E.

I read in Prevention magazine (while eating my salad) that 30 minutes of brisk walking burns 120 calories--the equivalent of 2!!!! (only 2!!!!) oreos. Guess that takes the idea of a exercise-earned splurge out of the picture, doesn't it? :p Somehow, when it counts as 2 Points, it seems like more to me.

Had a  morning at the preschool and feel beat this afternoon. I think I'm going to walk over to D. Donut and get a cup or quart :p of coffee. I haven't had p.m. coffee in about a week, but today I'm :faint: . Today's one of those days I'm reminded I'm 43. At least my hips and back don't hurt from carrying extra pounds like they used to.

OK, I've got to focus and get my plans for the afternoon into gear.
First coffee ;) , then organization.

E.

:faint: Ack! I can't do the daily weighing thing, but I am *so* glad it works as a tool to keep you focused.

I think the plan of maintaining throughout the holidays is an EXCELLENT one!! Maintainence will be the key for the rest of our lives, so trial period during such a food-filled time sounds great. You can do it! We are here to help!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi Erin,

I like that you have reevaluated where you want to be. I have to agree with Doe, 10pounds in 6 weeks might be a bit much at the holidays. I do know that if you set your mind to it, you'll do it though.

I hope your coffee got you through the day. Take care,
Beth

11/12/04 Yay! It's Friday!

Here's how it's going today:

(Edited around 3:30)

1. Devotions :D
2. Vitamins :D
3. Water--had about 5 glasses
5. Food--pb on lite bread, 1/4 cup of oj, coffee w/cream, chicken salad, snack will be an apple, dinner will be 2 slices of pizza and s.f. hot chocolate for dessert
6. Scale :D

I'm going to put a load of laundry in and putter around the house before I head into work at noon. I like Friday mornings!:D We have a busy weekend planned, so if I can get a couple of chores done today, it'll just make things go smoother Sat. and Sun.

I'll stop by later,
Erin:

4. Exercise :D
Three loads done and waiting to be put away. . .

What, no Friday party here in your journal??? Why should I have all the fun?!! I'm sending the band your way to play for awhile! :rockband: Can you hear them?? They're supplying some much needed :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: on this grey Friday! :p Time to get up and dance, Erin!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I love your new siggie scale! I hope to see it movin' on over to the right! If you keep earning all those smilies, it WILL happen! ::yes:: This "no sugar" thing is working out great for me and I bet it will help you too! The less we eat it, the less we miss it!

Enjoy your easy-going morning and best wishes for a fabulous Friday!!

Your ticker countdown is awesome! I'm going to check out that website and see if I can find something for the marathon training! Have a great Friday Erin!

~Amanda

:rockband: I'm doing the Friday Groove Thing, Doreen! Thanks for sending the band over!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: .

A 6 Smilie Day! :Pinkbounc

Saturdays are a bit challenging 'cause I'm out of my routine, so I'm going right downstairs to get some water and take those vitamins. No exercise today--it's a rest day. Got in the scale--it's starting to creep downward verrrrrryyyy slowly.

Off and into the day. Onward and Upward, friends!

Erin

Way to go Erin!!!!:cheer2: You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!::yes::

Erin... quick question.. have you ever read A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George? I'm curious because I am looking for someone to discuss this book with. It's got so much great information and so many great suggestions, that I am having a hard time processing it all.

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi, Tracy! No, I haven't read this book, but I'm going out shopping with a friend this afternoon, and I'll ask her to take me over to the Christian bookstore and see if they have it. I love a good book and discussion! Anyone want to join us?

Erin

Today's 11/14.

Update from yesterday:

1. Devotions: 13/30 :D
2. Vitamins: 11/30 :D Today I have to load up my little vitamin pill box.
3. Water: 12/30 No, I can't give myself a smilie here. I was too busy running around. I didn't drink enough.
4. Exercise: 10/30 No smilie 'cause it was a rest day.
5. Food: 9/30 Oh, DEFINITELY NO smilie here. I had sugar in the form of a fresh, hot Krispy Kreme donut last night after shopping with DH.
6. Scale: 5/30 :D I saw that little guy start to move down, but after yesterday's donut, I couldn't look at it this morning!

I'm home this morning because I just had to cut myself a break. I emailed my choir director last night and told him I was going to miss our church service because I had to sleep in--pathetic, but at least it was truthful.

Have to pick up DD from friend's sleepover in a little while. Also want to do some baking today. I doubt I'll get a smilie for food--I have to try this pumpkin roll I make. I want to give it as a gift during the holidays and take it to family and church functions, so I have to give it a taste, don't I?;)

I'm heading over to Christianwomentoday.com to do my devotions. . .

Erin

Erin,

Even God needed a day of rest on the 7th day. You've gone a long time without a break. I think listening to your body was a great thing to do. I'm sure the choir director appreciated your honesty too. I hope you got a ton of rest yesterday.

Have a Marvelous Monday,
Beth

11/15
Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping by, Beth. Tracy, I didn't get that book yet--had a little change of plan. I'll look for it today if I get a chance.

Update as of 11/14:

1. Devotions 14/30 :D Read them this morning.
2. Vitamins 11/30 Forget them yesterday, took them today.
3. Water 13/30 :D Drank a lot
4. Exercise 10/30 Yesterday was rest day, too.
5. Food 9/30 Sugar, too much food. :sad2:
6. Scale 5/30 Nope, wouldn't get on it this morning. Tomorrow, though, I have no choice.

I'm feeling tired and yukky this morning; I'm heading straight into the pit of the DZONE, but I least I know the end is in sight. I've ridden the wave before; I'll do it again. I'm going to clean up the bedroom and then try to take a little doze before taking my walk and folding laundry. This afternoon I'll run some errands and then head to work.

By the way, my pumpkin roll was darn delightful, if I do say so myself.:p

E.

Taking care of yourself is never pathetic. If you needed to rest and sleep then you needed to rest and sleep - you shouldn't feel bad about that.

Ride that wave Erin - I know you can do it! Just don't let that D-zone have control! I'm sending you lots of :wizard: to get through the day.

~Amanda

Dear Erin, I'm afraid the sugar monster got me too over the weekend. I think he's been working overtime!!

It's a new week and hopefully we both can jump back on the no-sugar bandwagon. I've been good so far today and am going to try REALLY HARD to earn a smilie in this area for today.

I'm glad you took a break from singing at church yesterday. I know that you're committed to witnessing through your music and I'm sure your church family is very blessed by your gifts. However, even God didn't work 7 days a week like you do. You truly do need to rest sometimes.

My scale has reflected my poor weekend choices, too. Tomorrow it will reflect the good choices I'm determined to make today. I bet your scale will reflect your good choices too. We can do this! :hyper2:

I've never read the book Tracy has suggested but I'm always up for a good book. I may try to pick up a copy at our local Christian bookstore tonight - it is next to Blockbuster and we have some movies to return.

Hope you have a wonderful Monday! :sunny:

Erin, I remembered my vitamins finally!! Thanks for helping me remember them!

I picked up a copy of A Woman After God's Own Heart and will start reading it! I'm excited about this book!

Hi Erin,

I'm sending some big  and :wizard: your way today. I hope that you are feeling better.::yes:: I'm glad to hear that you took a day for rest. Even our Lord had a rest day.:teeth:

When you pick up the book, please let me know how you like it. This book has challenged me to take a look at different areas of my life and see if my priorities line up with God's priorities. I read it through once, am currently re-reading it and doing the study questions, and will re-read it again for clarity.

Take good care of you princess: Erin.

Tracy:wave2:

Let's see, today's November 16, 2004.

Here's my update, as of yesterday:

1. Devotions 15/30 :D Got the Tracy's book, "Woman After God's Own Heart." More on that later. . .
2. Vitamins 12/30 :D
3. Water 14/30 :D
4. Exercise 10/30 Bagged on this one yesterday. Took a nap instead. This was a nap I really needed as yesterday was what I call a "Dishrag Day." Around TOM I become depleted and exhausted--no exaggeration here--I'm akin to a dishrag! Taking that nap helped me to manage effectively the rest of the day. Today is a bit better so I'm may do the treadie or I may surprise the puppy and take him for a walk. We'll see. .
5. Food 9/30. No smilie here; I had a small, conservative piece of pumpkin roll :p . No binge eating and no sugar other than that roll.
6. Scale 5/30 I didn't get on yesterday, but I did get on this morning. Holding steady at 175. Could be better, could be worse.

So yesterday was a 3 smilie. All things considered, I can deal with that. I don't, however, want to lose steam, especially since Thanksgiving and more temptations are coming! I've definitely got to treat myself right!

So, it seems Doreen and Tracy and I have a book club!:Pinkbounc
How fun! The book gave me a chance to shop at Lemstone, our closest Christian book store. I love going in there. You can just feel the peace and goodwill. Anyway, I've got the book and have just finished chapter two. My plan is to read a chapter a day during my devotional time. . .I'm eager to read more, but I want time to digest what I've read. Like you said, Tracy, it's challenging. Today's chapter was on establishing a firm root system through Bible reading. How many times have I set out to read the Bible in a year??? I want to try again, though, and reading this chapter has made me think more about it. There are several online programs, but I want to read with the Book in my hands, so I found a website and printed out out plan. Maybe I'll start January 1st? Maybe I won't wait? We'll see. . .

OK, I'm off into the day. :grouphug: to all my WISH buddies,
Erin

Edit:
3 glasses of water so far:D
30 minutes on the treadie :D
Vitamins :D
