Hurray for no binge eating!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
I know it can be a struggle, but you made it! I'm proud of you! ::yes::

You did a great job yesterday, meeting all your goals! I hope today goes just as well! We've really started this month off right, Erin, and every day we meet all our goals is another day of treating ourselves right, like the WISH princess: princess: we are! We DESERVE to be healthy - physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally and we're making it happen, with God's grace and our WISH friends.

A day off for your DD?? I'm happy for her!! I remember the joy of a day off school! I bet her eyes are sparkling and happy!

Enjoy your walk with Mickey - cool that you BOTH are getting your exercise! :cool1: :cool1:

Hello princess: Erin,

You did an AWESOME job yesterday. No binging on a crazy long day. I hope that today is easier for you.

WISHing you a conflict free day,
Beth

I received the marathon booklet yesterday . :sad1: That's all I want to say about that.

So I'm off into the day. It's a long one, but I may get a chance to drop by some journals later. Be on the lookout!:D

Erin

Edit: had my vitamins and more water and a few potato chips:rolleyes: with lunch. Not a good choice, but I really didn't have too many. This afternoon I'm going to walk to the nearby drug store and pick up some candy for my "Teacher's Treat Jar."
That'll add a couple of steps to the old peddy. So far my reading for the week is 25,706.:hyper: ;12.57 miles.

Edit: Had apple and a pack of crackers during the evening. May have the sandwich, might not--I'll have to see when I get home.
Consciously drank water and decaf tea throughout the day. Peddy is up to 29057; I may have to walk around the driveway half a dozen times just so I can go to bed knowing I hit 30K!

All your smileys look great! :smooth: That is fantastic! And your lunch today sounds yummy! Did you buy that or did you make it?
I'm on a food kick for some reason this week - everything makes me hungry.

Have a super day today!

~Amanda

Hi Erin,

Great ob accomplishing your goals this week. You are doing a great job. Amanda is right, your lunch sounds yummy. I hope your long day runs smoothly.

Take care,
Beth

Good morning, Erin!! :sunny:

Lots of smilies here - must be all those healthy goals you've been setting AND meeting!! November has started on a very upbeat and successful note for you!! ::yes:: Be proud of you, WISH-sis, for this healthy living stuff is not always easy!

So sorry for your unwelcome mail. :( If you'd like to set a spring-time or summer goal for a more local event, let me know and I may join you. Even if it's a shorter distance, we can always do some of our famous training walks, make it a fun day and have the thrill of crossing the finish line. You know I love to have a goal to keep me exercising (and going to lunch afterward). :teeth:

Your menu for the day looks perfectly yummy!

:sunny:

:scratchin Hmmm, I'm thinking now, Doreen. I think I'd like to do that. I'll check out the AVA calendar--I wonder though if it's ready for 2005? I'll also check into some other organizations.

I teared up the most when I saw the pic of the two women with the Statue of Liberty hats showing their medals. I told DH, "That was supposed to be Doreen and Me." OK, enough:sad1:. My pity party is done. I know that the decision to withdraw from the half was difficult, but it was responsible. Time to move on. . .

E.

You're so sweet! That's OK, we can set our own goal! Todd keeps telling me to remind you that his offer still stands ;) .

There's an AVA walk in my hometown Dec. 11 & 12. I'm a fair weather walker though so won't commit until a few days before when I can check out the weather forecast. Last Sunday was so beautiful that Todd wanted to drive to New Hope & do the year round walk there. :p If you're ever bored & the weather's decent, give me a call! To quote someone I dearly love "I'll walk for cheesecake!" :teeth: Heck, I'll walk just to see you & chat! ::yes:: For that matter, we don't even have to walk! :teeth: :hyper2:

Sending you a WISH-sis

Hello LULU:wave:

A new month, new plan? Looks like you've een feeling the carb attack as I am also. Is it the chilly weather? Have you been too busy to walk? & do I sense that you are not going to the marathon? what happened?
Miss chatting with you, any time to schedule a session? I see you & Doreen may do one in December. did I just write december, ugh time is passing too quickly.
Have a terrific Thursday:wave2:

I hope today finds you smiling in spite of the grey skies. We've got to make our own sun sometimes, right?? Here's a little extra to help you get a jump on the day - :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: .

Good morning, friends. A little orientation here: it's 11/4/04, Thursday, and I'm off this morning!:teeth:

OK. MeMe, I think I dealt with my half marathon tragedy while you were sailing the Caribbean. The short version is that I withdrew from the walk because of financial, time, and school issues. The long version I'll give you the next time we walk. . .I'll have to bring a few tissues along, however.:(

There must be some misunderstanding.:p I never said I was walking OUTSIDE in December. No way, Joses, it'll be DECEMBER!!! Enough said about that.:p Now mall walking. . .near the Cheesecake Factory. . .with some Christmas shopping thrown in. . .well, now we're talking MY kind of December walk!:p :hyper:

Here's how it's looking on the healthy living road so far this month.

1. Devotions 3/30; I also read dailyguideposts.com this morning. The Prayer for the Day spoke to me so much, I copied it down:
"Lord, give me the grace to support people I love in making their own choices and decisions." Is that a prayer for the mother of a teenager or what?!?

2. Vitamins 3/30; Big mistake this a.m. I took the vitamins BEFORE breakfast. That's the recipe for nausea. Bad move there.

3. Water 3/30; I'm drinking like a maniac this morning. I woke up feeling kind of lumpy and tender. . .did you know PMS could start at DAY 15????? As my daughter would say, "IT'S NOT FAIR!"

4. Exercise 3/30; Walked Mickey around the block then hopped on the treadie for an easy 2 miler. :D

5. Food 3/30; No binge eating last night when I came home from work. The scale is liking my abstinence (sp?) from compulsive eating.:D
B--cinnamon banana oatmeal
L--small buffalo chicken salad; homemade by me! I just bake a couple of Tyson's chicken tenders, add some hot sauce and some blue cheese dressing (and some other veggies) and that's it, Amanda.
S--apple and cheese crackers
D (around 8 p.m.)--a tuna sandwich on rye and some s.f. pudding

I'm hoping that I can make these habits such a basic and steadfast part of my life that they'll help keep me well and strong in the years ahead.::yes:: With God's help, right?

Looking upward, moving onward,
Erin

Edit: had my salad and a 1/4 cup of chex mix. Think I'm going to cut back on my p.m. sandwich and make it a half-er instead of a whole.::yes:: I'm drinking that water.:drinking1 Cut up lots of veggies to have on hand.

Good afternoon Erin:wave2: looks like today is shaping up well:) I did not read about the marathon withdraw and I'm not sure I want to her whyif you need tissues:( Tomorrow the weather says high wind & a shower so let's not schedule just incase, but soon ok? I'm going to check out the dailyguideposts now. Teenager giving you a hard time? I have sooo much to look forward to:rolleyes: See ya soon!

Hi Erin,

Mall walking at Christmas time is my favorite type of exercise. Why not have fun with exercise. Throw in Cheesecake and :cloud9:

I hope you enjoyed your morning off. I love the devotional. I may copy that one down.

I hope your nausea is gone. Try a little milk, if it isn't.
Beth

Dear Erin, could you pass those tissues?? I just got my marathon booklet yesterday and had the same reaction you did. (sniff, sniff) I think you and I really NEED to set a closer-to-home shorter-length goal for spring or summer. I'll check on options later today and send you a PM. Maybe some other local DISers will join us (are you reading this, MeMe??). Maybe our families would be interested in doing it too? Hmmmm, lots of ideas spinning in my head - let me know what you think!

I'm always up for a mall walk. Send me some possible dates & I'll check my schedule.

Sending you a big  and hoping you know how very wonderful it is to have you as a friend.

Love ya, WISH-sis!

It does my heart good to come to my journal and see that my friends have visited. Thanks, everyone.:grouphug:

It sure would be fun to do a walk somewhere local. . .when it's
warm and :sunny: . :p I haven't had a chance to check around at what's available, but I will.

I'm just popping in to update before I go out for my walk with Mickey. We're going to a nearby park to do 2.3 miles; I may have to carry poor Mick at the end, but yesterday was his rest day ;) so I'm hoping he'll make it. He weighs about 24 lbs., so carrying him makes me think about what it was like to be that much heavier and carrying that weight around on my bum! We didn't go out earlier as I was hoping it would warm up a bit. The sun is out and it's windy, but I'm going to put on all my Nike winter training clothing and make the best of it. I may not be going to the half, but I still have some darn nice things to wear!:p

So far in November:

I'm 4/30 for reading my devotional. Finished today's around 6:45 a.m.

I'm 4/30 taking my vitamins. I've got to run down and take today's when I'm done here.

I'm 4/30 for drinking my water. Haven't had any yet today:rolleyes: but I will when I'm done here!

I'm 4/30 for exercise. Haven't walked yet today:rolleyes:  , but I WILL when I'm done here!

I'm 4/30 for NO BINGE EATING. Last night I was tired and stressed and I wanted to eat my way through the kitchen--just like you, Doreen--but I held back. I'm glad for it today. Breakfast was a slice of toast w/pb, a glass of milk, and coffee. Lunch will be some tuna salad and a soft pretzel. Dinner will be homemade pizza and salad, fresh pineapple for dessert. I've been drinking green tea in the afternoon. :teeth:

I've been reading more on perimenopause  and know that the night sweats and palpitations I'm beginning to have tie into my hormonal roller coaster. Everything I read tells me to KEEP doing all that I'm doing to stay healthy, more even-keeled, and maintain bone density. I like feeling pro-active.:D

OK, I've gotta go do all the stuff I haven't done yet. I hope to stop in and out throughout the day.

Erin

Edit: had a snack of pineapple after the walk. The wind was fierce, but the walk was beautiful--Mickey and I saw a buck, doe, and two fawns all posing together like I was going to take their picture or something. Mickey made it the whole way, but he's asleep at my feet as I write this. Had my vitamins and one glass of water. . .it's a good day.:D

Edit: pretzel from the new pretzel shop across the street (hey, this is the Philly suburbs people), tuna, and veggies. Also had a little packet of peanut m and m's that I'd been saving for tomorrow. DH agreed to go sugar free until Thanksgiving with me; I just had to get that little packet out of the way.

Hi Erin,

I hope you enjoy your walk. I am sure you will be the envy of all in your stylish gear.princess: Just don't get blown away by the wind.

Menopause sucks. Mine was drug induced and temporary, but I hated it. Good for you for being proactive. I am sure you will be feeling better soon. Have you tried any of the herbal concoctions? My friends swear by them.

Enjoy your day.
Beth

Hi Erin,

You are doing a great job with your goals! You should be very proud of yourself!::yes::

I was thinking of you yesterday~ We received a coupon in the mail for Cheesecake Factory: Buy One Get One Free! Woohoo!:Pinkbounc DH and I have never been to the cheesecake factory because the prices are a bit high, but 2 for the price of 1??? I think we can swing dessert at least.:teeth: By the way... I think the coupon said that once we present it to the server, the cheescake is not only free, but fat free as well.;)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tracy:wave2:

HEY, WHERE CAN I GET THAT COUPON? Tracy, you're an angel. . .thanks for starting my day off with a .

OK, I've got to get myself down to business because I've got to get to work. It's going to be a full day--lessons in the a.m., haircuts with DD at 1:00, shoe shopping for DD after that, and a craft show to stop in at to boot! Even though my laundry (washed and clean as it may be) is lying in a big pile in the living room, I'm looking forward to kids' smiles in the morning and DD Time in the afternoon.

Stats as of yesterday:

1. Devotions--5/30 :Pinkbounc
2. Vitamins--5/30 :Pinkbounc
3. Water--5/30 :Pinkbounc
4. Exercise--5/30 :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm so happy about this!
5. Food--4/30  For some reason, making Monkey Bread at 9:30 p.m. seemed like a fun family activity. Today, though, I'm back on the sugar free wagon until Thanksgiving. ::yes::

Found this quote in my "Thin Tastes Better Book": "For those given to extremes, abstinence is easir than moderation." I know that I've written that before here in my WISH journal, but it's certainly true. My life is just simpler without the goodies, and because I give it up voluntarily, I don't feel deprived. I just know it's better for me.

Got to run,
E.
