Luggage under bed?

I just bought a 5 piece nesting luggage set at Target. The largest piece is 30 inches. Do you think it will fit under the bed? Also- do you know of any restrictions with the airlines as far as size (I know they have weight restrictions)? Thanks! :)

We have a similar set of Samsonite soft-sided luggage, with the largest piece being 36 inches and it fit under the bed with no problem. I'm sure the airlines have a size policy, but the 30 inch suitcase is ok........ we've flown with our 36 inch one several times. Just don't over pack it or you might go over the weight limit.

I don't know if the 30 will fit under the bed but if you are wondering about your airline go to their website and take a look..they will have it listed.

Delta says that the limit for checked baggage is

Items cannot exceed 62" or 157.5cm (length + height + width) limits.

Items over 80" or 203cm (length + height + width) will not be accepted.

And the weight restriction is

Items should not weigh more than 50 lbs. (approx. 22.5kg).

Items weighing between 51 and 100 lbs. (approx. 23 and 45kgs) will be charged an excess baggage fee.

Items over 100 lbs. (approx. 45kgs) will not be accepted.

United, Southwest, AA, Co, Song, are all the same as Delta.

Check your airline's website. I did for ours and they listed the weight and measurement guidelines for luggage as well as carry-ons.

I have the same nesting style luggage you do. One suggestion I found on the Disboards, is to pack one suitcase, place it in the next size up and then you will have a suitcase for all your purchases.

Have a great cruise.

The luggage will fit under the bed. We put a suitcase larger than that along with other stuff.

I did not realize until recently that some of the beds are on platforms, and not a frame, making it impossible to store luggage underneath. We had no problem with ours, but this is something to keep in mind.

:( I would have loved storage under the bed!

We were in stateroom 8014 on the Wonder & we had a platform....so, I'd love to know which rooms have that little extra storage. We put our luggage behind the chair near the verandah.

We've had no problems putting our luggage under the beds during our cruises. May just have to lift the bed a bit, but it all fit under there for us.

We are on deck two aft room 2650. Any idea if our luggage will fit under the bed. We aren't planning on spending alot of time in the room, but it would be nice to have more room when we are there!

Thanks:wave:

Our two biggest suitcases did not fit under the bed--about 2 inches too high. So, we placed them upright along the wall closest to the nightstands and it worked fine. We pulled the bench out and put it by the mirror in our room for extra seating and put our duffel bag underneath the vanity and put dirty clothes in it. Worked great.

We did try lifting the bed up and it still didn't work. Others that we met had no problem, so guess it depends on the room and your suitcases.

I had one case that did not fit under the bed, so stuck it in the closet. Another trick is to put the life jackets under the bed so you have the closet shelf for other things.

Only our carryon bags fit under our category 8 bed. We nested the larger ones together and put them in the closet, took the life vests off the shelf and stashed them under the bed.

Jet Blue the limit is 70 pounds.....I weighed mine at home and it was just under the weight....they do slap a "heavy" sticker on it but as long as its under 70 there is no problem on Jet Blue.

Just checked Southwest's website and their weight limit is still 70 lbs. also.
