Magic in a Winter Wonder World with 1,648 pictures

Hey Barbara,
How are things?!?

great pictures of the parade; it was rained out the day we went... so hoping Ashton will be able to catch this one...he loves Toy Story, really into the Monsters and the Incredibles at the moment, we still have not watched an Ants life with him yet...he watched the Wild for the second time today.
:wave2:

Great photo shoot of the parade! YOu have a ton of great pix!

I've never seen either parade, (not a big parade sorta gal) but I do adore the Pixar flix!

DHS seems like a day you split up quite a lot--at least everyone seems to be getting to do what they want to do. I never saw the old parade of the current Block Party. What was the old parade like?
It was, however, all of the splitting up prevented meltdowns. The old parade had the characters as movie stars and they were all decked out in their hollywood gear.
I know you said you like the old one better, but I think that parade looks like a ton of fun. Your pics are so cute! Bella is in a big Toy Story phase right now, so it will be perfect for her. Looks like a fun day so far!
Bella will enjoy it then. This one was fun. I'm just not a big fan of the whole stopping and everything. I'm more of a 3:00 Magic Kingdom parade kind of gal.
Finally caught up again! Congratulations on the new job; it sounds like a great opportunity!
Welcome back! Thanks so much!!:goodvibes
It is fun for the little ones to get out there and shake, rattle, and roll with the Block Party Bash characters, but like you, I loved the Stars and Cars Motor Parade. :)
Good girl!:)

Hey Connie,
Very busy week. Emily was sick and home from school the entire week. This morning she woke up and said she was better and wanted to go to her softball game and a bowling birthday party tonight.
I've been getting things ready for my new job. The curriculum is a lot different then my old job. I have next week and then the girls have spring break and then I start. I want to actually be able to enjoy the time off with them and we're going away for a few nights.
I've never seen the bug movie either but I know who the characters are in the movie. The girls didn't know who Flicker was when we met him at the Animal Kingdom.

Thank you. I like to see some of the parades. I always plan to see them but usually never do. I do want to see the Celebrate a Dream Come True and the Animal Kingdom parades this trip since I never have.

After the parade we met up with our adventurous riders at the big ol' hat.

When it came time to go wait for the next car there was a fight over who got to sit with Mitch. Both girls wanted to ride with him! Gee, don't I feel loved. This fight lasted about 2 minutes and then finally Emily volunteered to ride with me. Thanks honey.
Now I have ridden this twice before and even though they say spinning is an issue for a lot of people I do fine. And I'm the kind of person that just:sick: from looking at the teacups! So, I'm doing fine (not point wise, I was already loosing by 15,000, but spinning wise.) and then all the sudden by about the third round I needed to close my eyes for the rest of the ride. If I hadn't.... well then, you can just insert a pretty picture here. :scared1:
I got teased for a while after that.
I came in last because I stopped playing and I don't know who won between Mitch and Amy but Emily made top 3 for the day in the park. She was proud of herself and so were we.
Will we see this on the trip?

Back to Magic Of Animation for some unfinished business.

Carl looks a little down that we weren't waiting 80 minutes to see him.

What is that unfinished business?

:woohoo: Emily for making top 3! I just wanted to say I am really enjoying your TR!! How's the upcoming trip plans going?

Thanks so much! It means a lot.
I think I have the raid plan settled. I'm not going to have a separate thread for a PTR, I'll just do it here. Or else things will get too out of hand for me with two threads going at one time. I'm going to post Top 5 and where we'll eat tonight. Amy has a friend over and Emily is at a friend's house. Mitch wants to go to the park later the 4 us so we'll do that.

It just so happens that that unfinished business was a drawing class.:sad2: Horray!
When we got in line a CM came up to us and said that there was room for 3 of us in the class starting right then. I turned the offer down. This was a family vacation after all and I wanted us to do it together. So, we waited about 20 minutes for the next one.

While we were waiting a CM came up to Emily and said Happy Birthday to her. (still sportin' that birthday button a week after her birthday.:rolleyes1) He then asked her if she had a party, asked her about it, etc. Anyway, they were having a lovely conversation that lasted about 5 minutes. In Emily's world no one is a stranger. She'll start talking to you like she has known you her entire life within a minute. Amy on the other hand, is the complete opposite. Back to business when he left he 'dropped' a pack of 3 Tinkerbell pins on her lap!!! Em was on cloud 9. It was the exclusive pixie dust pins. One was for her and the other one was for a friend. She thought about it for a second and gave the second one to Amy. :lovestruc
For the drawing class we learned how to draw Ray. Know who he is? I didn't! He is the little fly in Princess and the Frog.

When the class was over Mitch asked the girls what they wanted to do.
Amy's answer was she wanted to take yet another drawing class! Does this surprise anyone? Emily wanted to go see Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage. Yes, my 14 year old wanted to go see it. I was kind of glad because I had wanted to see it to but I, a grown woman, was not going in there alone.
The girls both watch a few of the shows when they are home, sick from school, so they knew the characters.
When we got there the CM was closing the door and it was the final show of the day. Massive sigh. The CM said that we can go in the special entrance through Brown Derby she led is through and I felt like a star going to my movie premiere via my fancy Hollywood entrance. By the way- the food looks yummo. It's on my list for sure now and I never had a desire to eat there.
Playhouse Disney pictures coming tomorrow.

Great job! on the drawings! that was great that you were able to use the special entrance and catch the show...that was one of Ashton's favorites!
need to go back a catch up past this last page...be back tomorrow
:wave2: Connie

Sounds like it was a win-win situation all around!! MOre drawing for some, and exclusive entrances for others!!

I must say, you have some very fine artists there!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! We made it at just the right second. 30 seconds later and we would of missed it.

It was! Win-wins help prevent "I'm going to do this ALONE."
Thanks! At the drawing classes the CMs break it down into just one shape at a time and even the worst artists can create a master peace. They did take away erasers a few years ago probably after they saw Mitch's paper, it was just eraser marks. :lmao:

Very cool! :cool1:

Yay for Ray! Cute drawings :) I just saw the movie for the first time this past weekend and we really want to get the DVD for DD's Easter basket. Hopefully we will be able to pick it up by then.

I have the seen the movie! It's very cute. Next I want us all to go see Alice in Wonderland in Imax, possibly during Spring Break.

Amy is getting it too for Easter! Emily will be getting The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Horrah!:guilty: When she got the first movie you don't want to know how many times she watched it. I have a feeling I'll know every word to New Moon soon.

Just pictures for tonight. I'm too tired to type a big update. Very busy week and the time change is really throwing me off. It takes me FOREVER to get used to them.
I could tell the difference between a dinner time showing and a morning showing. None of the little ones were dancing! Everyone was very tired.
What do you do for a living? I act like a 3 year old!

It's party time!
DSC01508.jpg

Overall I thought the show was very cute! My only complaint would be is the audience sits very low on the floor and the stage is high up with small puppets. Not a huge issue, just the stage should be a little lower.
Where do we go for a dinner? (I was shocked at where we ended up eating!)

I've never been to PHD, but I see from the stage height and by little craning necks how that'd be true.

Wow, you put a lot of work in your report! Thanks for sharing. What always strikes me as I read other trip reports is how much everyone has in common with us! I think everyone has someone in their group once in awhile who likes to spoil the magic by pointing out something like your husband friend. But the good thing is last trip I left our spoiler behind!!:lmao:

I loved the postings of the lit castle, and the drawings that were done in the art class have given me ideas for our next trip to the MOUSE:rolleyes: Youngest will love that!

WE are going this year, just trying to get it all scheduled but we love to go at Christmas time, and it really is a lovely time to visit Disney.

Thanks for the information on the critters in the room, I have heard off and on over the years about this being a problem across the US now that so many people are flying in from different areas of the world. I just wanted to think my MAGICAL place of MOUSE was immune. So our next trip this coming year I will be taking this issue more seriously.

IT was nice reading your TR, and it made me even more determined to finalize our trip ASAP!

EARS looking at a successful trip report!

we really enjoyed PHD but I thought the stage needed to be just a hint lower or the puppets a hint higher...since most of the audience is tots and they are standing.
Ashton really enjoyed this last year and the dance party afterwards for EMH!

Disney needs to do one of two things.
1: Make the floor higher.
2: Giver everyone a phone book to sit on.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in and thanks for the kind words.
Christmas is a great time to go. It's so gorgeous! I like to go in May, October, and November or December.
Do you have your dates and where you want to stay. I'm so glad I inspired you to book. Please share all your trip details once you know.
Yes, the bed bugs are not your friends. It would be nice if Disney was immune considering that is all we go on vacation. We are going to Key West in about 10 days so that will be healthy change.

I thought the show was really cute. I agree with you on the height. I don't think it was like that before they changed the whole show for the PHD TV shows. I miss the shows they used to have on PHD when the girls were little. Big Blue House, Jojo's Circus, and Pooh with Christopher Robin.:)
