Magic band - limited options?

We are going in May: celebrating dh and mine 25th anniversary, older DD’s graduation from college, older DD’s boyfriend’s first trip, and younger dd is tagging along .

I want to get Magic Bands for their Easter baskets, but whenever I look there are only a handful to choose from. Are they being phased out? Will there be more released?

I've read more will be released but with current supply issues, I didn't want to take the chance and grabbed what I could. We're also going in May. I literally saw two solid colors disappear as I was hemming and hawing about it. I ended up getting my husband the black HM band hoping I can get a skin for it and myself the only solid color left (raspberry).

If you search on here, apparently an updated version is on the horizon.

They're supposed to be releasing a magic band + at some point, though not sure on the timeline. And yes, online options are extremely limited. They have a lot more available on site, but that doesn't help much.

They may be able to use smartphones for most of what MBs do. IF Disney ever gets the gremlins out of the mobile-not-magical syatem...

The MB selection on-property is as varied as ever. They may prefer to get a special edition one or a different design.

If you want MBs, I suggest to keep checking what's available to you in MDE. It keeps changing. I saw a Jiminy Cricket one (DH's favorite character) but by the time I checked with him and got around to ordering it, it disappeared from the offerings. Then we decided we would just use old ones. I kept checking and it became available again. It'll be delivered to the front desk of our hotel rather than my home, but I liked getting a substantial discount on the price.
