Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

momssurprise - I see you are a KU fan. (No I'm not one:upsidedow) Anyway, I was thinking what a small world it really is. My neighbor's son is a freshman at KU and plays on the football team. My neighbor use to coach football at KU and is now the head coach for University of Northern Iowa. I know, weird information, but I just thought it was pretty funny.

Is anyone else attending 'Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party' on Dec 16th? :santa: :goodvibes

What is Mickey's very merry Christmas Party? I keep seeing people mention it, but I have no idea what it entails. Is it included in the daily park fee? Is it at the Magic Kingdom or another park? :confused3

Thanks for any info. I am planning out all our pre-cruise plans now. :yay:

Its a special christmas event held at the Magic Kingdom on certain dates. It includes entrance to the park, cookies, hot chocolate, the castle lit up, a christmas parade, snow on main street, and access to rides (poss fireworks but unsure). You can go in the park from 4pm onwards and after 7pm till 12 midnight merry christmas party tickets only. It's something we really enjoy. It also used to include a photo but i dont know if that is still the case.Hope i havnt left any details out but im sure someone will fill you in if i have.

It is not included in the daily park fee. It is what Disney calls a "hard ticket event" and is a special ticket. If you go to the MK on a day when MMVMCP is taking place, and you do not have a ticket to the event you will generally be asked to leave the park at 7pm.

If there are any other people interested in knowing who is on your excursions, PM me with a list of your excursions. I'm making an Excel workbook of all peoples plans, so we know who in the group will be on where / when.

This is what they had planned for our cruise to the Med on May 15th. We couldn't go at the last minute because my daughter was hospitalized. The thread was extremely active! There may be info on there still. They made this one in honor of my daughter even though we couldn't go at the last minute.

Maybe something like this would help us identify each other?

We are doing the 8:15 Reagtta too! It will be me, DD(14), DD(21), DDBF(22) and then we are going to grab the rest of our party and head to the Sunset Bar & Grill to watch the planes land. I've heard a lot about the traffic so we will just have to plan for that on the way back.
Hey Lelani, don't forget us........lunch sounds like a possibility. Hopefully traffic won't be too awfully bad, but unfortunately there is no easy way to get from point A to point be on the freaking island. It might just be faster to walk along the beach

Is there are 'meeting spot' for the older kids on the first day?

What do you mean by "older kids"?:goodvibes If you mean teenagers, then nothing has been finalized yet. DD and I have been discussing this and as soon as we figure out a place and time we will post it here and on the teen thread. Right now, we are thinking about deck 10 above the Goofy Pool on the terminal side of the ship(I think this is starboard but not sure), around 2 or 3pm. Just a chance for them to meet up before everything gets going. Just an FYI this is usually where my crew hangs out for the sail away party if anyone wants to stop by.

If you are talking a different age group then maybe someone else can pipe in with the info.

This is pretty cool! Was it a sticker, pin, or something to go on the laynard?

I won't forget about you Vicki! Do you know what time your excursion gets over with that day? I think ours gets done about 11:15am. We have only been to St Maarten once so I don't know that much about the island. We did a DCL excursion and then walked around the shopping area near the port so I didn't see much of the island. How far is the walk along the beach?

Hi Hannah! So glad you will be joining us. Where do you go to school? How old are you? I lived in Australia as a child (Canberra). Would love to meet. I have a 17 year old daughter and 15 and 16 year old sons.

Hi! I'm 14 (15 in march :wizard:) and will be in 10th grade by the time the cruise comes around. I won't say which school I go to, but I do go to a boarding school 2 hours south of Sydney.

Hello Hannah and WELCOME! :thumbsup2 You post semester trip sounds absolutely fabulous!!!

3PG -- sorry to hear about the cancellation :confused3:sad2:

Caryn

Thankyou! It should be heaps of fun!

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Welcome Aboard Hannah! I saw that you signed onto the teen thread too. My DD is on there(lyss) also. She's pretty busy during the week with dance and school but tries to get on there when she can.

Hi and thankyou! Yes I did sign up, and am hoping to meet some friends! I would love to meet your daughter.

Upon further review, our travel agent requested this rotation. It is not confirmed.

If you have a travel agent, use them. If you work directly with DCL call them to request your dining rotation preference.

Thanks for the 411. I appreciate it. I called DCL, and I got my rotation. It is LAP. They were clear to tell me that the rotation is subject to change.

Welcome aboard Hannah! If your kids are interested, there is a teen thread. My DD is 15, and she is enjoying getting to know others before we sail. I have also been to Australia, lovely country, and the people are so friendly.

It was a laminated card that hooks on to the lanyard. It has your real name and disboard name. We only got the screen shot of what it would look like. We never got the real thing so I'm not sure if the screen shot is the exact size. We saw a few people on the Med cruise who had ones from previous cruises and they were fairly big, like the size of a small index card (3 X 5) so you could recognize each other from pretty far away. :cool1: I believe there was one person who handled it and it was going to be about $1 each. My daughter was very ill by that time so I lost track. I thought it was a really cool idea though.

LeiLani...What about DWTS!!!! I know you probably already watched the Results Show. We, west coasters, are still waiting. Putting monkey business aside, it is most likely Bristol's last dance.
Also, I thought Jennifer danced better than Brandi, but I agree it was very entertaining.

It was a good show and yes, I have already watched the results but I spoil it for you.:bitelip:
