Magic Band Changes

Hi everyone! So the new Stitch Magic Band is coming out in a few days and I'm thinking of getting it for my friend, who's coming on our upcoming vacation. If I did, my friend who lives in Florida would be getting it and shipping it up here to RI. How do I transfer my friends ticket from his basic magic band to the stitch one? Or should I just wait until we get to the parks?

You don't transfer anything from MagicBand (MB) to MB.
Nothing is put "on" a MB.

You would "connect" the new MB (Stitch) to your friend's MyDisneyExperience account
(that's where all ticket info, FP+, etc. is stored) and then the new MB (Stitch)
-AND- your friend's CURRENT MB will both be ready for immediate and future use.

Using the ID number on the underside of the Stitch band, link it to your friend's MDE info. He can have more than one MB linked to him in MDE.

1. When you purchase the Stitch MagicBand, tell the Cast Member you would like it in the "Link It Later" option.

2. Bring the MagicBand home with you.

3. Open it and look on that back inside of it for the ID number formatted like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

4. Either you or your friend can do this: Log into your friend's My Disney Experience account at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/ from a desktop computer.

5. Go to the dropdown menu in the top right corner (hover over the My Disney Experience logo) and go down to MagicBands and Cards.

6. Scroll to the bottom of the page an click the Link button.

7. Select MagicBand in the list.

8. Enter the ID numbers and click Next.

9. You'll them be able to select the person to link the MagicBand to. Just select your friend and finish up and you'll be all set.

The MagicBand will work for your friend now as long as they have a valid ticket or pass linked to their account to get into the parks.

If you are staying onsite, yes they are free.

I thought you had to link the MBs that have a design at time of purchase and that only the solid coloured ones could be added at a later time, or is it only the LE MBs.
