Louisiana DVCers!!!

Ha Ha!!!

I'm from Chauvin and I live in Thibodaux!!!!!!!!!!!

Camping Cat, what DVC do you call home???

You're not going to believe this, but my Dad's family were Thibodeaux's from Thibodaux! And my hubby's family, are Chauvin's from Raceland & take a wild guess, yep Chauvin's from Chauvin!!! :lmao:

Not camping this trip, unfortunately. Our tow vehicle is getting older and after two visits to the Car Care Center last december, we've decided to stay in DVC resorts for the next few trips until we get a new tow vehicle instead of using our points at the Fort. We'll be at OKW this December.

Sorry about the vehicle. But I sure have been hearing a lot of good things about OKW, lately! Is that your DVC home?

Sort of sad that I changed our last trip from OKW to SSR. Don't get me wrong SSR was really very nice, but just a bit spread out for us.

Although we own at SSR, we're staying at OKW because it has a much bigger kitchen/dining/living area than the other one bedrooms. My friend Charlotte (a fellow DVCer from Waveland) and I put on a dinner for our RADP friends every December. We pack more than 30 people in there and OKW is the only resort that will hold that many comfortably. :) And that huge balcony is a lifesaver!

How odd!!!! My DH is a Trahan from Chauvin. Such a small world on the Dis.

Well Drake, that might be the way the town is spelled but who's to say that "right"! ;) In my book, Thibodeaux is the "right" way!!! :lmao: And my married name/screenname, well that's to make it easier for those non-cajuns, just the phonetic spelling of another proper french name Chauvin!!

If you only knew how many times where I had to spell my name for some document only to be asked "Are you sure there is no "e" in your last name"? :rotfl2:

My response is "I am an original Thibodaux, not one of those wannabe's :rotfl2: :lmao:

In the end, you know all of us coon a$$ folk are. We are all related. (We else was there to do in a swamp?) :rotfl:

Gosh, when you're talking Chauvin, that's really small! ;)

Hi from New Orleans, Bought resale at BWV in October. Our first trip is September and can't wait.

We are! We are! We'll spend the night in New Orleans next Friday and fly out first thing on Saturday. Should be in Epcot by 11 or so!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I know Coach81 is going, good friend of mine.

:sad1: We had to cancel our MG trip because we used points to go for Gustav--UGH!!!

We are not but two families I know are going. One friend hasn't been since she was four years old ! We had lunch last week to fill her in on what's new since then :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: I was also able to share the info about the military discount. Her retired military dad is going with them. Saved them lots of dollars!! We already have a lunch planned so she can give me a trip report.

We are cruising in April and going in November for Thanksgiving (if I get some
pixiedust: pixiedust: at 7 months and can snag a 1 bedroom at any resort!).

I hope everyone going at Mardi Gras has a great time!!

I live in Houma and just bought into DVC (BWV) in Nov '08 after visiting WDW for 28 years as non-members. We went to WDW on our honeymoon in Nov 1980, and we have our first trip as members scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate our anniversary.

We've always enjoyed going to WDW at Mardi Gras time, because we normally saw a lot of our fellow Louisiana neighbors there.

WE ARE! WE ARE! I told my DS6 he gets to pack this weekend. The kids are beyond excited right now.
