Magic band options

Can't decide whether to buy my magic band ahead of time or wait until I get there. They're around $10 cheaper if I order ahead, but what if there's something that I like better at Disney Springs? Are there tons of magic band options in the stores? I'm not sure I like the look of the ones you print yourself, but my DIL would love Perry the Platypus if that's available.

I have been known to wear different bands with different outfits as long as they are all activated by adding them to MDE.

I wouldn’t say hundreds. I think there are about 60 or so available at any given time online. There are definitely more on property though, and not sure they are still around but there were some machines where you could select your own styles only available in those. Here is a YouTube link that shows what I’m talking about but it’s years old and I’m not sure those are still around.

There will be a lot more than are offered through the pre-arrival deal. Some of the ones listed though are pre-arrival exclusives that you won't find in shops, so take that into account too. You can always get a plain color one for 5 bucks and then buy one on-property if you like one. You can use them both if you want as once they are attached to your account they are interchangeable.

It's just a perk for on-site guests. They used to give you a free plain color one or you could pay for a special one. Some are only available that way and the price does vary based on the base price of the band.

I understand the option to order the discounted ones for Disney resort stays (I created a thread here about the options!). The OP did not specify that was the system they would be using, so I was hoping they would clarify what they meant. The selection for those bands differs from those available on property (with some overlap, of course).

For the OP, I'd recommend buying one of the $5 options with your resort stay, and then if you see one you really like onsite, get it and use them interchangeably!
