Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed the tonal shift around here regarding this event? last year folks were split as to whether it was good or bad, but there were plenty of people celebrating its apparent demise. Now it seems to have transformed into something that almost universally applauded and desired. Anyone have ideas as to what changed in people's perception of it?

I think that people that went the first time really liked it and were surprised and happy when it continued. I went with just my oldest last May. The only reason I started following this forum more regularly was because of DAH. My family of 5 went on a bonus extra trip in February (we have AP's) just so all of us could do DAH. The people who have done it want it to be extended and so we do the reviews. The people who were against it as an extra event etc, I think have probably just given up. Plus the price decrease for the general public helps as well.

People actually tried it rather than just hating on it because it's yet another add on.

Does anyone know if lockers are available to use during DAH? Or do they close at the normal closing time? I'll be at the park all day and I'm thinking storing a few things if that's possible.

There are still those who think it's terrible. Someone went on a rant on my FB pictures from DAH and said they hoped Disney got rid of this because "extra magic hours were free before." I tried telling her this had nothing to do with EMH and it was a very limited ticketed event. She wouldn't budge though, and said she had been to the "limited ticket" Christmas party and it wasn't worth it so DAH was a terrible idea too. There are a lot of people out there who are just clueless and won't like any add ons no matter what.

We were there 3/2 and I don't think there was anywhere near 5,000 people there. We never waited in line for anything, just waiting for the next vehicle to come to load. We stayed on several rides for multiple cycles, and often saw areas where there was no one else at all. I think the majority of people were concentrated around the mine train and space mountain, making that area appear much more crowded. there were 6 people in our boat for jungle cruise, we stayed on BTMRR for multiple cycles, we rode HM alone, no one else in sight. We had multiple moments like this all night, just not at the mine train or space mountain.

We were there 3/2 and I don't think there was anywhere near 5,000 people there. We never waited in line for anything, just waiting for the next vehicle to come to load. Interesting - for us, Space Mountain and the area around it were empty that night, but there was a line for Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, and 7DMT. We could have done Thunder Mountain multiple times, but not without getting off. I guess it all depended on what order you did things in. Sounds like many people ended the night at Space Mountain while we ended at Jungle Cruise with about 10 people on our boat for the last ride of the night.

It might change our plans some. Like making sure we are not wearing ourselves out during the day so we can make it staying up late. I mean like not planning a a rope drop and staying all day at a park.

This may very well be their thinking but it could mess with our plans quite a bit since during the timeframe I hope DAH happens we'll have moved over to Universal by then. Our Blue Man Group night is already set in stone, plus a few other things I want to get solidified. I don't have a problem giving Disney the money for five people for DAH but not if they wait until last minute so it screws up everything else for me. But at least we'll have left the Disney part of our trip happy, so if they don't get this on the schedule early enough for me to get it worked into my plans it's their loss. You listening, Disney?

After much weighing of pros and cons we did this on 3/2. I have to say that I was very surprised at how nice it was and I would definitely do it again. Funny thing though, every time we tried to get popcorn they were out of the containers that hold them. I was not able to get any until after midnight as we were leaving Tomorrow Land, and even then I get the last one - for the price we all paid WDW definitely needs to plan better for this.

I am planning around the thought that it might be on a Thursday like before. We will be sleeping in that day, doing Disney Springs and Disney Quest (one last time ) and then heading to MK that night to see the last showing of Wishes. If they have it that night we will be ready.

Well, the last Wishes is Thursday May 11th, the week we'll be there. Not planning on being at MK that day. We don't care too much about fireworks & want to avoid the crowds. So I'm hoping it's not Thursday that week.

I have an AP and today the Mickey Monitor arrived in the mail. Thumbing through it I noticed that included as part of the "Enchanting Extras" available to AP's holders a reduced admission to After Hours. Given that the whole pamphlet addresses upcoming stuff for the next couple months (i.e. Flower/Garden, opening of Beauty and the Beast, etc) it seems a fair assumption that dates will be added for late April and May similar to last year. At least I am hopeful...and taking it as a positive sign.

I did it last night and was surprised at the crowds. Wasn't anything like the pictures with no one around. Still a ton of fun. Mine train was 5-7 min wait each time I rode it. Space was awesome until they closed one side. Before that I could get front car time after time. At the end space was a 3-5 min wait with each set of cars full.

I'd say there was way more than 5,000 people there last night. But still a ton of fun and well worth it.

My suggestion would be to get rid of the free food and drinks and lower the cost. I enjoyed a Mickey and Olaf bar, but I saw a lot of people hoarding water and sodas. Saw one guy with a plastic bag full of ~10-15 waters. Come on. That just makes the costs higher than they need to be. Disney should get rid of free snacks and lower the price.

ETA: When we arrived, I asked the CM handing out lanyards if it was sold out, and she said she didn't think so and that even if it was, they limit tickets to 3,000. I'm not sure that she was right, because it felt like over 3,000 people were there last night. Still fun though!

That was right about 3000. I've noticed when it's more families doing the park together that you get less repeat rides and more people walking between rides. I think it has to do with the fact that you rarely get a chance to just stay on the ride and some rides the effort to exit and go back in sometimes makes it not worth a second ride.

From inside, 3000 is the number the cap was set at. Obviously last year there was no where even close to that but as it has caught on, gotten more PR and of course the reduced price .... am sure they are creeping on it so it would feel much more crowded this year than last year.

One would think... I would HOPE!! I've just seen so many misprints in this thing, that I won't count on it for sure, unfortunately.

I also think a lot of ppl. just stop caring to voice their opinion one way or the other. When something is new, especially if folks don't want/like it, they're much more likely to voice their thoughts, as time goes on and nothing changes, they don't see the point.
