Mad Hatter day after wedding brunch ideas

I am thinking about having a day after the wedding (vr) farewell brunch in the form of a Mad Hatter Brunch. Any ideas or experiences as in where would be the best place to have it and how to decorate or what to serve?

PrettyInTink, there is a FTW bride by the name of UnderTheMistletoe whose Mother-In-Law threw her a surprise Matter Hatter Tea Party for her bridal shower. It was held in the GF Convention Center’s Whitehall Room and patio area. She shared lovely photos of it early in 2006 (I believe her FTW was in Dec of 2005).

If memory serves me correctly, the tables at her party were decorated similarly to the tables at my Great Movie Ride dessert party : click here and click here.

Her party also had a few of the Mad Hatter props scattered about both the Whitehall Room and the patio area. (The guests dined on the patio but their food was served buffet-style inside the Whitehall Room.) I think the props that were used were the large teapot, a couple of the large flowers, and maybe something else (my memory is fuzzy). The props really made her party look festive. They were adorable.

As to characters, I believe she had both Alice In Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. As you can imagine, the characters were a big hit with her guests.

One last thing about her party. She did have a Mad Hatter cake. Here is a link to a post of hers that shows it: click here. Disney did a beautiful job with the cake.

I don’t know if UnderTheMistletoe still posts on the Dis (since I sporadically post here myself), but perhaps you could PM her for further information. Her party looked lovely and I hope to duplicate it one day in the future. It’s on my list of fun things to do.
