Magic Kingdom Evening Magic Hours

We will be at Disney the first week in May. My question is: Is the evening magic hours at Magic Kingdom worth going to, or is standing in line, like during the day, and only be able to get on a few rides?

We did evening EMH at MK when we were there in Sept. We arrived a little after 8:00 when SpectroMagic was going on (not by plan, but dinner took longer than expected). We followed the crowd down Main Street and we went straight to Adventureland. We rode JC, PoTC, Splash, BMTR and HM with no waits at all. We then walked over to FL to see if anything was worth waiting on and it was a zoo! I guess we were just going in a different direction than everyone else.

We really liked it, but I must also say that we are going to skip it this year and try a day with no EMH to see if the crowds are any lower during the day. Everyone says there is a big difference.

I am sure May is a little more crowded than when we were there, but if you are interested, I say try it. Just maybe don't plan on TL or FL, which is where it seemed everyone else was the night we were there.

HTH

We have been to evening EMH at MK twice and it was worthwhile both times. Epcot and MGM were a different story (not enough attractions).

DEFINITELY DO EMH!! We love them. Especially worth while the last 1 1/2 hours in the park.

What time of the year did you go?

I suspect that the dates mentioned in the previous posts (September and early May) can be drastically different from a high season time.

We were just there four March Break with millions of other people, and our two teenagers and their two friends did the EMH at MK from 12 midnight to 3 am - once the fireworks and spectro magic crowds cleared and the park closed (you get a wristband for the EMH), every ride was walk on and they loved it - they even got to stay on Space Mountain 3 rides in a row since no one was waiting to get on. Well worth it for MK.

THANKS....Just when I was convinced to avoid EMH evenings in June...
