I had hoped it wouldn't be AS crazy as the 4th but i'm hearing it's pretty much the same. I really really wanted to break midday and return for our dinner reservations at night.

What do you think would be the chance of MK reaching phase 3 closure on the 3rd? I am not staying on site however being a re-entry and having appointments inside the park allows me to still get in up until Phase 2. Should I just stay all day and want to die on the third lol?

Also for the 4th - going to Hollywood Studios. No desire whatsoever for the MK crowds on the 4th or even Epcot even though its a large park. Do you think many people will be doing the same at HS? Could I successfully leave midday here? I might not get past Phase 1 on this day even though I am re-entry I don't think fast passes count as appointments and I don't have dinner reservations at HS. I planned on returning to HS around 630-7 getting a snack and going to our fast pass reservation at Fantasmic before having fun with the show and fireworks.

I know people stake out seats hours in advance but I mean i'm not going to go crazy. I don't need the perfect spot - just enough to see it.

Final question - I have Rose and Pub reservations at Epcot on July 2 to see the fireworks. Apparently i read it was a good viewing spot to see it however my reservation is at 630 ... can I stall long enough to 9 and how do i get outside by the terrace area? Do I ask if its available or is it just up to the people who work there?

It's plausible that MK will see a Phase 3 closure on the 3rd but I'd expect that to happen late morning-mid afternoon. You should be fine returning later in the evening for dinner but it's a situation I would play by ear that day.

As for R&C I don't see how you could possibly drag dinner out for 2.5 hours even if ordering an appetizer, dinner, dessert, and drinks. Most of the food is prepared ahead of time and comes out fast in order to turn tables. For a waterfront table you'd need to ask the host/ess if one is available and if not, let them know that you're willing to wait for one to open.

Rose and Crown no longer lets you wait for a table with a view. You have to take the table that is offered, if you refuse it and leave you have to pay the no show fee.

If you are not staying on site you are taking a chance leaving the Magic Kingdom on July 3rd. The park is still very very busy, even though it doesn't quite reach the insane levels of the 4th. If you will be forever kicking yourself if you leave and get back in when you want, then don't leave.
