So we are flying in early on Saturday 3/27 and expect to arrive at AK around 10:30 am. I assume by the time we get to the park the line for FoP will be long and I like to wait in the lounge while my family rides. My hope was to get stand by at Nomad Lounge around 11, but now I'm wondering if that will even be possible. I currently have a 1:45 at Tiffins, but I'd much prefer the lounge. If I let the Tiffins go, can't get in the lounge, what are your thoughts on Satu'li Canteen during covid? Hard to get a mobile order? Enough social distancing to feel comfortable eating there? I feel so out of my element with all the changes!

Thanks for any advice you have to offer!

I was there the week after reopening, so what's happening now may not reflect what I experienced in July. That said, I had no issues with mobile order, and at Satu'li there are plenty of indoor seats as well as outdoor seating should you choose to do that.

We love the food at Satuli Canteen. In November we did mobile order there, and CMs were stationed outside not letting anyone in unless they could show the Your Order is Ready message on their phone. So there was plenty of seating inside and out. Very good distancing.

PS Nomad Lounge has a walk-up waitlist you can access via MDE. When you open it, it will tell you an estimate of the wait and you can sign up in MDE, don’t even have to be near the lounge. The app will notify you when they’re ready to seat you.

Love the food at Satu' Li. One of the best CS at WDW.
have not tried Tiffins for lunch, but enjoy their dinner menu.
We have not eaten at Nomad, but love their drink menu, always a stop for us.

I've been to Nomad Lounge on my last 2 trips - October and January - both times on a Sunday.

This is how they are handling the Wait List:

1st - they seat anyone that is already waiting in line (I got in line around 10:30 as I saw a line was beginning to develop). They actually manually add you to the wait list (my guess is to help them keep count of # of parties)
2nd - after everyone that is physically waiting is added to the wait list, it's then "opened up" for anyone to join.

If I were you, I'd go straight to Nomad Lounge and get in line if it's started (or start the line yourself). With the outdoor tables and the bar area, there's lots of tables to be had if you're in line.

(Edited to add: I did not eat at Satu'li Canteen on either trip, but anytime I was in the area it seemed pretty busy - granted I didn't go into Pandora until after Noon on any of the days I was there)

We ate here on Feb 14 and this is still the procedure. This was actually the procedure at every QS place we dined, and it was SO much better than the previous free for all for tables! At several places they actually brought us to a specific table as not all were in use.

Thanks for the input - We were using mobile orders at QS in 2019 but sometimes it was hard to find a place to sit down. This seems like a better/safer way to handle it during covid.

I think I will go right to Nomad when we get to the park and send my daughter and husband off to get in line for FoP. They can catch up with me afterward (which is usually our procedure, but I don't often have trouble getting a table that early).

I have a Tiffins reservation for that day, do you think they would not charge me the fee if we just ate at Nomad instead? I didn't want to risk not having a place to sit and eat.

I would not count on it.

If you just want a nice place to wait and aren’t tied to having a meal, there are nice relaxation station in AK. The one at Pizzafari has inside and outside areas and there is also one at the character greeting location next to the river. That one is nice as you can see the character barges go by.
