Magic Band and Discount

So my family is currently here. We're all using the magic band, which charges back to our room, which will be billed to my mom's credit card at the end of their stay (I'm staying in the room).

Can I still use the magic band and my discount, even though my card isn't hooked up to the rooom?

When we were there with ny DD in December, she could do that at a restaurant or food cart, although she usually just showed her ID and we used our magic bands or another method to pay. We had been warned not to let anyone but her pay for merchandise using her discount so I gave her gift cards for purchases. I'm not sure about using a magic band tied to someone else's account- We were too scared to try.

As long as you are listed on the room reservation and use your MagicBand to pay, then yes, you may also use your cast discount. Keep in mind that the discount must be applied at the time of purchase. If you forget and pay full price, the hotel front desk can not post the discount for you, only the merchandise cast at the Point of Sale terminals can apply a cast discount.

I have done this many times. As long as you are using your MB and you are on the resort reservation, you will have no issues!

My understanding is that my kid has to show her cast ID for a dining discount to apply no matter who's paying.

At Disneyland it's every place other than outdoor vending (stands with drinks, churros, etc). There's a list on the Hub for WDW. I think every table service restaurant and hotel restaurant has a discount, but I'm not too sure. Off the top of my head, on my trip I couldn't get a discount at the stands, Gaston's Tavern, Be Our Guest (lunch -- didn't try dinner), Starbucks, and for Dining with an Imagineer.
