Luggage check at Terminal

I think I read somewhere here that some of the airlines are now collecting the luggage at the terminal for the flights home. Does anyone know if Delta is doing this? I think we may take a trip to WDW after disembarkation (our flight is not until 5:05PM) if we get off quick enough. What would be the earliest we could get to the MK? We are getting a rental car from Avis and doing driving ourselves. With Delta taking luggage at the port it would be a load off my mind (one less thing to do at the airport - more time with the Mouse ).

Earlier today someone reported that Delta IS NOT ONE OF THE AIRLINES doing check in at the port yet. Someone posted about it starting in April.
