Magic Kingdom Newbie Swap - Closed, but Active

I use ribbon on most of my tags.

You know, I don't know that I've ever seen anyone use ribbon on a tag - at least not in the swaps I've done. Usually "fiber" is one of the funky yarns such as Fun Fur, Eyelash, etc.

Let's ask for a consensus on it. What type/size of ribbon were you thinking of using?

I would like a spot in that free for all group if it's stil open. I have no idea what to do though. How about Minnie's House. Paper piecing and photo mats.

123SA That's a beautiful layout!

Here is a photo of my project, photo mats and box and tag for the Jungle Cruise. You can see the ribbon in the tag -- I was wondering if that is acceptable.

Also, the writing part of the journal box was 4x3 before I covered a bit of it with the matted sticker. Should I re-do that? Maybe make it a 4 1/2 x 3 1/2? I'm not sure that it would fit very well at the bigger size.

Is it okay that the words "Jungle Cruise" are not used in some way in my elements?

Thanks for your opinions.

I'll try to make the photo bigger -- you can't see the ribbon very well

Susan

Susan those pieces look incredible! :teeth: You did a wonderful job on them!! ::yes::

That ribbon really fits the pieces! This is why doing swaps is so great...you get to see how other people do things. As I've said, I've never seen ribbon on tags before. Seeing yours has opened up new possibilities for me! ;)

The journal box is also great the way it is! There is still plenty of room for journaling and the matted animal makes a cute accent!

Again, you did a great job! I'm so impressed!

Well thanks everyone!. I was pleased and hoped that you would be too.

But you know what the best part about it is? The paper and stickers were on clearance at ACMoore!

123SA, Those look great! That ribbon is pretty unique. I use ribbon in some of my tags, too. I usually just used a thin ribbon with or without fibers.

After I saw that $760 layout from ebay and the way meggiebear puts ribbon on some of her tags in that layout and others, I've been experimenting with wider ribbons. I used ribbon held with a brad on my Mad Tea Party tag (not that it would go for $760 on ebay).

This swap is so fabulous and friendly. Everyone is so helpful with kind words and advice.

I used ribbon on my tags for the pirate & princess party swap, well on one of them. It was 1/4 inch wide or so? maybe 5/8 can't remember, but I cut it 4 inches and folded it in half, glue dot to hold it together and stapled to the tag. It looks cute with the colors

Faerie -- is a photo of your tags posted? I'd like to check it out. I don't have a stapler, but they look pretty neat. I'd like to have an excuse to get one. (Believe it or not, I still have Christmas money left from my Dad to spend on scrap stuff!)

I haven't posted a photo but I happened to make an extra set of the tags so I can take a picture tonight and post it :D (a friend is doing a Pirates page so I made a set for her)

Here are the pictures

The first one is of both tags, the second is of the tag I used regular ribbon for. I just checked and it's 3/8" wide

This is what my boarders look for Lands-toontown group A boarders
This is the first boarder I've made, do they look okay?
Thanks

Holy cow! That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I love it! I am sure I'm not in your group though. :(

Faerie your tags are wonderful too. Simple and elegant (can you call something with a pirate on it elegant?).

Faerie -- thanks for posting the tags. I like the ribbon look, and I love your pirate!

fAnnF -- I knew I would regret not getting a spot in the Lands group. Very nice!

123SA - I just realized I wasn't in that group! ;)

Thanks to everyone who has posted their elements so far! They're great! The rest of us can use them as inspiration! :teeth:

fAnnF - I just love that border!! :teeth: Did you use a Disney Cricket cartridge for that? I'm soooo sorry I didn't get a Cricket when they were so cheap a couple weeks ago!!

Oh - and last bump for sign-ups.

SusieStone - I saw your post, but it doesn't look like anyone else is signing up for that last group. (It was mostly intended for people who may have missed out on the earlier groups.)
