Somewhere on these boards was a picture that a cruiser took of their 4B stateroom verandah. They were either in room 8000 or 8500 as it was the room closest to the bridge on deck 8. One of the pictures that I'm hunting for was the view from that verandah of the wing of the bridge. The picture showed how close the bump out bridge was to their stateroom. The person who took the picture mentioned that they occasionally waved at the officers and sometimes those officers waved back. Now I've lost where I saw it.

Does this strike a familiar chord with anyone? If so, could you point me in the right direction of the correct thread? I've searched using all types of key words but can't seem to find it. It would either be of stateroom 8000 or 8500 on the Wonder or the Magic. :confused3:confused3

Here is a picture looking down on those staterooms from the curveout on Deck 9. We were staying in 8004 and friends were in 8000. You can see the bridge extension at the top of the picture. We saw officers out there quite often and they waved to those out on their verandahs watching them.

Did you like your stateroom? We are thinking of booking one of these rooms for our Alaska cruise next year. From what I've heard, these rooms at the end of the hall on deck 8 are quiet and a bit unique because people can get a good view of the officers working their "wonder" and "magic" on the extended bridge on both sides of the ship! Of course, they come at a price for their uniqueness!

This post came at just the right moment. We got room 8000 from our GTY status for our Alaska cruise next month. We are really excited that we might get to see to see the captains docking the ship. It looks like a great location. Thanks for posting the photo.

Thanks for that pic. Being able to see the crew out there i's exactly what my hubby wants so we picked 8000 for our Alaska '12 trip. We were in 8008 for the MR this year and watched the captain & it was very interesting!

You will have great views in Room 8000! If there ever is a good time to get such a vista, it would be standing on your verandah and staring out at the glaciers! Do you happen to have any pictures of your view of the bridge extension from Room 8008?

Many thanks to the person who posted the picture looking down and across at the bridge. That was really helpful and interesting.

But....somewhere else on these boards is a picture taken by a cruiser who was actually in one of those rooms on deck 8 near the bridge extension. You could clearly see the officers standing on that extension talking to each other. I can't remember where I saw it -- might have been in a trip report -- and I wish at the time I had made a note of it to find it again. It was a really good shot taken either in 8000, 8002, 8500 or 8502, I think -- of what your view is in one of the end rooms as you look over to the bridge. So if anyone comes across it, please report back to this thread!:):):):)
