Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

We are looking forward to the new ports we have not seen before and the longer cruise! At the time of the cruise we will be Renee (43) & Alan (43) Anna (DD6) and AJ (DS4). We are in room 2608 - although with this longer cruise we hope to upgrade if there is space available at time of departure! This will be our 6th Disney Cruise - Anna & AJ have been on one every year of their lives and love it! This will be our 5th Holiday cruise on the Magic. We are also DVC owners at the Contemporary and will be staying at BLT the night before we sail.

Welcome aboard.

I was noticing that your kids will be similar ages to our kids. Although we have three daughters: ages 9, 7, and 3 at the time of the cruise (DD3 will turn 4 right after we return). Any interest in introducing the kids prior to the cruise? by e-mail, I mean?

Nice to have you aboard... :thumbsup2

This is our 5th :santa:pirate: also... Do not ever want to spend :santa: on land again.. ;)

Hey don't you guys know each other by now?

I am still around. It is always neat to see some repeat fellow cruisers. Our girls will be 14, 12 and 9 on the Christmas cruise. We are counting down to our return trip to Europe. This time we are doing the Northern European capitals and are so excited about that cruise.

Also wondering if you'd be interested in introducing the 9-year-old-girls. Just let me know.

Hey! Just found out that Ducky Williams is supposed to be on our cruise! I hear he's great. :thumbsup2

If anyone has been on one of his cruises before, I'd love to see a picture of his work...

So, those of you who have been on a Christmas cruise in the past, do you remember what Christmas day was like? On our cruise, it will be a Sea day. Was it the same in the past? Was it a formal/semi-formal night?

It seems that formal/semi-formal nights are usually scheduled on Sea days, so I was wondering if Christmas day will be also. I think if they are going to fit in three dress-up nights on Sea days, then it would have to be. I'm guessing the first Sea day, Christmas Day, and the last Sea day will be the formal/semi-formal nights.

I will be booking tomorrow. After the Baltic cruise, I will be more active onthis thread. I am bringing my daughter and my brother. Talk to u guys later.

Welcome!

I think there are several folks in the same situation as you on this thread - they have another cruise scheduled before Christmas and will become more active after it's over.

Obviously we aren't among them:sad1:...so I'll just keep chatting with DH until everyone else wants to join in! :thumbsup2

Booked. I am happy to be joining this group. This will be a great cruise!

Sorry I have been MIA lately. Unfortunately, after much denial, we have decided that we are not going to be able to make this cruise. If a winning lottery ticket falls in my lap, then we will be back, but until then, we just can not swing it this year.

I hope everyone has a great time. I am sure I will be thinking of you all December 18th.

If someone can send me the link to the cruise website, I will post it on the opening post for reference for new cruisers.

Have a great time!

Eric, Jen, Alexa and Adam

Always hate to lose a DISer from a cruise. Hope you have a great holidays, anyway.

Here's the link for the separate website (though it has seen even less activity than this thread): http://southerncaribbeanchristmasmagic.pbworks.com/

I just posted a link to pictures I took at the Villians Tonight show over at the Facebook page if anyone is interested.

Ok, I see Minnie Mouse in that photo. Here's another one with Minnie: Remember the Magic.

Any of them fit the bill to be the next photo in our Disney photo tag game??? The current photo is above!

all - popping over from "the magic that disappeared" cruise, as they just cancelled our 10 day holiday cruise and made it 2 - 5 days cruises, still waiting to see what DCL will do for us when we check in the morning. Might think of this cruise, but just didn't have the same appeal as the 10 day one over new years. Our cruise meet was pretty light, so I guess the 10 day one was just not selling, so they cut it in half.

WOW! That really stinks! I would be really upset, I think. Will you do back to back, then? Where will the cruises go?

You're certainly welcome on "our" cruise!

I sure hope this doesn't happen to our cruise.

Edit: I just tried to check the DCL website for info on that cruise, but the whole site seems to be down right now. Or maybe it's just me.

We did the NYE last year... :thumbsup2

For fireworks we were off the coast of Miami... it was :wizard:

Join our :santa:pirate:, I think you will have

239 days til we go...

Saving my pennies the best I can...

Now the DCL site is working.

The 10-night Holiday cruise still shows up in the list of itineraries. But when you search for a cruise to book, there is no Magic cruise departing on Dec 29. I wonder what their plan is.

lucky1, how were you notified? Were you given any options?

lucky1, how were you notified? Were you given any options?

TA sent me an email of a itinerary change and to call her. No details. I found out via posting on our cruise meet and the main board. Someone who booked directly with DCL was called with "great news" You are going to CC x4. Seems like someone else got a email from DU that the cruise is cancelled, but no more details.

The person who was called by DCL choose to move to the Dec 30 7 day cruise, but did not get a Cat 3, but did get a special offer since they was inconvenienced.

I'd call that more than "inconvenienced"! I'd be hopping mad, that's for sure! We only get one chance a year to come back home to the U.S., so we've built our entire annual leave around this cruise.

Well, I really hope that they leave ours alone. I'm definitely counting days until Dec. 18 at this point.

But everyone from the Dec. 29 cruise is more than welcome to join us here! We haven't been very lively of late, but I'm sure it will pick up. There are some really nice people in the bunch!

thanks 3princessMommy. We are still trying to decide what to do, but first we have to find out when my daughter's Nutcracker performance is because it might start the weekend of your cruise.

BTW... this was posted on the main page... Seem to say the longer cruises are not booking well. Just wanted to make you aware... Hopefully more from my cruise will book yours to keep it alive.
