Magic Band Question

This may seem like a simple question, but I just can't seem to find the answer. We are planning a split stay (Universal and Disney) in early December. We are staying at Universal for the first 4 nights and then staying at Disney for the remaining nights. On the day we plan on switching over, we want to head to EPCOT for rope drop. My question is, do we need to check in to our resort at Disney in order for our Magic Bands to be activated or can we just go straight to the park? In other words, will our magic bands work if we have not yet checked into our resort?

If your Magic Bands and Tickets show up in your MDE account you will be able to enter the park. You will need to pay for parking. It may be a challenge to get reimbursed for theme park parking at the resort later. Some have reported that they were not charged for parking some have been charged...
