Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

hi another DCL-newbie question.

We're planning to get to the port early to see if we can score a spot in Group 2 embarkation, because I want to change our Palo reservation to another night (the slot we have is not ideal but better than nothing).

Once we board the ship, can I go try to do this right away, and where do I go - ie/I'm guessing Guest Services desk? Will it be open ~1-2pm? :confused3

I've only done this on the Wonder so I'm going by what I've been told- but look at the Navigator when you check in it will have the location where Palo is set up (I'm thinking Rockin Bar D or Studio Sea- I've heard both of those). On the Wonder it doesn't open till 1pm and there's sometimes a line.

Caryn, are doing an excursion in Guadeloupe and wandering in search of fun French food or just wandering Guadeluope sans excursion? Wendy

We are on our own in Guadeloupe, Wendy. Sandwiched between an easy sightseeing excursion in St.Maarten and a crazy busy day with 2 excursions in Barbados, we thought just wandering around the port town would work. Excited to see the market and what spices we can find as well as nibbling on food ;).

We are also wandering about on Martinique on Christmas Eve. I think it will be a more focused wander, though. Pushing to take the Ferry from Fort-de-France to Pointe du Bout and wandering (and eating!) there before heading back to the ship. :santa:

My friend Don and his wife go to Guadelupe often. They love it. Their advice to me was find a pasty shop and get a pain au chocolate. We are doing an all day excursion so I am guess I will have to wait for my fancy French pastry when we are in Martinique.

MY BOTP shirts came today!! Woo-hoo!!!

Sunny and freaking cold in STL today... :headache:

I so love my DW... I saw :surfweb:that SWA had dropped the price of the early flight for our trip to Orlando.. So I sent her an IM. Next thing I know we are leaving at STL at 8am and will get to spend all day at WDW; the day before :santa:pirate:.

Did I mention its her Bday this Friday... :dance3:

Thee flowers have already been sent to her office... and she has her new pair of :3dglasses ...

Hmm. Those plans sound pretty darn good. I will consult with DH and may copy cat! I'm also considering the Caret Island excurison on Guadeloupe.

Once you board the ship, you must go to the Palo location right away and get in line. Have everyone else go to lunch, but you go wait in the Palo line. As others said, the location moves around some. But you can ask at when you check in at the port, as well as when you first get on the ship.

I rushed over to the SW site, but no luck on our prices falling. Yay for you all Mike.

Altho the earlier nonstop is equivalent in price, is 8:50 am too early a flight to catch? I thought so but the next nonstop to KC is at 5:45, getting back to KC at 7:45 and then we have a 3 hour drive home. DH has work the next day and DD and I have an 8:30am dentist appt.

Has anyone heard the Jimmy Buffet song Lovely Cruise? It gives me the chills right now b/c I'm so excited for ours! pirate:

Speaking of surprising your children. We were getting our FE gifts sorted, labeled and packed late last night when our 7 year old DS woke up and came down from his bedroom. Now he is the only child who does not know about the cruise and we don't plan on telling him until we arrive at port. He is our Mr. Disney and everyone can't wait to see his reaction.

He comes down half asleep sees all these gifts spread out on the floor and asks who these are for. My DW panics and says they are for Daddy's work. Now I only have eight employees and there are close to a hundred things spread out in the family room. He looks and says "They sure must all like Disney." and then went back to bed.

Just have to hope we can keep the secret for 17 more days.

Dinner, Dec 15th - Ruth's Chris $68.00
Dinner, Dec 16th - The Melting Pot $90.00
Having dinner on U.S. soil with my husband, daughter, mom, and sister.....PRICELESS!!

:yay:

OK, once again I let a couple weeks go by before catching up on here...:rotfl: I logged on this morning and saw I only had about 40 posts to read through and thought...hummm, people must be busy with the holidays and the posting has slowed down - until I got near the end and saw we now have a part III.:rotfl:

SO...after reading all morning and early afternoon, I may be up to date...:thumbsup2

We leave in two weeks! Hopefully I have illness out of the way - I caught a stomach bug two weeks ago and then last weekend lost my voice! Hopefully it will be back by Saturday - our Christmas musical - it is looking good so far! I can't believe that now I am working out of my house I have caught more bugs than when I went out every day :confused3

The last few cruises we ended up with lots of candy and pillow chocolates in our cabin. We gave them to different crew members and they were delighted! I really didn't think about them not getting chocolates every night, but it is a treat for them! I know people were asking about gifts for the crew - they really appreciate any amount of thoughtfulness and that was something I never even considered until I asked on a whim if they wanted some of my leftover candy and was surprised at the excited YES.

I was excited to hear about the launch! I hope we get a chance to see it! We are going to NASA the day we get back (Raddison had a great package for NASA and since we are wanting to park the RV there for the trip it worked out well!) We will be at the Bay Lake Tower on the 17th and may end up at MVMCP if we get in early enough and tickets are available, or we may just enjoy the magic of Disney outside the parks.

I can't believe we get to meet all of you in a little over two weeks! I was excited before, now I am over the top in count down mode!

December 1st and it looks like a snowglobe outside!:santa:
Just a few flurries, not a real snow, but all of the little kids came out of school with their mouths open hoping to taste a snowflake~so cute!
Travel blowdryer w/mini-diffuser~check.
Red ties for the boys to wear on Christmas~check.
Snow boots for the kids~not even on my radar, but their sandals fit!:lmao:

I had my hair dyed lavender this morning.
I think that goes better with pale skin, don't you?

JUST saw a thing on AOL about Buy one, get one free at the Disney Store. Check it out. Buy a plush disney toy and get one free. Also free shipping on over $75 with SHIPTODAY code.

I'm so excited!:yay::yay::yay: Went to Coldwater Creek outlet and found a Red-and-black print dress to wear on Christmas Day! Hurray! I have red hair and I don't usually buy red, but this year, for the cruise, I said to myself "Self, you need something RED!". Also a woman was at the store and she had very close to the same color hair as me ( mine isn't as firery red as it used to be!) AND SHE TOLD ME TO GO FOR IT!!!!!! SO I AM!

Also bought a red T shirt to wear with my black Disney Christmas sweater! Tried on a red turtleneck, but I knew it would be too hot 90% of the time, so I passed it up!

Hurray! Getting ready for the cruise!

Oh, BTW, I also got our FE gifts decided on....just need to add labels.

Oh, my, I might actually be ready. Now if only our DS gets all his work done at law school in time to get here for the cruise................

I used to dye my hair purple all the time, but as I have short hair it grew out too quickly and was a pain to re-dye so often, so it just stays dark blonde now. :hippie:

I'm not tanning or fake spraying so I'll join you in being pale (very pale!) :lovestruc

I was going for very short and very platinum. In other words, very Andy Warhol-y (plus 100 lbs).
For whatever reason, the platinum pulled through violet. And we just went with it.
I could not care less if I blind the whole Caribbean with my paleness. I'll still take off my top on Orient Beach with the best of 'em.
Fair is Royalty is my motto!!
(or fair is cheap, as the case may be)

We're going on the Caret Island excursion. In 22 days I will be here -

When you have red hair, you stay pale....even if you DO live in the Sunshine State! Sunblock is our friend!
