lyft or UBER

Which do you prefer when traveling around DLP, Lyft or UBER. I have only used Lyft, and had Great experiences around Disney World, and not so great in DLP.

BTW, generally speaking 'DLP' means Disneyland Paris here. We use 'DLR' for the Disneyland Resort. I assume you meant DLR.

I use Lyft, but only because I like the company better. Anyway, I think service wise they are about the same. I used Lyft to and from LAX on a recent trip to DLR and it couldn't have worked out better.

It doesn't matter. A lot of drivers drive for both. Just go with whichever is cheapest at the time.

We just returned from DLR. We used Lyft from LAX to hotel and then Uber from hotel to LAX I used both because I had coupons for each of them.

Both were great and prices were about the same.

I prefer Lyft because I’ve heard better things about the company. I’ve used Uber and the drivers drive for both and they always say they prefer driving for Lyft, so that’s kind of telling

Lyft seems to be more popular and reliable in the Anaheim area, I check both, but lately is seems like UBER is posting a lower price than adding a pick up fee so the price is not the price you pay. Its a good idea to check both because sometimes one will have no cars in the area.

I do Lyft. My understanding is that their background check is more in-depth, and during the early time in ride sharing, they treated their drivers better--something about additional insurance provided before law required it according to a Lyft driver on my last trip.

Honestly, LYFT drivers tend to be nicer and the service costs slightly less.

I used to drive for both. Both are essentially the same snake with a different skin. Your experience will 100% be dependent on the driver you get. Keep in mind also both Uber and Lyft lowered the minimum fare they pay the drivers (while keeping what they charge you the same or slightly higher if surge is in effect), so if your driver is good, a few dollars on a cash tip can go a long way in making their day. I believe the driver cut in so cal is now approximately .58 a mile and about .20 a minute with a 2.88 minimum fare pay.

LYFT. My daughter works in trust and safety there-one of their very early employees -she’s having a great week with the IPO . She believes that the LYFT background checks are much more in-depth. I believe they treat their drivers better than UBER (although both really should step up their game on that front.) I like that the cars are very identifiable with their lighted up pink signs.

I’ve used both no issues in CA. Last year I switched to Lyft after I was un-happy with how Uber customer service handled an issue a fam member had with a drive in FL. As mentioned above many drive for both.

If you’re a first time user check for discount codes. Uber tends to have bigger one use type codes while Lyft offers like $x off your first x number of rides. I think I saw like $30 off first ride via an Amex related coupon code for Uber.

If the car doesn’t pass check one OR the driver doesn’t pass check two DO NOT ENTER THE VEHICLE. CANCEL THE RIDE. Two steps might seem like verification overkill but it’s not. Do both checks, your safety is worth it

Always always always do this! There have been recent tragic cases where people have met with foul play when they got in to vehicles they assumed were their rideshare.

I’ve used rideshares for a few years myself and didn’t do the second part asking for my name before recent fake rideshare thing. I think it’s good practice because while faking a license plate is unlikely to happen it is likely that I might not read the license plate correctly or they might only have one on the back and I’ll be so busy with luggage and whatnot that I’ll tell the driver my name in an attempt to make sure they’re my driver and I’ll forget to verify the license plate prior to getting into the vehicle or might just quick glance and match a digit or 2 and assume it’s right... Recent events have made it clear that my old lax ways of verifying my rideshare are not enough and I will be absolutely diligent on all rideshares to verify both the license plate and that they know my name before I say it.
