Magic Kingdom morning emh don't bother

I prefer evening EMH just because the parks are so cool at night! AM EMH are only an hour long so theres plenty to do at all of the parks in that first hour. Those are great days for afternoon resort breaks because by 1pm you've covered a lot.

I personally love the EMH at MK. With a planned strategy you can get in a lot of rides! if you start with the open areas first, you can ride at least 3 attractions and then book it over to the attractions that open a little later without the extra long lines!

I'm so sorry it was a disappointment. It is our ONLY park to EMH. We love it! We knock out everything in FL with time to spare. We are morning peeps though. :)

Same here.

I'm sure it's frustrating if you didn't know that only certain areas were open. Going to the morning EMH on my last trip really helped with my one day only in MK.
I saved my FP+ for later in the day (I was doing Wishes FP+) and was able to knock out all of Tomorrowland (except for COP which I deliberately saved for mid afternoon) and nearly all of Fantasyland (except for 7DMT that I had an evening FP+ for and Anna/Elsa which I wasn't interested in and Mickey's Philharmagic that I was saving for mid-afternoon)

When the park opened I then went over and rode HM, POTC and BTMRR before the crowds got to them. JC was down on my trip. 2 hours later, they all had 30 minutes to an hour standby waits. Ick.

not a waste of time at all. Most younger children are up early and that is a great time to get them there and get a ton done then return back to resort for nap.

We didn't realize it was only these two areas either, on our May 2014 trip. BUT we still made great use of the time in FL and got SO much done!! I love MK EMH, and can't wait until my sweet babies are old enough to kick it during P.M. EMH:)

we go to the AM EMH and have a blast! everyones rushing t get to A&E so we justy swing a left and head into tomorrowland and have fun!

If you're coming from Main Street, Tomorrowland is to the right.

Ha-Ha .... erm.... ooops lol

*lowers head in shame*
:flower:No problem, I just didn't want people that didn't know to think they could go left and end up in Tomorrowland. :) That might cause some frustration. ;)

looking back that could have just rubbed salt into the OPs wounds lol

We need Robo to draw us a map on how to do that. It can be done, but it isn't quick... ;)

I am sorry did you not look to see the attractions that would be open? I feel that was a mistake on your part and you can't be mad at what rides were and were not open because you didn't bother to look it up.

I would never have known about the limited rides at rope drop without reading this post.

Who would think to look up what rides are open or closed. I would assume if the park is open, that would include all rides except those closed for refurb or having problems that day. (Excluding Epcot which has two opening times one for WS and the other for FW) I make sure to check EMH hours, refurb schedules, best park options for each day using touring plans and WDW, make reservations at the 180 day opening, make FP+ res at 60 day opening etc. and have never read any information mentioning only part of the park was open. So, I don't think it was a mistake on the part of the OP. Just an unfortunate occurrence.

DW is the only place I know of that takes so much planning for a vacation. I gladly do it because we have a great time but it is a lot to have to keep track of.

our first trip to WDW we were total newbs and didn't know.. we ran straight for adverntureland and then frontierland and shocked that whole side was closed.. we were so lost and confused at this point..

but after that day we learned thats just the way it was and now kill it at EMH RD riding a dozen or so things prior to crowds growing.. and when the new section opened up now we make our way back to barnstormer and ride 4-5 times just walk on.. lol. I wish they would just run that ride two times in a row before letting you off, its so short and a drag to have to get off and walk around to get back on when there is no wait
