I'm really liking Amazon's Buy back feature. They offered me $84 for some books, video games and movies I didn't want. Pretty cool and better than a yard sale :thumbsup2

I was laughing at me though because I can't bear to let go of my Disney DVDs yet, could probably get another $100 if I would.

How does it work?

They issue a shipping label. Most DVDs are worth less than $1 but if you are getting rid of them anyway...

lol... have a brand new ds 3d game and trade in is .05

thanks op.. I am moving soon so I will have to set aside books, cds and games and check them.

I only trade it if it's worth it. Gamestop won't take udraw games anymore and dd had one she didn't want. I got $10 at amazon for it.

Other times gamestop gives you a better deal. Books is hit or miss, some they give way more than I expected and some they want to give you .25, it just depends. They also take game consoles but they would not accept my xbox last time I tried. I've made some decent money in the past.

I've done this a couple of times, I only got $.25 for a few dvd's one time but I was just going to donate them so it added up to a few bucks. I have gotten $20 or $30 for a few wii games.

No they issue a shipping label so I just have to pack it up and drop off.

Thanks, that is good. I can imagine that shipping books would get expensive, even if they are going media mail.

Now, the money that you get for the items you trade in, is it just credit that you get for Amazon or do they send you an actual check?

I went to their website and couldn't find any mention of this. Where is it on their page?

How do you find out how much your items are worth?

Either type the item in the search box and when you click to buy it, it will say "trade this item for $1.00" or try and find the trade in store. There is usually a link at the top of the video game pages.

They take books, dvds, textbooks and video games.

You get an Amazon credit. That works for me though because I have a couple Subscribe and Save items I get once a month and who am I kidding, I shop there often  I got the Prime membership for 1/2 price because I'm a student and I just love it! I'm getting so I hate going to actual stores :)

I had some brand new sealed ones they only offered $1 for but I will hang on to those and try and get $3 at a yard sale this summer.

I was surprised they offered $23 for my Walking Dead book. Also the Disney videos were bringing $3-$5 each but I couldn't let go of many. I did notice the the Winnie the Pooh one I have was selling for $30 and up on the website. I didn't sell that one and will try and find out why it's selling for so much.

Thanks for posting this, I just got $70 for my old PS2 games and a few old movies that we weren't watching. If only I could find my bugs life movie I would have had an additional $12 for the Toy Story/ Bugs Life set. Still can't beat $70 that was just sitting around! :thumbsup2

I do this with our textbooks. Of course that money just goes back into more textbooks! LOL

It's a good deal though. They give free shipping both ways (if they decide not to accept your item).

Another vote for doing this with textbooks. I rented for a few years (Cheggs, etc) when they had free shipping, but when the free shipping to Hawaii didn't work out Amazon still had textbook buy-back which was great since I would send back my textbooks then buy Xmas presents and new textbooks!

Will have to look through our library/DVD collection as I wasn't aware they did this with other types of items ... Thanks OP!

Thanks for this! A lot of my books weren't accepted for buy back at school, which is silly because I don't highlight or anything, but they are accepted here. Sweet!
