Magic Bands are live on DME!

Not sure if this can be answered yet...

Let's say you have a group with mixed feelings about the MagicBands. Some of your group wants them and the others don't. The others want the new RFID card option instead.
Is it possible for part of the group to get bands, part of the group to get cards, and still be able to link the same FP+ times for everyone?

As far as I can tell this should be possible and would make sense, but I wasn't sure if anyone had encountered this in setting up their test.

It said this for me too. It also then said I have 2 days to do it myself or it will pick for us.

Also if you go into my disney experience and click on "my itinerary" under plan and manage it says select fastpass+ beginning August 18.

i have yet to see the option of picking a color for a magic band for my trip in September 13 but maybe it's because they already tested at the contemporary as that's my resort i will be staying.

question....is dining included on the magic bands? if so, how does that work? I'm sure you're not expected to take off your band and the server takes it, right? Will the servers have handheld scanners of some kind or do we use the old KTTW card for dining?

Just had an email from the IPO team and unless you have received "Official Notification" from Disney about being in a test group then you will not be receiving the Magic Bands. Apparently there are still issues with the MDE website which accepted our teenage son's details but wouldn't allow certain uses anyway! Hardly surprising really but it might have been nice to have this option to try it.
Ah well ...Gold KTTW cards it is then, just be aware people that this could happen to other families too.

I was just told that email invitations for this next test will start being sent out later today and not to do anything until you get one. I'm to expect mine next week, I guess. (Aug8 check-in @ Pop)

Yes, that has been part of the plan all along. It's just been taking a bit longer to implement.

The next Guest test has started. Anyone staying at AKL contemp pop or yatch club from aug 2 - aug 25 is being invited to participate. During the change over until normal FP is gone everyone will still get a KTTW card that can access normal FP. Yes your MagicBand will be mailed to you.

Right now I am SOOOOO jealous.

I am not going until September and hope they are continuing the testing.

Those staying in those resorts have just hit Disney Gold. You get FP+ AND FP-

Just customized my magic bands! Staying at POP and happy to hear we will still e able to get regular FP if FP+ is not toddler/preschool planning friendly. Just hope that is true!

No I was able to sign into MDE on full computer website and clicked on my MDE and then on cards and bracelets and it let me customize my bands and verify shipping address for them.

We encountered servers testing the scanners a couple of times at restaurants in June. They have iPods inside a scanner that reads RFID.

ok cause i'am already down to 59 days and i haven't been able to select my colors yet for the bands and ill be staying at the contemporary if so keep us up to date and see if your bands arrive to your door before your arrival date.

I think most of us are well under 60 days. I did mine this morning as well. My parents are doing there now. They will be there the week before us and had the MSEP and other events to choose. I only had rides for my 12 days. But my parents are at the 30 day mark and I'm a bit over that.

We are both staying at pop.

Question about all of this: We are AP holders, but are going to book the free dining package if/when it becomes available for a trip in November. In order to get the free dining, we have to buy 2 day MYW tickets. Will we be able to link FP+ to our AP's instead of our tickets with our package?

We had all options available this morning four our trip Aug 7-14. Anyone know if we will still be able to use regular FP if we don't schedule FP+ on certain days? Half of our party went the RO route with YES or Salute tix and aren't able to do FP+.

Hi!!! It let me make fastpass plans for the 4 adults and not the 2 children. I cancelled them b/c didn't know if they would let the kids on the rides or not. Website said children not eligible for fastpass+. Anyone have any info? And we don't have a full package, just room only.....exciting, thou....

Will do. It says today is my last day to customize them so I'm assuming that is to ensure that they arrive before we leave.

Problem- it says DD and DS are not eligible when I go to make ride fp+ selections. When we go to enter FP+ queue and times I wonder if they just let you bring your kids? Weird.
