Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

IS there no chance of me fitting it in our Cat 6??:thumbsup2 - that would be perfect for us - unless I too get a desk top one - I just want the room to feel as 'christmassy' as possible (It will be our first one EVER away from home!!):lmao:

Us Too.. We have never been away for Christmas before :santa:

Its all been quiet while i've been away!:goodvibes

I've been on a weeks vacation here in england and I return and no one's been posting??!!:lmao:

This is the first cruise meet thread I've been on - (My last cruise no one posted at all on the thread I started!!:lmao: ) - so tell me - how do we encourage all the other Christmas cruisers to join us, or is it just too early yet??:lmao:

I can assume it is just too early.. There are alot of people out there who are worried that with today's finacial burdens we are all feeling the pinch of and may indeed make some of us Cancel out on our vacations :sad1:

I am so happy to find you! I have been watching the links for Magic Cruise Meets 2010, and haven't seen anything about this cruise. Then I read Amy's post on the Christmas cruise with kids - opinions please thread, and discovered there was a thread for us. After a little more searching, here I am! :woohoo:

I look forward to getting to know you all better over the next 2 years :hourglass

So, I was doing some Christmas shopping and was looking to get ideas about decorating our cabin while getting my shopping done for the house..

Question: Battery Operated Lights.... better then plus in electrical lights for on the ship?? I was just trying to think if 1. it's safer and 2. is there enough electrical outlets and power for plug in lights?

:santa:

Hi Stacy, I know that there is not enough electrical outlets and I'm not sure about the power available. But here's something we bought and took with us on the PC cruise.

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=400738#

It came in very handy. We used it for our computers and camera while sailing and for our cell phones on the last night so they would be ready when we got off the ship.

With Christmas coming up, I started thinking about this cruise a lot too. I'm excited to be going back to do another Southern Caribbean. Me and John did one in Sept 06 with some of these same ports and it was our favorite cruise so far. I liked it better than the PC cruise because of the ports of call. That and it being Christmas really makes it something I'm looking forward to.

I have to keep stopping myself from buying Christmas things to bring on the cruise and remember it is 3 Christmas's away!!! :guilty:

I was in Hallmark a few days ago with my DH John. I saw little lighted houses and snowmen that were both adorable and I went to look and said that we needed those. John said, for what. I said the Christmas cruise, I need decorations with lights on them for the room. He said, no....it's way too early to start buying for that cruise. So we didn't get them. But if I had been alone in the store, they would have come home with me.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

well, what helps me stop... is.. remembering, id have to pack it away somewhere and "hope" I don't forget where it is before the cruise..

besides, we can be buying for our Tortola cruise instead ;)

Buying for Tortola won't help me. I don't need anything for that cruise. Just FE gifts and they're already picked out.....I just need a head count to buy them.

I just bought everything I could possibly need for my PC cruise in May. I have formals, semi formal, pirate, tropical and mexican outfits. I can wear them again. I bought new suitcases, shoes, bags and makeup cases, bathroom bag, mini cooler bag and a surge protector for the PC cruise. I don't think I need a thing for Tortola.

I do need things for this Christmas cruise though.

ok, different approach... IF you buy it ALL now.. what will you do for the rest of the 2 years we have to wait.. :confused3

Ahhh, now that strategy will work. Besides, how many bags will I have to buy to pack two years worth of shopping in??? ha ha ha!:lmao:

So I have been reading the boards daily, especially in regards to the Christmas cruises, trying to collect any tips I can. It is almost unfathonable that our cruise is so far away, I just can't wait! But, we have more time to plan our decorating schemes, right? :santa:

Deb - something that I have been very curious about as I read your posts. What is a Champagne Girl? It sounds like a fabulous group to belong to...

I hope everybody is doing great, and your Thanksgiving preparations are going well - we celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada October 13, so no turkey dinner for us next week :sad1:

That just means you get Thanksgiving Turkey a Month early ;)

My mom cooks every Thanksgiving.. I don't have to lift a finger :woohoo:

The champagne girls are a group of women only who got together on the PC cruise in May 08. We all wore pink and did a champagne tasting. One of our co-cruisers provided the alcohol and the information since she owned a wine store. We all learned about and drank champagne. We also had a mascot, Sassy Bubbles, who dressed in pink like tink. We all wore tiaras too. We took a picture.

We did have a lot of fun and vowed to remain Champagne Girls Forever! I still have my tiara.

I used to go to my mom's every year and I miss her leftovers....she passed away last summer and last year was my first turkey day without her so I ran away to visit with my favorite cousin and family in FL. This year I'm staying here and we're going out to dinner....just 3 of us....long gone are the days of many people sitting around the dinner table eating mom's dinner. I have good memories though, so enjoy every minute while you can, life is quick.:goodvibes
