LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Holy crap! Like that's all I can think! lol

That was an amazing episode!! And when Jacob talked!!! Super creepy!!!

So, Richard is a hostile. And he hasn't really aged. hmmm.

THAT was really interesting. I was thinking he has to be Jacob since he didn't age, but then the whole shack scene happened. Can't wait to see that scene in slow-mo!

Wow, I don't even know where to begin.

I'm glad Ben finally said he wasn't really born on the island, because the whole road thing was driving me crazy.
Do you think that there really was someone there or do you think Ben is nuts and he really thinks someone is there? The voice didn't sound like Ben, but we didn't see Ben when it was said, so it's possible it was him. The only thing though is how did all of that stuff happen when Locke shined the light on Ben, it did seem supernatural, not something Ben could do if he were an ordinary man. I just hope Locke can survive. I think he'll have to do that quick healing because the Losties are preparing to overthrow the Others, they are not going to be out looking for him.

Was Ann one of the people they killed? Ben seemed to really like her and I don't remember her being shown as one of the dead people.

Also, what do you make of Ben's mom saying it isn't time or your time yet?

I was looking for her too.

I think that "Jacob" might be like the smoke monster. It's like a big psychic thing. He reaches out to people on the island by appearing as things (like the horse with Kate and all the other weird stuff) because he needs help. I wonder if he's a Dharma experiment gone bad? Or it's just someone messing with us. lol

I LOVED that they showed the history of killing off the Dharma people. I bet a lot of information was lost then.

Noooooooo....Not Locke. I hope his super healing powers kick in overdrive. Other than Ben, he is the most intriguing character on that island.

dont forget Hurley....the real star of this show...

Okay, does anyone remember Ben's mother's name? I did a google search for Jacob, to see if I could find any clues through that name, and of course came across the Jacob from the Bible. One of his twelve sons who form the 12 tribes of Israel is named Benjamin, whose mother Rachel dies at childbirth and names him with her dying breath.

Ok, WOW!. They better not have killed Locke. I'm totally working on the assumption that he is not dead. I just don't believe it.

I couldn't figure out if he was just supposed to look youger (long hair) and they did a bad job or that he actually hasn't aged. He doesn't look older than Ben (in current time).

I'm totally going to have nightmares about that tonight. :scared:

I was wondering about Ann too.

I wonder if the hostiles were all waiting for Ben. That could explain "it isn't time yet" and also explain why it seemed Richard was later answering to Ben.

Also, I couldn't figure out if Richard was supposed to age or not. I think they meant to make him look younger but just did a bad job of it--like they did a bad job of making Ben look younger.

A couple other things I noticed: nobody helped when Ben called for the others to help Mikail when Locke was beating on him, so maybe they are all turning on Ben. I also think that Alex has no idea that Ben isn't really her father.

Wow, nice. i don't think that was her name though...

I think her name was Emily.

Thank goodness for TIVO - if you have it go back and look at the scene in the cabin with Jacob in slo mo - there is someone there. An older looking man with long hair. Definitely not Richard.

Ben is very upset that Jacob spoke to Locke and was not talking to him. Get the impression that Ben is almost holding Jacob hostage.

Nice theory, but sorry. His mother's name was Emily.

See this is why I tell DH not to delete the episode when we're done. He thinks I'm crazy. We totally missed that, but will check back tomorrow. When was it? While everything was moving in the room? Or before when Ben was talking to the chair.

This is why I need a DVR!! lol

I thought I saw someone else in the room. Anything else cool when you slowed it down?

Good catch about holding Jacob hostage. I noticed the keys and thought that Ben locked the door to keep people out--but maybe he's keeping Jacob in.

Yeah after Locke shines the flashlight and everything goes nuts, watch carefully. You see a lot of Locke and Ben and then you see someone else in there.

As for Locke, I'm hoping he's rescued by Danielle (who by the way I think got the dynomite for Jack if next week's previews mean anything ;))
