We are staying offsite, but it was recommended to me that we buy at least one magic band. ($12)

Thoughts? To me, that seems like a waste of $12 but I've never been, so what do I know?

There is no reason to "need" a MagicBand.
All of the features regarding entry to parks and accessing FP+ can be done with a
regular flat plastic ticket.

IMO, having "at least one" has no merit in improving a visit.

If you simply WANT a MB, have at it.
It would make more sense if everyone in your party either did or did not use a MB.

BTW, the cost of a MagicBand is actually $12.95 (some say $12.99) plus tax, so the real cost is about $14.70 per band.

Recommended by whom? If you dont want one, there is no reason why you would need one. You can do everything with your RFID ticket that you could do with a band, except wear it on your wrist.

I personally wouldn't waste money on one if I wasn't staying on property. They're cute and trendy and all, but you really aren't missing anything if you don't have one.

Its really just a matter of if it is worth the $13 to not have to dig out your tickets for FP and park entry. Other than that it doesn't really have any other benefits.

I am a little baffled at why someone would recommend at least 1? That part really makes no sense.

:) While MB are convenient (since you always know where your ticket/room key is!), I would not purchase one if it wasn't a part of my package price.
