Magic Kingdom After Hours coming back (DAH); Reviews: Page 18 >>

Does anyone know if you're able to enter the park with the DAH lanyard and then leave the park for dinner and come back? We would like to enter the park around 4, go to our dinner ressie at 6:50 and be back for the actual event at 9

We left around 4 as they were beginning to hand out the lanyards and asked about getting ours then. They told us that it was best to just get the lanyard on our way back in to the event. If you aren't going to be in the park that day, they will probably let you do that, but it's not a guarantee since their website states that entry for the event begins at 7pm.

You don't have a park ticket that day but want to enter with the DAH admission and then leave? I would think they could let you do that since the ticket would show up in MDE as date specific, but I don't know as a practical matter if they would. Once in the park the only way to identify those with the valid admission are those with the lanyard, and that is something that could be easily shared with others. (Not like the wrist bands used at the event parties). You might be better off keeping your life simple and stay put when you get there.

I wish they would give out some news on if they will be adding more dates or not or if they will only have it at certain times of the year. Anything would be nice. I hate to be just hanging here not knowing if we should make a place for this in our plans.

This is our thought too. We are going in August and would love to know if DAH will be offered. We've done EMM (loved it!) but never DAH. I am hopeful :goodvibes

I am planning around the thought that it might be on a Thursday like before. We will be sleeping in that day, doing Disney Springs and Disney Quest (one last time :sad1:) and then heading to MK that night to see the last showing of Wishes. If they have it that night we will be ready.

We are planning around a Thursday night too. This way we have a sleep in and a late start to a park the following day. I guess if it doesn't happen we can make that Thursday night our late Disney Springs night. But, we are trying to leave a spot in our August planning on a Thursday, just in case (fingers crossed :thumbsup2)

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but I wouldn't plan or hope for this during the summer or busy times. I think WDW would have a real PR problem if they did this even during anything resembling a peak time. The optics of reducing or even limiting park hours during crowd times -- especially with the party season approaching fast -- would reinforce a negative feeling about WDW overcharging during its busiest times. I think there may be a shot for late April/May/early June again, but I wouldn't think it would be available at any times other than historically low ones.

I hope I'm wrong and they offer it in mid July when I'm there, but I wouldn't base ANY planning around it.

Respectfully, Disney has yet to reduce or limit regular parks hours for any DAH event to date. All have been held after the regular park hours generally in place during that particular time of year.

Wishing everyone an amazing night !! Enjoy every minute of it !! :tigger:

I know, but if they offer this at a time when there are a) big crowds and b) traditionally late hours (or when people think there have been late hours) they'll face a backlash I think they'd want to avoid.

I'm disappointed in the amount of guests tonight. Does not seem like an "empty" park at all. 20 min for mine train, 10-15 for Space Mountain. Only "walk on" we have had was splash and Haunted Mansion. I'll post my list and time line tomorrow. Maybe the event saw increased demand for the last evening.

First and last nights always are. The ride lines have me a little baffled. There is definately a crowd kind of following each other and sections with much less.

Biggest crowd ive seen, very few small family or couples.

Well we are back at Bay Lake after a great night. We never got the empty park feeling like some of the earlier photos showed, but the longest we waited for any ride was 5 minutes (PP and SDMT). All others were just waiting for the next car to pull up. We didn't arrive at MK til 7:15. We got a good spot to watch Wishes then headed into the park about 8:20. From 8:20 til midnight this is what we did (2 adults).

We also got ice cream twice, popcorn once, the Tangled lantern photo, and photos by the partners statue and in front of the castle. We were very happy with the experience and would definitely do it again. My mom who hadn't seen all the empty park pictures on here thought that tonight's more crowded night was the craziest thing she had ever seen. She kept saying how creepy the park looked without many people, lol! Now I am just hoping that they extend this so we can go again sometime!

I just filled out a survey for DAH. They asked about the typical things but also if the park felt "too empty" or "too quiet" and if we wanted more of a "party atmosphere" I was very clear in saying NO!. We bought the tickets specifically BECAUSE the park would be empty and this was NOT a party but a focus on riding with no waits.

Good lord I hope Disney doesn't screw this up. It's so unique and, for many, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the World without crowds, and that in itself is a memory I will treasure forever. Part of me wishes they could find a way to do it during the day time.

Me too. I used the comment box to say that the entire reason we felt it was worth the cost was the low/ no line situation without the distraction of party activities.

They had the same questions on the survey last year. It didn't change when it returned, other than they added popcorn. Which was something I did include in my survey as I thought they needed more than just sweets. I don't believe changes are their plan, just opinions of those that go. Instead of guessing they plan to screw it up think that they use the info to do more similar events
