Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

We decided to skip HP this time around (despite huge fans in our house) because we feared it would be too crowded so soon after Movie #7 was released...:confused3

Corwin17 and Kitster -- SNORKLING FLESH WOUNDS?!?!?!

:goodvibes

You would have thought they slit his wrists or took his arm off at the shoulder....sheesh.

Here's hubby just BEFORE he became 'lunch'

And here's what he missed because of the blood-sucking floating sushi .... :rotfl2:

BTW, I was about 5 feet above that shark, at the end of a long tow-rope that had 15 other floating bodies attached to it. I think I was the bait on that dive :

We get into Orlando around lunch and are planning to go Friday afternoon/evening. My DD9 is a huge fan and we thought we might as well go while we are so close. I hope it's not packed since it's a Friday.

Friday should be fine with most children still in school that day and over a week until Christmas day.

We brought our own snorkels and all that last year on the cruise Sarah, and honestly we didn't use ours. We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran, and the The Doobloon excursions and ended up just using theirs on both days. So it was just extra baggage for us. But seeing as how yours are prescription might as well bring them. We didn't snorkel or anything on CC, so can't honestly tell you if it's worth it or not.

Yeeeea, wouldn't be a good thing at all. Hehe. With the excursions we went on, they passed out the gear for who needed it, so as they come around, just tell them you need the snokel and fins if you guys decide to go that route. Prolly not a weird request at all, they prolly get it all the time. What excursions are ya'll doin for the snorkling? If you don't mind me askin.

Is it better to buy your own snorkel set rather than pay to rent from Castaway Cay and/or borrow the sets given to you on excursions? Will they allow you to use your own set on the excursions?

We're bringing our own prescription snorkel masks so we'd only be paying rental for a breathing tube and fins.

Is anyone else bringing their own snorkel sets?

My husband and boys will likely bring their own sets. They usually do because my husband has big feet :rotfl: and complains that borrowed sets don't always fit right. The boys are just more comfortable with their own. Of course, we'll have to see if we have room for them this time around since I'll be packing enough to fill the boat already! :rotfl2:

See you snorkling in Barbados, Sarah! :cool1:

Back mid-1990s I snorkled on the Doubloon and had a very nice time. Trying to remember which island the Doubloon took us near, want to say it is one of the ones associated with Treasure Island and Kidnapped by Stevenson. We were near and could go in a cave. I made it in about 5 feet before I nearly had a panic attack ... but from what folks told me it was very cool. :thumbsup2

If I could, I'd head over to St. John, but with a 6 yr old and all, I'd only do it if the trip over to St. John didn't take so long. We are just going to Magens Bay Beach instead.

I think we might do the Doubloon Snorkel or the Captain Nautica Snorkel.
We're currently booked on the 'Coral World Ocean Park and Scenic Drive’ but it only gets back to the ship 5 minutes before everyone is suppossed to be aboard! I know the ship waits for you if you're late on a Disney excursion, but after seeing this video (Disney Cruise Ship leaves guy behind in Cozumel) I don't want to end up worrying and not enjoying myself! :scared1:

Well, most likely the ship will wait for a while if the Disney excursion is late. But my understanding is that they may make the choice to sail on without you and DCL will transport you to the next port of call by other means. That's a worst case scenario, though. I can't imagine it being that difficult to get back to the ship. None of those islands is THAT big.

DH was home :cool1:this morning and help me with my magnets.
We were able to print up one so far... a birthday magnet for DD. I think it turned out great! :)

Is the Kid's meet at Mickey Pool for the 11 yr age group? If so, does anyone have younger kids that are interested in meeting new friends? My 4 & 6 yr. old love making new friends and would enjoy a little kid meet. Anyone else interested?

Ugh, I feel so lost trying to determine which shores excurions we want to do. If anyone has any experience with the ones being offered for this cruise, I am all ears.

:)

*whispers to Dagny*
Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten... *nods* A lil pricy, yes...but I promise you will NOT be disappointed.
