Magic Band Uses If No Park Ticket Linked

Hi. We have a member of our party who may not be able to tour the parks. Therefore no park ticket will be linked to this person in MDE. I assume they could then use their Magic band for opening the room door and charging to the room, but was wondering if I am forgetting any other uses this person might have for the band?

meal plan, charging to the room and if you happen to pass somewhere that supports storyteller (some resorts have digital signs) they will interact with the band to learn who you are and make a custom wall art with your family name or where you are from when you go near it. If your pass by a photopass photographer or a photo booth (some in some resorts) you can also link the photos to the photopass account using it.

Other than that it's just a mickey head wrist band until your in the park.

What is the exact situation here? if they are in a disney resort, they get free magicbands. If you are adding them onto your room for a couple days I'm not sure if they would be eligible for the free grey magic bands when there isn't time to customize and ship but anyone can request a card instead of a magicband and it does all the same things in this case. You just get it from the front desk. the only difference is convinence of it being on your wrist but in this case, they wouldn't be pulling it out as much as you would in a park so it's not a huge problem.

Nobody has to have a magicband. The only thing a magicband is required for is photos from seven dwarves or frozen ever after and the couple rides that do ride videos. everything else you can just request a card from front desk that will be everything the band does outside the parks. then a hard ticket if you did go into the parks would be everythign except the photos and videos of your riding those couple rides (which you still have to pay for to get, but it's hard to buy if the photo isn't in your account).

I would probably skip the magicbands if they aren't going to set foot in a park.

The trip is still months away, and this individual will be staying the entire trip,and on Disney property, but due to medical issues may be unable to visit the parks during the stay. It is not 100% definite, so as of now magic bands are on order for all of us.

If they are not going to need the band at a time you are in the park, you can use if for same day fast pass
