Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

Hello everybody!

I now understand how to deliver the FE gifts (took me a while, I know, but I did finally get it  ). Now I just need to figure out how to make a FE. Does anybody who participated in this before have pictures? Also, if I used a Christmas stocking, would just a regular stocking work? Or would I have to make my own? I've only got just over 2 years to work on this, these are things I need to know! ;) ;)

I used an ordinary store bought Christmas stocking

I also have a FE made from a dollar store hanging shower caddy.. The kind that looks like it could hold shoes.. I trimmed off the bottom pockets and added some sticky foam letters and Mickey heads.. Works very well if the FEs are not too heavy

Carolyn, I ordered this from the disneystore online for my fish extender for this cruise. It's a Mickey christmas card holder. It will work just fine because it has some pockets to put the gifts in. They just reduced the price to $12.99. Take a look.

Here's the link.

If it doesn't work.....just go to http://www.disneystore.com and look in the seasonal home decor section.

You can leave it the way it is or decorate it some more. It's up to you.

I hate to disappoint you, but, it may be too small for a FE.. The pockets may be too slim for anything but cards :confused3 Let's hope not cause I was looking into buying one as well

I already have it at home and it'll work just fine. It's not much different from the non Christmas fish extender that I had made for us to use on our PC cruise. The pockets are good. It can be used as a FE. I'll be using ours.

After posting that, you got me thinking Stacy. So I had to actually go and check out both FE's and compare. The one I had made for me to use on the PC cruise definitely has pocket sleves that open up wider than the Christmas card holder that I just bought. But I put my hand into the pocket of the Christmas card holder and I think it's wide enough too. It's not as wide as the original FE, but it'll still work I think.:confused3

I was wondering if there was a link going on for this cruise. I am so happy to have found it. Now I have some other people to "talk" to.

We are booked for this cruise. I wish we were going on another one before this one, but it is going to take me two years to save for it.

We went on the Christmas cruise this past year (2007) and had a blast. It was our first (and our only so far) cruise and we got hooked.

After I run my errands for the day, I will be spending the evening reading 12 pages of discussion so I can catch up!

Hi!!!:wave2:

Was wondering if anyone else was planning on the Southern Caribbean 11 night Christmas cruise in 2010??!!:cloud9:

If so, I'd love to hear from you!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:welcome: So nice that you've found us - and you're an expert on the Christmas Cruise! From your signature line, it looks like you have kids? How old are they?

So I am putting all thoughts of fish extenders on hold for the day. I am off to see the movie Twilight with a few of my girlfriends. We have read all the books, and have been anxiously awaiting this movie for quite some time. If you haven't read the books, I highly recommend them. Sort of like reading People magazine - nice and easy to read, you don't have to think too hard about it, great for escaping life for the afternoon. The only bad thing (in my case), was once I started reading I just couldn't stop myself! Would find myself in front of the local bookstore 10 minutes before opening time, waiting to purchase the next book in the series :sad2: My family was very happy to have me back once I devoured all 4 books in 3 weeks (while working full time and shuttling my kids back and forth between activities). I was not getting a lot of sleep during that time (or cooking, or cleaning - you get the picture) :rolleyes1

Kind of embarassing, actually - I wonder how us "forty somethings" will blend in with all the tweens this afternoon? I'm sure we'll blend in so seamlessly you won't be able to tell us apart ;)

I'm sure it will be just fine. I didn't know you had it already.. I was thinking, Most people do pens, pencils, pads, stickers, glow sticks and tattoos so I can only assume it will be just fine.. If you get bulky christmas ornaments like I did for a Dec 07 cruise, they can hang them on the fish itself or the door handle even..

FYI It's the last day for 40% off at www.disneystore.com and here's what I ordered today.

I got two of these...one for me and one for John with our names on it.

I got two of these...one for the kid, but I put John on it, and one for Tom, our grandson who will be coming to live with us in two days....long story for another post.

I had already ordered and received the card holder that I'll be using as my FE . Last year I got the mickey head wreath for the door and the mickey head card holder. Each year I add more mickey to my christmas decorations and I'll keep doing it until it's all mickey. I love the mouse at christmas. I'm going to love this cruise.

It's just too cute....I have to use it on this cruise. Here's a better picture of it.

Hi Dreams.....so glad you found us. How was the Christmas cruise this year? Do you have any pictures you can post? I bet the ship was all decked out in christmas decorations. How cool! Were you able to decorate your stateroom with any christmas decorations?

Carolyn, I hope you and your girlfriends enjoy Twilight. Don't worry about the tweens....just think of how youthful you still are!!!!

It was fabulous. Since it was my first and only cruise, I do not know if it was wonderful because it was Christmas, or because it was Disney. I do have pictures, but you will have to bare with me as I try to figure out how to post them.

We did decorate the stateroom. I had a $1.00 tree from Target with little ornaments and a small strand of lights. We had an Oceanview room, so we decorated the window with window clinges. And of course, our door was decorated too. Only so much you can do with the space.

This time we will have a cat 6 - not sure if I will decorate the balcany or not.

Oh, I love it, but, I'm trying and restraining myself from buying now for a cruise so far away.. :rolleyes1

Oh I know, I said the same thing.....but can't you see it's not working too good for me. hahahahaha!

Carolyn

My DD is 11 (will be 13 on cruise) and my DS is 7 (will be 9 on cruise).

Any other kids out there so far???

:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:

My question is.. Does Santa Claus visit you while on the cruise or is that an added bonus so when you get home there are still presents under the tree? Do you pack a Christmas Tree?

Thanks for the info!! :grouphug:

Because of the cost of the trip, Santa was able to bring small gifts that were under a little tree that we brought with us. We told the kids that they were not going to get gifts from mom and dad because they were going to want stuff on the trip and that would be their gifts. So I spent a fortune in the gift shop. It was a small Christmas as far as gifts under a tree is concerned, but huge on memories!

Taking a guess I would say it was wonderful because of both....that it was Disney at Christmas. After you DL your pics into your computer, you have to go to another website before posting on here. I use www.photobucket.com and I just browse for the pics to copy from my computer and upload to photobucket. Then you just click on the IMG code under the picture and copy and paste it onto here. I hope that helps. I would love to see some of your pictures.

We'll be in a cat 6 also on deck 5 aft, port side. I want to buy decorations right now, but realize that I should wait until the cruise gets closer. It's way too far out yet. Not sure what I'll do to decorate. That tree from Target sounds perfect. I'm looking forward to shopping for christmas cruise decorations. If I can wait that long.:woohoo:
