Magic Band Accessories On Sale Now!

I've been reading around the blogs today and it would seem that the accessories for the Magic Bands are on sale at Jambo House & The Contemporary which would support the posts that guests at those two resorts are testing at the moment. Looks like we're a step closer to them being rolled out!

The trial is from the 20-26 June so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Interestingly the trial was only for people staying in the regular rooms not the DVC rooms regardless of whether they were cash or DVC members.

I can see some logic in that

DVC people are return guests. Those who use their DVC points are not first timers
those who rent points already have a fairly good knowledge of how Disneyparks work (that's how and why they rented points in the first place)

So DVC guests are not a good test population, they know too much about how the system works.

To get a good "field test" you need to get as many "random" people as you can get. And in this case, as many "unsuspecting" guests as you can get.

Club level guests are not a target, they have IPO to do everything for them. DVC are not a target, as they all have a lot of visits under their belt.
Standard room guests are the only "valid" population when it comes to a test population for such a new system.

Sorry in advance, I'm a first timer !

The wristband contains the RFID chip that is currently in the plastic room key.

The are rolling out a new program which is call 'My Magic +' and under that will come the new fastpass + program where you can book you FP slots in advance.

At the moment there are no dates for rollout and a lot will depend on this weeks tests.

Personally, I am in no rush for them. As it stands you can only choose FP for one park per day and only 3 FP per day. Like ADRs I am guessing you are going to have to book the big rides as soon as the window opens at 60 days which is of no interest to me as we no longer plan which park which day. We go where we want - shock horror going to WDW is not a military operation for us

I'm not sure I'd want to wear a rubber wristband during the August heat and humidity - I usually take my wristwatch off because it becomes uncomfortable at that time.

I dont think you need to keep them on all the time, my kids wouldnt and i think they do up like a watch
