Magic Gel Pillows--do you have one?

We stayed at the Beach Club back in September and LOVED the pillows they had there! We decided we just had to get some for home. I finally got around to calling Disney Resort Collections to find out what kind of pillows the Beach Club had (the BC told me to call DRC) and was told they were the Magic Gel pillows. I ordered my pillows that day and received them a few days later. We are really disappointed! Our new pillows don't seem like the same thing we had at Beach Club. The website says the pillows are bouyant and move with you. The pillows we got are almost FLAT! It's like we're not even using pillows! It's almost like they left half of the gel out Has anyone else ordered these? How are your pillows? Unfortunately, the invoice says we can't return our flat $35 pillows!!! I didn't see that on the website when I ordered. I only saw that beds can't be returned. Should I call DRC and ask them about our pillows? Did we get a bum set of pillows, or are they supposed to be this flat and un-gel-like? TIA for your comments (no flames, please!)

I can't really help, but we just got home from the Beach Club today and were asked to do a survey when we checked out. The one complaint we had was that the bed and pillows were terrible. So if you asked me, I'd say the 'magic gel pillows' are all terrible, not a fluke with yours.

I was curious about what they were so I googled them and saw they came in three different varieties based on whether you sleep on your back, side or stomach. Maybe that's the difference?

It doesn't really make a difference which way you sleep on it--it's still pretty flat. I wonder what will happen if I try and squish all the gel part together? Maybe it will have a little more "bouyancy" that way?

I think the issue is that the pillows in the Resort Collection brochure aren't the same pillows that are actually on the beds. I loved the pillows at WDW my last trip, and they were the Beyond Nature brand - I ordered them from a shop called The Mattress Place ("the best little sleep shop in Ohio") They are made by Carpenter and even though the Beyond Nature name is no longer used, they seem to be the same pillows we loved so much. We have a thread on the DVC Miscellaneous Board about the same thing.

Well, doesn't that just beat it all! I called the BC and they specifically told me the pillows I ordered from DRC would be the same thing I had slept on while I was there! How did you find out about them being the Beyond Nature brand? And The Mattress Place? I'm out $70 and didn't even get what I was hoping for My new pillow is working pretty well on top of my old pillow, which was getting a little too flat to use by itself, so maybe I'll just deal for awhile. If I change my mind, how do I order these, and specifically, what do I order? Also, can you give me the link to the thread you mentioned? Thanks!

Well, I checked the tag for the ones we liked at HH and OKW and it said Beyond Nature. Then when I got home and researched it seemed that the Beyond Nature ones weren't being sold anymore but the Mattress Place had something similar that looked like the same thing and when I ordered them they felt the same to me. I think they actually are listed as Beyond Down by Carpenter. But they had the same checkerboard pattern on the outside of the pillow.

Someone on the DVC Mouscellaneous Board says she could tell a difference between them and the real Beyond Nature ones, though. Someone else lives near a Carpenter factory and might check for us. This is a burning question for a lot of people now!!!

The pillows at BC had no tags on them. I checked them, since I knew we wanted to maybe get ourselves some. Keep us informed on what you find out
