Magic Bands--we are missing one

Hi everyone,
We have a trip planned for mid March (college spring break). My DH, DS and I all have annual passes. We are taking my DS girlfriend with us on this trip (this is her first trip). I bought the girlfriend a 5 day magic your way ticket through Disney and added it to our ressies on mydisneyexperience. It let me customize her a magic band along with ours. We received ours today but not one for her. She does have her own room but it is booked through my DVC points and I have her address down as mine. Should I be concerned or give it a few days to arrive before I panic. TIA

I would say none of the options you are giving yourself, neither concern or panic, since the trip is over a month away I would wait over the weekend and if it still doesn't arrive make a call to Disney Easily fixed on their end I'm sure :thumbsup2
 
I would wait til Monday and call if you don't get the band. Good luck and enjoy your trip..remember, to be looking at Disney thru the girlfriends eyes...she will be so excited to say the least.
 
We just got back from an extended trip in WDW. When we checked in, I requested no magic bands. No problem. I was given key cards that did everything MBs do, but track where you are, how much you spend, and if you walk to the left or right. I don't care for the technology of MBs. Whether or not you have a MB has no bearing on your use of MDE. I was going to link our AP with it but they suggested not to in case I lost our APs. Our APs had our first name on it but only that. We were still able to reserve or change our FP reservations. Everything worked out fine, in that respect.
 

I assume you understand that your KTTW tracks your spending the same way the MB does.

Yes, I understand that. My concern is the antenna and battery in the MBs. The cards only have RFID touch to touch technology. They cannot track you through the parks.

This isn't entirely true. The bands also have Bluetooth LE, and are confirmed on tear down to have a wider band antenna than needed for short range RFID.

While it is possible for Disney to theoretically track an individual through the parks, they won't because of the obvious privacy issues. What they will do is track guest movements anonymously in order to better predict traffic flow. This is something they already do, but the Magic Bands will help them do it in closer to real time, and with greater precision.
 
When we got our mb's one of ours had someone else's name. I called and they sent the correct one within a week.

Just curious, but this has nothing to do with the original post. Is there a reason you even decided to bring this up in this thread? We've had multiple threads on the RFID technology and the opinions of tracking and what not.

Anyway, OP, if you don't get the magic band by Monday, I'd call. What does it say on MDE when you go into the account? Does it say that it shipped? From my experience (we have 3 sets now), once it says the MB is shipped, it arrives the next morning because they send it UPS Next Day Air, unless it's the weekend. Then it comes on a Saturday or a Monday. Maybe the weather is causing some issues?
