Lots of service dogs this trip

Your post said "y'all" so it made it sound like you thought everyone here felt that way.

no there's been lots of people talking about it normally ("y'alls") but there have been a few ("y'all") who are not. Y'all understand? :goodvibes

Texas. It's a whole different world!

I grew up in Texas and have never heard it that way. Y'all could be 1 or many based on context clues which weren't 100% clear earlier. Y'alls I only heard a handful of times my entire life.

Also, to clarify:
Y'all= "you"
Y'alls = "some of you"
All y'alls = "everybody"

I'm going to guess most people are familar with this usage of the word.

I've even used the word Y'all before...and never in a way to mean just one person. Your original comment used "Y'all" which in your terms means "you"

You're the one continued the talk giving explanations of variations into Y'all and where the dialect you were speaking in is voiced at...I'd call that semantics :rolleyes1

You are correct and I apologize! Let me reword my original post so as not to offend every person on this thread..

This thread is making me equally angry and sad. Some posters on this thread are using "quotes" around "service" animals and all of this underhanded 'well why do they need 2 animals?'. So sad. Just pray to God that you don't NEED a service animal OR a wheelchair OR an ECV or anything else that helps you live a normal life and feel like a normal person in the Happiest Place on Earth and not have Judgey McJudgertons whisper behind your back and then go on message board to complain about your disability.

Are y'all (meaning just you of course) good with this?

Now let's get back on track and talk some more about these fakers and their fake service dogs.

Methinks you're too invested in snark today.

I don't believe I said I had a problem with what you said or even commented about what you said, I only attempted to provide clarification in the "y'all" aspect to which you decided after that for some reason you wanted to get the thread back on track that you yourself decided to derail but in a way as to call out other posters. There's no need to go all virtual z-snap on me.

That it is. But I'm born and raised here - all 40 of my years - and no one I know uses "y'alls" unless it's the possessive y'all's". "Y'all" refers to a group of two or more.

I've re-posted my original post and changed "y'all" to "some posters on this thread". Hope that clarifies things. But the more we talk about the proper local usages of the term "y'all" the less some posters on this thread are talking about alleged 'fake" service dogs, so it's all good!

i don't know what a virtual z-snap is? But it doesn't sound very good? Methinks you threw the first snark, with the whistling fella post up there, and your over-sized webster's dictionary "you all" definitions but I'm a gentleman and willing to apologize if you feel I offended you or if I came across like a jerk. So sorry! :flower1:

But, that all being said, my original post was referring to the OP and the posters who agreed with their train of thought which to me is disgusting. If we still wanna talk about "y'all" we can, but my intention was NOT to start a language hijack, it was to attempt to calmly type words in a response, without using swears, when referring to these posts.

A PP was confused because I used "y'all" to refer to the few who agreed with the OP so I jokingly explained it. And we both had a good laugh over it. That's about it.

"Service dogs" are the biggest scam. We all need "support" in bad, stressful times. I heard a person is going through a trying period, Dr. recommends they get a pet... So said dog is now "theraphy".. Sure in some cases there are legit, medical reasons, even mental medical reasons.. but come one.. We all can say having a pet, does one good.. Studies show having a pet reduces stress anxiety et... So now can we all use this benefit to get a pet to fly for free, bring a pet on vacation to avoid boardinig costs or get a rental where no dogs are allowed? How many times have I heard of people ( they admit it, ) " My dog calms and supports me!!! My dog must go and sit on my lap at a restaurant ( as emotional support) As fluffy is too precious to be left at home alone. ." Ok, lets buy that cert online.

Sorry. But it's non Disney related but I have good friends in the restaurant and realtor industries. This is becoming a real issue, the abuse. Want a rental that won't allow pets,? Go buy a cert online. I work for an airline.. all of a sudden we have more pets on board.. Have you ever sat next to a person with a dog on their lap for a long flight?

A shame as many do need them. Neighbor is diabetic and has a "trained" dog. I dont normally "judge" but in this case I myself have seen tooo many abuses where I reserve the right to judge.. Also There are serious medical mental issues and then those who need to get a grip on life.. I am speaking of "emotional" dogs here.... I am "Emotional" dependent on my husband to support me.... Can he get a free ride as he is escorting me.??

We've been coming to WDW every year for over 10 years and this trip we've seen a lot of service dogs for people who appear to be just fine.

Now, I know there are invisible illnesses but I've seen at least 10 dogs in a week with people in the parks. The only person that could have used a dog was a blind man and even he didn't have one. Just seems like everything else in society lately - overkill.

Good. Dogs are great, and dogs don't sweat, so I guarantee they smell better than most people at Disney World.

A co-worker told me the reason she got her dog deemed a "therapy" dog was really because the airlines fault. She said it is more expensive to bring your small dog on the flight than paying for a full round trip plane tickets. She thinks that's why there are so many therapy dogs because I believe they fly free.
