Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

The champagne girls are a group of women only who got together on the PC cruise in May 08. We all wore pink and did a champagne tasting. One of our co-cruisers provided the alcohol and the information since she owned a wine store. We all learned about and drank champagne. We also had a mascot, Sassy Bubbles, who dressed in pink like tink. We all wore tiaras too. We took a picture.

We did have a lot of fun and vowed to remain Champagne Girls Forever! I still have my tiara.

Oh my goodness - that sounds (and looks) like a great time! Thank you for sharing. Are you in the picture, and if so, which lovely pink champagne lady are you?

Carolyn

Thanks Stacy and Carolyn.....it does take some getting used to, but this year is better than last. I appreciate the hugs....it helps.

I'm the lady sitting on the first chair to the right of Sassy Bubbles, who is standing in the middle. We really did have a fabulous time.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!!!:)

Great photo of the Champagne girls!!!:) Wish I could have been there!!:lovestruc

We don't have Thanksgiving over here:sad2: , but in honour of our international cousins (especially those of you on the Dis!!), we celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with some friends - fabulous food, great company and lots of great Disney conversation - a perfect day!!:thumbsup2

Hope you all have a wonderful time, and big hugs to you Ella  - I know these holidays can be hard when loved ones can't be with you, but I hope you manage to enjoy your dinner out.:)

ok.. somebody STOP me... :worship:

I'm making a list for an FE exchange for this cruise... * Just got the Oriental Trading Magazine* When we don't even have one set up yet and it's 2 years away!!!!!!!!

:confused3

I just sent my info to DU to book this cruise. We booked a (dummy date) cruise to the Med while onboard the 08NOV08 cruise. When I got home and ran the numbers for flights to Spain, hotels, etc... we decided this Christmas cruise would be a better fit for the whole family.

Christmas in the sun!

Our last cruise was a blast, though some grumbled about plans being ruined, etc.. Hurricane Paloma changed our 7nt Eastern into a modified western / Castaway Cay double dip! Great cruise and great weather.

We did the same thing, we were booked for Spain but gave it up for Christmas

Stacy -

on our last cruise I didn't know about cruise meets, so we didn't do the fish extender exchange. What exactly is this?

And a warm welcome to our Christmas Cruise Gecko1! :dance3::dance3: The more the merrier!

Hi There..
The FE exchange is where we have a list of everyone who wants to participate, they hang up a Christmas Stocking or any type of fish extender and we secretly put little trinkets in each others FE.. It's just a little extra fun way to celebrate on the ship.. It can be stickers, tattoos, pencils, pads, pens, magnets, little toys, etc

That sounds like it would be really fun! I love the idea of Christmas stockings :santa: Very festive!

Yes, it does make it a little extra fun.. Even the big kids get a kick out of what was left in their FE every day :yay:

How exactly does it work? Do we pick random days to "stuff the stockings", or do we bring enought "stuff" for every day? Or, do we drop off the gifts on pre-arranged days?

That is up to you.. You can do it any way that is fun and less stressful for you and your schedule..

Personally.. what I do is make a list of room numbers and people in the rooms and kids ages.. Then I take a floor or two per day and drop off my goodies.. Depending on the amount of participants is how I determine how many cabins I stop at per day..

Happy turkey day everyone. Hope you all had a great day. We went out to eat at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in the Pocono Mountains where we live. It was quaint and beautiful. Here's a few shots.

Their champagne by the glass was a little to sweet for my liking, so I had a cosmopolitan instead.

My DH John and my stepdad Ray. It was just the three of us for dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

Deb - those are great photos, thanks for sharing. The Inn looks absolutely beautiful, and I hope that your family had a really great day :flower3:

Stacy - thanks for the explanation about the FE gifts - your way of delivering presents makes sense. I was totally confused :confused3 , and never really considered how big a job the deliveries could be. We need to save some time for relaxation....:beach: ...or :drinking1

Carolyn ;)

Hi Carolyn, thanks for your well wishes....we did have a very nice turkey dinner. Christmas will be next. In just two more, we'll be onboard together. It will pass quickly.

We had a big group on my last cruise so we shared the fish extender gifts. We formed groups to hand out the gifts and each group took a different day of the cruise. My group only had me and DH and one other couple. So we each took a different deck floor to deliver the gifts. It didn't take long.

This probably won't work for a smaller group though. If you're individually gifting, you could do a different deck each day to keep it reasonable. Just an idea.popcorn::

You could also do Aft, Mid, Foward or however and ride the elevators to each floor and drop off what's in that area.. :confused3

All the rooms Aft section
All the rooms Mid section
All the rooms Forward

on any day you have time :santa:

That's a very good idea, I think it might go quicker this way because you don't have to walk the full length of all the hallways.:thumbsup2
