Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Hi this is our first Disney Cruise. We are so excited. We have 4 kids. DS 15, DS 10, DS 7 and DD 2 (almost 3 once we cruise).
I am trying to understand the FE. Can someone please explain how it works and what you put in it. I have seen them for sale on Etsy just not sure what to do. Also if you have two rooms do you get two or would I just get one for my family?

We are also a family with four children. {insert juggling smiley here }.

I'm cool with a roll call that includes names and ages. We don't have a cabin number yet so I guess that solves that!

I can add a roll call to the front page if you want, so we can match screen names to real first names, and number of boys/girls (and ages?). Room numbers are only necessary when it comes to FEs - some people personalize the gifts depending on number of kids, ages, gender, etc., so it's important to know who is in which cabin. But that doesn't have to be posted here on the DIS. It could be e-mailed by someone with the master list. Or on another site with closed group memebrship like facebook (I don't remember who was administering our facebook group).

There are lots of folks on that list that we haven't heard from in a while, so please let us know if you are aware that any of them are no longer sailing with us. Please also let us know if someone is missing.

Finally, as is noted, this is NOT the Fish Extender list. TinkMischief is maintaining that list since it includes cabin numbers. If you want to participate in the FE, please PM TinkMischief.

Just made the ressie for the Comfort Inn & Suites for the night before and about to make a ressie for the night before that at Downtown Disney (I think Regal Sun)

Hi Everyone...

We are very excited to be able to join everyone on the Christmas Cruise. There are going to be 4 of us. Myself (Denise), my dh (Peter), dd 12 - (Jessica) and dd 8 (Kimberly).

The X-mas cruise will be my 11th cruise, my husbands 10th and my dd's 9th cruise.

We were on the 2006 Christmas Cruise and through a Disney Cruise line meet thread, like this one met up with the ["Bakerteam ]family (who are also on this cruise) prior to the 2006 cruise first via email for the girls to have an email friend so that they would know someone, and then for a meet and greet before the 2006 cruise. The cruise was a blast, and the best part is that we have remained friends with the Bakerteam family and now try to see each other about once a year... Yeah for dis board made friendships... So when we knew they were coming we decided to join them... Hi Eileen!!!!

So...we are very excited. I am a legal guardin for about 20 children and of "my kids" will be in one of the ports that we will be going to for a family holiday at that time, so they too are excited to see me and meet up.

Until the Christmas cruise, we still have the transatlantic to look forward to which leaves on the 18th of September.

My dd's want us to join the Fish Extender exchange and I would love to join the Christmas Ornament exchange.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I never made it to Ajax, but up to Toronto many times to see baseball games. We relocated to TN in 2008 after almost 37 years in Buffalo. After 2 years in TN I am starting to get a really odd mix of an accent.

So glad you finally joined this thread.

As far as our group goes, it's me Eileen, DH (Bob), DD 16 (Caitlin) and DD 13(Emma). We orginally had a stateroom, however, thanks to my amazing friend, Denise, as I stated earlier we switched our reservations to Cat 12 GTY and save lot of $.

I've already sign us up for the FE, however, I'm definately interested in the ornament exchange.

Thank you for adding the roll call to the first page! I didn't remember seeing any kids my step-DD's age (20 at time of cruise)...she cruised with us last time we sailed but it was our whole family and she and my niece hung out most of the time so it was a great time for her but I could have seen where she might have been bored had my niece not been there. So I was just wondering if there were any other kids her age sailing. As it turns out, she has decided not to sail this time, so it's a non-issue. I see there will be lots of girls for my DD8 to meet, though!

I've added your family to the roll call on the front page. Also there are a couple other updates to the events section - everyone check it out.

BTW, I've done a count of kids. There are 63 kids listed (not including a 23 year old "kid"). Based on the ages we have listed, the biggest age group is the eight 12-year-olds (six of those are girls - I think those two boys may be in trouble).

BBQMommy, we (my DH, Ken and I)(along with DD and family) will be at CI&S the night before the cruise also. I think we are driving from San Antonio and will leave our car there in their "park and cruise" special.

I hope to do FE and possibly ornament exchange but will need to think about secret santa, etc. Since I am retired, I don't have much time to do extra things. We retirees seem to be busy all the time golfing and such

Hi Lois -- I actually called the hotel this AM and asked about the location for the parking and security. That tipped the scales towards CI&S over Radisson - though they are owned by the same company .

Clerk told me the parking is not in a different lot, just parking all around the hotel and that there were security cameras and two police sweeps/partols overnight. That works.

Read so many reviews my head is spinning.
