Lulu201's Back In Action Journal

Hi Erin,

I think you did great with not binging. You ate 2 cookies. It was not a binge. It was the best option available. No guilt involved.

I understand the whole Godly submission thing, but I still have a problem with it. I think it is probably the word submission that gives me hives. We all have our issues. You are exploring yours. I think it is healthy to look at things and work towards these goals, but they also have to work within your relationship and the real world. Of course, I'm not reading the book, so I should keep my mouth shut.

I hope you manage to get some good rest tonight.
Beth

I feel like I am hi-jacking Erin's thread, so let me say I am sorry!

Michelle - thanks for the explanation. That does put things in a different light. Since my thoughts still tend to run like Beth's, I will take her cue and close my mouth. ;)

Have a GREAT MONDAY, Erin!!

Keep away from the cookies! You are almost at the end of the No Sugar Challenge!

:sunny: It's a sunny day, dear Erin! :sunny:

Enjoy your time of rest and rejuvenation today!

:flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2:

Hi Erin,

Stopping by to say hi:wave2: and to WISH you a wonderful week ahead! Take care!

Tracy:wave2:

Ooh, I love a good book discussion!:p Thanks, everyone, for weighing in with their opinions. I'd definitely have to say that Michelle has a great description of the thoughts the author is trying to convey. My only "beef" with the topic was that I felt the author--most likely because she only had a chapter to address this issue--simplified what it's like to actually LIVE this concept on a day to day basis.

As I continue to read, I find lots of good suggestions for keeping one's life and one's home Christ-centered. Like Doreen and Tracy, I plan to re-read the book when I'm done. I think I'll take a highlighter and go over the ideas that particularly challenge or inspire me and begin to make some changes in my own family life.

Today is 11/23/04 and my stats have gone crazy. When was the last time I updated?

1. Devotions as of November 22:22/30:D
2. Vitamins: 16/30 Haven't taken them in days
3. Water: 20/30 Been a bit better on this one :D
4. Exercise: 12/30 The only exercise I've had is mall walking!
5. Food: 12/30 I must throw out the cookies and recital leftovers. Sorry WISH princess: princess: princess: . I'll be good today.
6. Scale: What scale?? 9/30 Tomorrow for sure!

I've kind of fallen apart this past week. I'm going to try to regroup, though.

Now I have to get ready for work. I'll stop around later in the day, I think.

Erin

Hi Erin,

With the holiday on it's way, it is so easy to be derailed. You are doing your best, and that is all we, you, or God can ask. Remember, Doe's baby steps really do work.

I love your journal. you have the most profound/ deep thinking journal. It always gives me something to contemplate. You definately keep us on our toes, WISH princess:

Have a GREAT day,
princess: Beth

Good morning, princess: Erin! :wave2:

I have found so many challenges in this book that I'm happy and overwhelmed, all at the same time! :p Lately I just can't seem to put it down! I'll definitely be re-reading it at a slower pace when I'm finished. I love your idea of highlighting the areas that feel most challenging!

Enjoy your day, Erin! I'm thinking of setting a goal to pray before I put any food in my mouth, in the hopes that God will guide my choices. Maybe that would work for you too, to help keep you on track?

Erin, you are doing great, you've gotten your devotions in every single day this month, you got all your water in on all but 2 days and the other numbers aren't so shabby either! Keep going and I'm sure that next month is going to be even better!

I love Doe's idea about asking God to help you with your food choices. Every morning when I finish working out I pray that God would help me make wise decisions in my eating so that I don't undo the benefits of the exercise I just did. :)

Hey!! That counts! Especially if you are walking faster than the other person racing you towards the deal. ;) :p

I think you are doing great!! This is such a stress filled time of year. We each need to give ourselves a pat on the back for taking the time to think of ourself and our health.

Hope Tuesday was a GREAT day!! :wave2:

Best wishes for a safe and fun trip back to Mom's house!

Since the DISboards will be down this weekend, I'll "see" you on Monday. :wave2:

Hi Erin,

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving! Have a safe journey. I hope you have a weekend filled with family, friends, love and peace.
Beth

:grouphug: You are all just plain awesome! Thank you, Beth, Doreen, Terry, Michelle, Tracy, and Amanda! I'm so thankful for all of you and for all the love and support you give to me. Please know that over the next few days you'll all be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you all have Thanksgivings blessed with peace and love.

I know that I'm not going to make it around to everyone's journals--I have to leave for work in 15 minutes! I ran out this morning and had my mammogram (earlier than my scheduled appointment on 11/29, Doreen ;) ), and I took my Book Club book with me. I continue to get so much out of this book; it's made me hungry to deepen my faith and so much more! I'd say I'm 80% packed to leave this afternoon.

The stats up to yesterday, 11/23:

1. Devotions: 23/30
2. Vitamins: 17/30
3. Water: 21/30
4. Exercise: 12/30
5. Food: 13/30
6. Scale: 9/30

That gives me :D :D :D :D for yesterday. My portions were too large, but I didn't binge and I didn't have a single gosh darn cookie. That's a good thing! While I'm away, my splurges will be dessert on Thanksgiving and a peppermint mocha coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

I've got to get pack up a few more things before I head out the door--

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'll see you when I get back!:wave2:

Good morning Erin:sunny:

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Have a safe trip and enjoy that book!:teeth:

Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Black Friday!
You always sound so optimistic and upbeat in your journals it just puts a huge :teeth: on my face! I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. and enjoy that coffee! YUMMY!

Well, this is just amazing! I go away for a few days and I come home to a whole different neighborhood! I didn't know we were getting such a major facelift! :upsidedow I think it'll take me a little time to get used to this.

I'm back and "in action" like the title of my journal says. I ate so much JUNK over the last few days! I feel like a Macy's Parade balloon--all bloated and about to float around! I'm ready to do something about it, believe me.

It's raining cats and dogs out there and I've got to get myself over to church. Anybody have a boat I can borrow? :boat:

We got home yesterday afternoon around 3. By 3:30, DD and I were off to hit the mall, by evening we were home and had all the Christmas decorations out of the garage, in the house, and strewn all over the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The tree is up and ready to decorate today--it'll all be done by the time I go to bed. That's just how it's going to be! I wanted to have all the outside stuff done, but it's raining so hard, I just don't see it happening.

My plan for today:

1. Devotions--I finished "our" book while I was away
2. Vitamins--haven't had any since Wednesday
3. Water--not enough for days
4. Exercise--walked the dog A LOT while we were away, but need some serious treadie time
5. Food--I can't even talk about it!
6. Scale--My next day to get on it is Wednesday; I'm giving myself a few days to get back into the groove. I'm going to count points beginning today:
breakfast: English muffin (2) with peanut butter (4) and coffee (1)=6

I'll be back and will visit around today, but for now I have to get myself together and fire up the boat so I can swim over to church!

Erin

Good Sunday Morning :D I'll be right over with our boat & umbrella :umbrella: I really wanted to walk today Outside! but not in this.

Looks like your meal plan is as good as mine :guilty: I have vowed to get back to plan this week and walk at least 20 miles. What's your goal for this week?

How's business? christmas tree up & decorated by tonight - wow I'm impressed! Have a great day :earseek:

Good morning, everyone! It's Monday, November 29!

Well, yesterday I did a little bit better with my goals:

1. Devotions :D
2. Vitamins
3. Water :D
4. Exercise
5. Food :D Didn't count points, but didn't binge
6. Scale

I've lost track of my days, but I'll try to update that tomorrow.

The house is all decorated for Christmas--even the outside lights got up! :Pinkbounc I'm really enjoying it. I worked all day yesterday after church and even had to make TWO trips to K-Mart, but the sense of completion I've got makes it worth it.

I'm trying to outline my plan for today like our book describes, so I'm not going to take too much time here. I want to get some exercise in and will make healthy eating choices. Yesterday I picked up lots of fruit and veggies; I'm looking forward to eating lighter than I did last week!

Off into the day--
Erin

PS MeMe, it looks like today will be MUCH better than yesterday morning was for a good walk. Enjoy! I noticed you only have 38 days until the half! :Pinkbounc You go, girl! Amanda and Doreen, too!
