Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

I don't know if anyone can use these is a crafty way but I saw they put out the magnetic photo holders at the Dollar Tree. They are like a sleeve. Plastic on the front and magnet paper on back. You slip the 4 X 6 picture into it. My store had them at the register where they put the gum. I already bought the ornaments that hold a picture so I don't need them but I thought I'd pass it on. You guys are so crafty. Actually I bought a bunch of stuff for the door  couldn't resist. hehehe

Is the Kid's meet at Mickey Pool for the 11 yr age group? If so, does anyone have younger kids that are interested in meeting new friends? My 4 & 6 yr. old love making new friends and would enjoy a little kid meet. Anyone else interested?

The Mickey Pool meet is for "kids" - my daughters are 9, 7, and almost 4 - so that's the age range I'm targeting. I'm guessing that kids up to 11 or 12 would also feel comfortable depending on their personality. Heck, everyone is welcome - it's Mickey ice cream bars at the Mickey Pool! But it's a "kids" meet. So if you are or have a kid, come join us!:thumbsup2

We are doing several snorkel excursions and will bring our own face gear. I just don't like the community cleansing in the bucket. This reminds me though of more things to pack in the bags....this time for the kids too. Whew!

Looks like I better get started on my cruise walking diet to catch up with you guys. Wow!:yay:

Ugh, I feel so lost trying to determine which shores excurions we want to do. If anyone has any experience with the ones being offered for this cruise, I am all ears.

:)

My husband, the German carpenter, just wants to find a hardware store in every port.

Sigh. This might be a loooong trip.

Do y'all know if there is a bus or shuttle offered from the Disney resorts to Universal studios? I'm trying to cover all my bases so there aren't too many hiccups and I gotta figure out a way to get to Harry Potter Friday afternoon from Pop Century.

Nothing sponsored by Disney- they want to keep you and your money on property!;)

Check Mears though. It seems, awhile back, that I heard they'd do a pick up to Universal for a per person charge instead of a metered fare. Otherwise a taxi.

Would you believe we've gone almost 4 whole days without adding a new cruiser? For a while there I thought we were going to sell out the ship by ourselves.

As you all know Joann (3princessMommy) is on a trip to the states. Let me tell you, dressing three girls for school in the morning is not easy for a dad. Especially for spirit week. Tomorrow is "disco day." First trying to explain what disco is, and then showing them a few photos on the internet of typical disco outfits (mostly paisley)... the reaction is, "Eeeewwwww!"

Suddenly the 6 year old who loves colorful, flowery dresses refuses to where them for disco day. She insists on the plain sky blue dress with a white ribbon sash/belt. I'm glad I started this discussion the night before.

Oh my! I havn't been able to get on the board for a few days. Lots of catching up to do. We have a great weekend at DL. Kids had a 4 day holiday so off we jetted to CA. Now back to reality...

My DS6 and DS8 will be by the Mickey Pool at 3pm. Hoping it will help my shy boys make some new friends early on.

Lori - I see you'll be heading out to sea again in a few days. Lucky you! Can you do me a favor and see what the current policy is regarding bringing cases of water on board? We were still fine with slapping a luggage tag on our cases of water in April and giving them to the porters, but I have been reading recent threads that the policy has changed. If so, our carry ons will be bulging at the seams!
Thanx,

Marguerite

Great! My kids will love it!

Disco's all in the moves anyway... :woohoo:

I'm such a DIS stalker that I read all the Part I thread over the past couple of days in airports and hotels.

Dagny - I too am overwhelmed by the excursions and I don't have my Passporter yet. I made choices electronically so I have something saved for each port right now, but I'm not convinced I'm going to do any of them. Also, DH and I usually do at least one excursion without DD (leave her in kids club); I have her signed up with us for all of these, for now...

Right now I have:

St. Maarten. Orient Beach. But I could probably do this outside Disney much cheaper. I've also always wanted to do the Lord Sheffield pirate ship excursion. Non Disney, but w/in walking distance of the ship.

Guadeloupe. Beach by motorboat.

Barbados. Turtle Snorkle

Martinique. Land, Sea, Little Train

St Thos. Buck Island Sail & Snorkle.

Universal Travel Agent site has a ticket that includes round-trip transportation from the Disney Hotels to Islands of Adventure. If you are working with a TA on your trip you should be able to get this set up! Let me know if you need help!

Wow took a while to catch up with you all.
Been busy with work earning money to spend in December.

Just booked Fort Wilderness for a few days after the cruise, we have stayed there once and really liked it but felt as though we wanted more time so now we have 3 days. :cool1:Anyone have any activities they enjoyed at FW?

Also completed my online check in for cruise and decided on FE gifts and starting to get them together same with gifts for servers etc.

Does anyone else have a little look to see if they have a stateroom number even though its too soon? :confused3

How are the numbers for the fish extender is it looking like having 2 groups yet?

Welcome to all the newcomers :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Ooooh, FW...LOVED the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review (Dinner and a Show), it is a must. Kids loved the petting zoo (if it's still there?) OH..and we did this a few years ago for new years... Sit on the beach by the docks where you can rent the boats and catch the ferry and watch the fireworks that night on NYE. Thought of other stuff to do that's fun!!! Mickey's Backyard BBQ again,a NOT miss...'specially if you have kids. As well as pony rides and roasting marshmellows out by the big campfire and watching movies every night.

Not a problem, I will add it to my list of questions I'm taking with! Any other questions I need to ask while on the Wonder?

Rick went out today and got his port supply for the cruise, and got me a lovely bottle of wine that may (or may not) make it to the cruise.;)

Tux came today. Kindle is due Friday. I got all the rest of my things for our FEs for Sunday's cruise.

Tonight is FE assembly, costume sewing, and crew member care package assembly. I love this madness but I'm wondering if I'll get it all done in time.:hippie:

Good luck with getting everything done Lori! Sometimes wine helps with packing...and sometimes not. :cool2:

Have a great cruise!!!!

Thanx again Lori. Have a relaxing cruise with good food, excellent wine and of course some bingo winnings!!

I started purchasing my FE gifts since I don't have the time or craftiness as many of my fellow dissers. I also picked up my Christmas ornament for the exchange. Now, I have to work on my magnets!!

Is Barbados the Turtle Shipwreck and Snorkel? If so, we are doing that too. What time are you going? We are going at 11:15 and I know that there are some going at 8:15. We are also doing the Buck Island Sail & Snorkel at 11:45.

Lori,

Good luck getting everything done and hope you have a great time on your cruise!

Lori - your tasks sound awsome as you are going on a CRUISE!!!!

Have a great time -- excited to hear all about it :goodvibes
