LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

Let me tell you birthdays are huge for me and never have been important to my family; to the point I had to REMIND my own mother it was my birthday! Now my sisters are the same as my mother, rarely take the time to call me or my kids on the birthday and it is upsetting! You can't change other people and don't let them suck your joy!

YUK-O on the bad food, glad you are feeling better!

Have an awesome time if we don;t here from you before you leave, fill us in when you get back. And you now have to add another group to your friends list - your faithful Pre Wedding Journal Dis'ers pixiedust:

Okay, as far as the birthday thing goes.. you have every *BLEEP* right to be upset! I would be too! I'm actually incredibly sorry that I didn't wish you a happy birthday.. so here it goes...

 :hug:Happy Happy Birthday to youuuu!!!!!!

Okay, cool beans. I'm sorry it's a bit late. But my weekend was a bit chaotic and I was in a bit of a whirlwind.

Yes, you had every right to be pissed. Especially at your own mother. I wouldn't talk to my mother either if I didn't even get at least a text message! Screw the card, I don't want it!

I hope you are feeling better! :wizard:

And, with the wedding thing... I really can't say I blame you. I'd be the exact same way. If nobody cares, I don't want you there. If my own mother didn't care enough to discuss it with the family because I couldn't be there and it simply 'slipped her mind'.. F that.. it obviously isn't a priority to you about MY wedding cause I am YOUR daughter. So therefor, have a nice day and I'll call you when I get back.. if your lucky.

I'm incredibly sorry that you have to deal with this. I almost wish that we lived closed so we can have a little Starbucks date (put those giftcards to good use! :rolleyes1) and we can chat. No bride should ever have to deal with this! At all. I wouldn't call her on mothers day either. You sent the card. That's enough. Blah. What the heck is wrong with people.

Keep your head up girl and go with what YOU want to do! People would love to see you fold and do what they want.. but screw it. It's YOUR wedding and YOUR day. Do what you want!

Enjoy yourself mama!

I absolutely love reading your PJ, Deena. I read it all the time at work, I just never actually log-in when I get home to reply. I loved the mini TR with your stepmom and could 100% relate to the smoking thing. Drives me up a wall too! I really feel for you and the difficulty you are having with your family supporting what YOU want for your wedding day. I feel that way too sometimes - just the offhand comments people make. The one that has been getting to me lately is "can we leave the reception early?" I just think it's insulting. Really, you think I'm going to have that horrible of a reception that you will need to leave early? Thanks. A lot.

I'm only 21 days away and if I have one piece of advice that I've learned through this whole process it's this: your wedding day is about YOU. (And Dave, of course, but we all know it's mostly about you! ) Do what you want. Do what will make you happiest on your day. The people who complain about your wedding, going to FL, or whatever - they don't matter. You and Dave are the people that matter and as long as you are planning an event that will make you both happy, then you don't need to worry about anything/anyone else.

Happy Birthday, by the way! I had a terrible birthday this year too. And I love birthdays just like you. It sucks a lot when your family/friends/whoever treat you like that on your day. :grouphug:

First off...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, second, just BLAH to everyone. Seriously. I hate people. How about you and Dave have an escape wedding and you just invite us disbrides??!?!

Happy Birthday Deena!!!!!!:dance3:

I'm sorry your birthday was such a bummer! I don't blame you at all for being upset, I would have been too! And I hear you about the two weddings...why go to all that trouble for all those people who are giving you a hard time when you would be just as happy with something smaller and easier??? I say plan whatever the heck YOU want, small, big, giant production or tiny elopment...whatever YOU want for you and Dave and the heck with everybody else!! We will be cheering you on no matter what you do so just come here when you need a boost!

Hang in there and happy belated birthday!
Brooke

I am so so so so so so sorry about the birthday stuff. Ugh, that is a horrible feeling and I don't blame you for reacting the way that you did.

Don't worry, we are your family now, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug: party:

On a side note, did you know there is a website where you can exchange gift cards? So if you really don't want those Starbucks cards you can trade them for another store. http://www.plasticjungle.com/ There are several sites that do the same thing but I've heard this is the best one.

:hippie:

I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this from your family and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I love reading your PJ and look forward to the daily updates in my email each morning. :goodvibes

You're working so hard to have this wedding and you should really honestly have the wedding that YOU and DAVE want. The day is about you and it doesn't seem that anyone will be crying if they're not there to see you exchange your vows. Which is really what a wedding is all about. People will just be upset that they'll miss the party that you had to bust your butt to make happen.

I think you should take that day to imagine your ideal wedding day, think about who or what's involved and who or what you cannot live without. If that involves just you and Dave with Mickey and Minnie or a few more people to share the day then go with your gut. I just don't want you to look back and resent anything about your day. Also, work so hard for something and people just not understand.

Looking forward to your next post!!

Thanks Bunches  I just can't figure people out, lol. I told Dave about what I told her and he couldn't believe it, lol. He's at the point where he just wants to know where to show up

Thank you for the advice, and thanks for reading along!! It just sucks when I go out of my way for everyone else's birthday, go to all these celebrations, and dinners and surprise parties, and when it comes to mine--everyone is obviously too occupied. Lame. Hopefully our little trip gives us time to think about what WE really want. You're day is sooooooo close!! I'm excited for you!!

First off...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, second, just BLAH to everyone. Seriously. I hate people. How about you and Dave have an escape wedding and you just invite us disbrides??!?!

We'll have the first Disbride Reunion/Deena & David's Wedding :lmao: He'll be like... um who are these people?? I like it!! Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

Happy Birthday Deena!!!!!!:dance3:

Thank you!! I'm so thankful to all the dis'ers and their support!! I'm going to try to chill out and really think what's best for us. Maybe I'll let Dave give a little imput too, lol!!

Thanks!! I'll check out the plastic jungle!! I'll probably end up using the cards. I could probably caffinate everyone on the boards with what I have, lol. I'm also kind of glad that you agree with me :) I keep feeling like I'm over-reacting! Maybe I'm not as crazy as I think I am :upsidedow

Um whatever we decided... Mickey and Minnie WILL be there!!! Is it bad that I choose fictional mice over my family?? I just don't feel like people will appreciate what I'm working for and it kills me. I mean, I already had to give up the Napa Room because our family and friends can't act right in fancy settings. Ughhh, just think--in 2 days I'll be at the Saratoga Spa... in 4 days I'll be sitting on my balcony with a cup of coffee looking at giraffes. I am anxiously awaiting the break. Thanks for reading along!!

So Dave can't believe that I stood up for myself. He's willing to go with whatever I decide--I love him for that. My Dillard's girls got me some bath stuff from Philosophy and Bath and Body Works and that was fun!! Today I think I'm taking a 1/2 day because I still don't feel great from Sunday. I need to get off the boards and get my work done so I can leave. I need the extra time to get the house together and pack anyway. As always, thank you for your support and taking the time to comment--it means so much to me!!

<3 Deena

Girl, you are SO not overreacting. Enjoy your birthday break at DISNEY and I hope you feel better for your trip. :wizard:

First things first,

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!! :wizard:

I know Im a bad person for not commenting sooner..I really thought about you though!! It must have been my extreme car-sickness that deterred me from texting you...speaking of which i am NOT driving down for my wedding....whether my Mom is driving or not...it was NOT pretty. :headache:

Anyways, you are not being a brat or overreacting. I couldnt agree more...if somebody doesnt care enough to be there or keep you in their life I say cut them from the wedding...there are PLENTY of others that would love to be at your wedding and would be worth it to invite! I know of at least one Disbride that would gladly take a trip to be there for you! Cheer up..everything will work out one way or another. I just hope its what you want it to be.

YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO YOUR TRIP!! IM SOOOOO JEALOUS!! If youve got any extra room in your suitcases call me, I'll hop in and keep yall company!

There's plenty of room in our suitcases and in the villa :) Feel free to join!! I'm going to go on an undercover mission to look for markers around the WP again  I'll report back!!

So in the interest of using my giftcards, I risked being late for work by stopping at "the bucks" The line was crazy--I knew I'd be late, but didn't care. One of my clients that I've done her makeup for since she was a freshman is working there now and she spotted me in the back. Before I knew it, she handed me a Venti Mocha Frap and a pumpkin bread and told me to get to work that it was on her!! Pixie Dust :tinker: and I haven't even left yet!! The rest of the line looked at me like... ummmm yeah. See, I can't even spend the giftcards if I try!!

I needed that pick me up. Of course a disaster happened last night right before the trip. Dave wanted his hair highlighted. I do this all the time for him. I told him NOT to get a haircut before I do it because I need to be able to grab little strands and not chunks. So he comes home with a haircut, of course :headache: I told him I wasn't doing it, but he insisted. The lady cut him too short and I said it was going to look dumb, but I'd do it lightly. So I did, we washed it out and he wanted more :headache: I already thought it looked stupid. So I added more, told him I had to go do mine and told him the time to wash it out. So I go do mine--pretty much turned my whole sink and bathtub red, lol. I come out after 45 minutes and he's watching TV and hasn't washed it out  He said he wanted it really blonde. :headache: So I told him to immediately go wash it. He comes out and freaks out that it looks horrible and it's all my fault. He flipped out and still won't talk to me. This is not my fault, and although I feel badly because he looks dumb--he shouldn't have got a haircut yet in the first place--that's what started the whole drama. I even tried to compensate by changing our Turf Club reservation to Shula's (which I thought was a really good thing) and he wouldn't even come look at the menu. He said if he can't order the $85 steak he doesn't wanna go there. I bought the restaurant.com coupon anyway and I guess we'll see. He has no business ordering a 48oz steak anyway. It's always something, I swear. He said we could afford it if I didn't have to go to the spa. :furious: So my plans of finishing cleaning and getting packing done were ruined by fights over hair color. Well I think he was extra mad that mine turned out FABULOUS. Just sayin :rolleyes1 It's a dark cherry and soooo pretty--I love it!! I will probably ruin all of Disney's towels for the next week, and it will probably bleed at Typhoon Lagoon... but oh well :)

I just checked us into our flights. We didn't get to be in the same row. I'm in 12... he's in 15. That means I can't punch him if he starts to snore  Tonight I need to finish cleaning and pack. I'll most likely be up until 4am. I'm getting excited, but for some reason, I'm not as excited. Maybe because I went 7 weeks ago and it was awful? Maybe I'm going too much?? Maybe when you get to the point where you know every menu to every restaurant, can request certain waitstaff and they know you, can walk around with no map and can recite show times by memory--it's too much?? I know once I get on the plane I'll be all giddy, but today I feel like I'm under lots of stress to get ready. His brother is taking us to the airport in the morning . He's the type where you wish someone would just take out his batteries to make him stop for a minute, but unfortunately the batteries are trapped by screws and you don't have a screwdriver handy so he just keeps going. That happened with the Furby I made my stepmom stand in line for at 5am... it kept waking me up going "hungwy", I didn't have a screwdriver, so I took a hammer to it in the middle of the night. True story.

Okay my lovelys... I'm going to surf for a bit then do some work. I can't wait to come back and tell you allllllllllllllllll about it :cutie: Have a great week and to all the DisBrides and Grooms getting married this week... Congratulations!!!

Happy belated birthday! Your plans look great! It's making me hungry looking at them (and making me research flight prices to florida because I'm going through Disney withdrawal!) how did you find out about the DIS engagement? That will be so fun to witness!

Okay, first off.. your little Furby reference literally made me LOL. Ha. You called your future bro-in-law a hungwy Furby! DIEING over here!! ;D My cousin stole mine for a day and had it saying some 4 letter words by the end of the day.. ha. Ohhh Furby's! So creepy yet so fun!

Yay for dark cherry! Girl we match! I always turn our tub red too!

Don't worry about not being excited.. it'll kick in. You just have too much other stuff going on right now that you aren't fully focused and in Disney mode. I'll give you a day or so and you'll be ripping and raring to go with no screwdriver to get your damn screws out! ;D

<3 <3

TODAY IS THE DAY!! TODAY IS THE DAY!! :cool1::cool1:

Good luck on your flight, hope you dont get sick. Please enjoy yourself and your time off, you really deserve it!! Have a wonderful time. I cant wait to read all about it when you get back! Oh and thanks for the spying on the new DVC at the GF ;) Youre awesome!

Ride some awesome rides, Im sooo jealous! Have a blast girl!

I hope you two have wonderful birthday celebrations!!! I'll have to look at your schedule again and maybe I can find a time where we can bump into each other. :goodvibes

Edit: just looked. I could possibly see you on Friday when you eat breakfast at Kona! (Cause that's where we're eating for Chris' bday breakfast too!)

Have a fabulous time in the world! Take lots of pictures, and I can't wait to hear about it. I'm sure you'll be stoked by the time you're on the plane tomorrow!

Have a wonderful time, hopefully Dave will have gotten over his haircolor drama by then! Your plans sound wonderful to me. Haven't had time to go to the water parks in years, that sounds like so much fun!!!!

This trip will be LOTS better than your last trip because a) you'll be with Dave b) you will be able to do what you want without SMOKE BREAKS and c) you won't be with someone who stresses you out and makes you crazy!!

Have fun, can't wait to hear all about it!!

the excitement did kick in--in the morning. the night before dave threatened not to go and we got into it--yadda yadda yadda--he was mad i was asking him to help clean the house for the dog sitter. i do ALL the housework and it was crunch time and i needed a hand--he went to bed, I stayed up until 4 to clean and pack. i honestly had no idea until his alarm went off and he got in the shower if he was going to work or going with me. it was a little weird i must say. when he woke up, he was happy-chipper dave with hugs and kisses telling me we were going to see mickey mouse and stitch, lol. maybe he was just tired :confused3 BOYS :headache:

Have a wonderful time!!

________________________________________

I'm backkkkkkkkkk. Of course over 10 days there was plenty of action to report about!! Let me first say that I had a panic moment for this year's disbrides when I saw some big huge tent thing around the proposed construction site. We never got close enough to see what it was, but it looked like an event after I calmed down, lol. (I have pictures) They were taking it down on the day we left so I couldn't see if there were markers or anything with all the pieces and people everywhere. BUT! We took the DVC tour (for the 2nd time because now we're quite serious about it) and we were passed between the guy at the initial sales site, the van driver and our sales person and none of them denied the upcoming GF DVC. They said they really aren't being told anything, but are probably hearing the same things we are. I stated I was nervous about my wedding and one was like, "oh well it's probably far down the road, when's your wedding?" i told him november 2012 and he gave me a look like he swallowed a lemon and was like, eh, I don't really know. That's all I could come up with--I tried. We really want to buy into BLT, and it's almost sold out. This makes me so sad because how in the world can we do all of this at once??

So more about the trip... first day was check in at Saratoga. We got lunch at the Turf Club and it was meh. It may have been what I ordered, it may have been that I was still battling the stomach flu and I was just not happy with anything (except the glass of Magicale :lmao:). Dave let me add a facial to my spa for my birthday, so we went in and rearranged my time. This resort is huge, and we're apparently map illiterate. We walked around for 2 1/2 hours with our luggage trying to find our room. Yes... we know about bell services, but we thought it was close?!? Finally we get to the Grandstand (request for Springs not honored) and we got our text at 4pm that our room was ready (We checked in at 12:30pm). The privacy sign was on the door and all I could think about was 4 Guzan's waiting on the other side :rotfl:. When I opened the door, it hit something. The vacuum was in the middle of the hallway by the door, still plugged in, wire running thru the room. Dirty towels on the counter, smeared toothpaste on the sink and spanish TV blaring. Really? I had to be at the spa at 4:30 and it was clear across town  Plus I had to deal with this. Dave just laughed because he knew I was :headache:. So I call the front desk, they tell me they can send someone to the room to clean it because the resort was sold out. No it wasn't--I looked online the previous day and it was wide open. So they transfer me to housekeeping. Housekeeping said they couldn't clean it today because I had the privacy sign on. I JUST GOT HERE! Someone WAS in here and started to clean--then left. So I'm heated now, I waited 3 1/2 hours for a room which I thought was a bit much, and I was getting sick from lunch and just wanted a room! I'm transferred again to a manager. I was livid by this time from the housekeeping lady and I have to be at the spa in 20 minutes and Dave wanted to nap. So the manager re-confirmed there was nowhere to move us that wasn't really far away from everything. I told her about the Guzan issue, that we waited 3 1/2 hours for a room that was abandoned and dirty, then the housekeeping manager lied to me and I was going to be late for a 3 treatment spa appointment. She was super nice and apologized, understood me, and said that she would have housekeeping right over and she was crediting my spa appointment $150 and that I could still use my $50 off coupon giving me $200 off my spa appointment  Great for me!! Bad for Dave that wanted to sleep, but had to get out for mousekeeping. He went to DisneyQuest then came back to nap. I went to the spa and it was the most fantastic experience ever. I really really really want to do this again soon!! I had a 50 minute swedish massage, reflexology and a custom facial. There was tea, water and fruit in the lounge, showers with all products you need, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, a room to get ready with curling irons, hair dryers, combs, q-tips, etc etc, the lockers were easy..... ahhhhh I just loved this place!!! I think I needed it and it really was a great way to start the trip! I got back, changed and we were off to Ohana!! We got to see Wishes and have a great meal!! When we were waiting for our table, Dave wondered into the gift shop and found they had 4 bottles of Magicale left. It's confirmed that it's discontinued and will be replaced on the menus with Rosa Regale. I know they say it's the same, but in my mind, Magicale is better. I went to get a bottle after dinner but I got there at 11:02 and they wouldn't let me in :( Boo. We got back and passed out, didn't set an alarm for the next day and figured we would just do whatever.

Blah. Well I'm not going to play by play everything, but that first day was a whirlwind. Seriously. I highly highly recommend the Saratoga Springs Spa!! I can't wait to go back!! I have my other job tonight so I'll probably have pictures Tuesday night. I also made dining ressies for November today!! We're going with the regular DDP since it's food/wine and so far I have Rose and Crown, Ohana, Captain's Grille and Via Napoli. We may change Captain's Grille to Shula's if we come in to some extra $$. Shula's is the absolute BEST meal we've ever had in our life. I should not have gone there because I am spoiled now.

Okay, I'm going to surf for a bit... then if I get bored... I'll be back
