Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Hi Everyone!

We have posted the roll call on the front page of this thread. Please check your listing to ensure that it is correct. We have included screen name, first names, and kids ages (DD/DS age).

There are lots of folks on that list that we haven't heard from in a while, so please let us know if you are aware that any of them are no longer sailing with us. Please also let us know if someone is missing.

Finally, as is noted, this is NOT the Fish Extender list. TinkMischief is maintaining that list since it includes cabin numbers. If you want to participate in the FE, please PM TinkMischief.

DH told me I had to make this a big post since it's my 1000th! :cheer2: yeah me! :cheer2:

Thanks so much for the roll call. Can you add a few things for me. I have the following people traveling in my group. DD-14, DD(Brittany)-21 and her boyfriend(David)-22, boyfriends parents(Lee & Angie), and my parents(Chuck & Nell). Thanks

Also, I have a few names on my list that are not on the roll call so maybe you can check them out. They haven't post in a while, but I haven't seen anything saying they were no longer on the cruise. The DIS names are: Pooh'sPal & NaomiJayne(these are together); discruiser; and CarolynElizabeth.

Thanks again for doing the roll call.

Welcome to the new cruisers!

Mike glad you survived your celebrations!

I'm trying to watch the Wonder pull out of PC and pass the TwoPalms webcam. It's always fun to watch them sail by!:boat:

The other two ships have left so now just waiting for the Wonder to leave!:surfweb:

Wonder is starting to pull away from the pier. I know it's not the Magic but it's the best I can do until the Magic comes home.

Here she is passing Two Palms webcam.

Yep, it's correct. Thanks so much Aaron. It's kind of late where you are so I didn't expect you to still be up. Appreicate all the hard work.

Hi Everyone!
After lots of back and forth about this cruise, but now we are booked and paid! I'm on the front list and its been a year (!!! REALLY:scared1:) since I have logged into the disboards. This is our 5th disney cruise and second christmas one. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and can't believe its really coming up. Working on preplanning shore excursions etc.

Hi everyone...Thanks for the warm welcome.

For the poster inquiring about SSR, yes we are DVC owners and actually own at SSR, AKL and GCR. Unfortunately (and I rarely have to say this) I am actually out of vacation days and won't be able to stay at SSR prior to the trip.

I was on the EB Repositioning Cruise in April with 2 girlfriends, then almost 4 weeks to New York City, Washington and Florida in July with the family, now the two week WB Repo cruise and then the Christmas cruise.... I think that's 10 weeks this year.... 5 weeks are official holidays an then with special leave days and a ton of overtime this has luckily turned out that way....so I can't complain that I can't do disney before hand....:rolleyes1 although I would have loved that as I celebrate my Bday and my Anniversary on the 8th and 10th of December.

Does anyone happen to know if Disney has ever been to Barbados before???

I am not sure how to find the person that organizes the FE exchange without going through all the posts to send a PM.... is there an easier way to do this?

It may have been planned, and I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but are there any plans for any craft, scrapbooking, jewellery making groups etc with the DIS while on the ship??

I am also wondering about a Palo brunch in the private room? We did this in 2006 and had a great time.

Hi Eileen ;)

I still can't believe that we are going and there is going to be so much to do before December rolls around.... I don't even want to think about the amount of work that still lies before me...

Denise

Jewelry, you say??? Hmmm, would not be able to bring along much of my stash, but I'd be interested in joining if the scheduling fit:3dglasses

Well, I finally got my crew to agree on excursions and I got them all booked tonight.

Here's what we are doing:

St. Maarten - 12 Meter Regatta
Guadeloupe - Botanical Garden & Severin Distillery
Barbados - Turtle Shipwreck & Snorkel 11:15am
Martinique - Mangrove Kayaking 8:15am
St. Thomas - Buck Island Catamaran Sail 11:45am

It feels good to get that out of the way.

Denise

This should make it easier ;)

Wow! So many pages of posts to get thru :scared1::cool1: my head is spinning with all the new info may have to read again to make sense of it all lol

Thanks:lovestruc to those of you answering FE questions in my absence...single mom with 3 jobs means I don't get over here as often as I would like!

Ok! Off to go dig back thru the thread but wanted to get back to you Denise!:thumbsup2
Definitely am in for the ornament exchange as well!

All the information about activities that have been planned and the people to contact to participate is located on page 1 of this thread. If something is missing or needs to be added, please post or send a PM to BigAWL.

This is shaping up to be a really fun cruise! Can't wait! :yay:

Welcome back, stranger!

Someone was talking about Palo - I forget who. We probably will have enough interest to fill the room a couple times. FOr the other things, if you're interested in organizing, I'll add you to the front page.

To help, I just added links on the first page to the memebr pages for each event organizer. Click on their name and you'll be able to send a PM.

 You guys rock...

We usually book about 15 min before the desk closes the night before we hit port.. :rotfl2:

Welcome to the new folks & returning folks..

Won't be long and we will be under 100 days.. :yay:

Will this be your first Disney Cruise? If so, then I think you're right about 75 days. Starting with your second cruise, I think you get to make reservations at 90 days. On your 6th cruise you can reserve at 105 days, and starting with your 11th cruise, it's 120 days. I believe it is also 120 days for concierge suite guests (is that right?).

OK, so I haven't been on for a while and there are sooo many posts to catch up on, that I haven't been able to read them all.

We are a chatty bunch aren't we...

We are interested in the FE and I will PM the appropriate person as soon as I figure out who it is. We have added an extra person to our cruise. My dd(18) is bringing her boyfriend. They are still in high school so they will be able to use the teen club. I also have a DS who will be 15 at the time of the cruise. My sister will cruise with us as well. We have 2 rooms. My sister and daughter will be in one room and the boys and I will be in the other. Pray for my sanity. :rotfl:

Oh my... Good luck with the fraternity dorm room.. :)

We usually do the cruise over Spring break and WDW over Christmas. Had to flip flop this year because of a band trip to WDW Spring break. We are pretty excited. It will be BF's first cruise ever, first flight ever, etc. He traveled with us quite a bit this summer.

Wow.. first flight... thats very exciting..

We are most likely flying in the night before and staying at the Hyatt. We already have the rooms booked at the Hyatt. We did that last year and it was a great benefit. I went over early in the morning, while the rest of them slept, and checked into the cruise. It took about 15 minutes and then we had a leisurely breakfast, while they picked up our luggage and got it loaded, then we took a cruise line bus over directly from the Hyatt. Our boarding number was low enough that we walked right on the ship with no waiting at all. It was great. My son likes to be in the first group on the ship, which is nice but it was really wonderful to not have to rush in the morning. Nice perk if you stay at the Hyatt.

Love the Hyatt.. we will be there... or should I say we are staying there the night before, we will be at WDW as long as MK is open..;)

We have cruised the Western so many times that we really don't spend any time to speak of off the ship. I am looking forward to so many new ports and some touring this trip. With so many sea days, I think it will be ok to get off every once in a while.

The new ports are very exciting,, at least for us.. we are :woohoo:

To those of you who have done a Christmas cruise before...what's the weather like? Is is most likely warm or will it be cooler? We hardly get to swim when we sail Spring break and the water at Castaway Cay is downright frigid that time of year.

We bring shorty wet suits for CC.. Makes it more comfy. Onboard the pool is 80 no matter where the shp is so we swim.

I guess that's it for now. Love the idea of t-shirts and magnets :)
Maybe put our screen names on the magnets? I would be willing to make lanyard tags, if anyone is interested. Let me know. Someone did that last year and it's one of my favorite souvenirs.

Welcome aboard!!! :thumbsup2

I think that sounds right, Aaron. Our first Disney Cruise, Bob and Campbell's first cruise ever, my third cruise. I did a cruise on NCL in the mid 90s (the Seaward to Tortola, Aruba, Curacao, St. Thomas) and in the late 90s I went by myself on a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise (the Flying Cloud all around the BVI :lovestruc). What has happened to the Windjammer line just breaks my heart. Only one ship is left in Europe somewhere. Most of the rest are scuttled or in such bad shape they should be.:guilty::mad:
