LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

Ok, I just looked at the photo with the girl and Jack. I didn't even see that when watching the show. Did anyone notice her while watching? Unfortunately I erased my DVR and I can't re-watch it.
I just went back to check and she's not there. Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot. But in the picture, Jack is shown lying down in that room, with his eyes closed. The pictures seem to be shown in order and this one is towards the end (33 out of 45). So it has to be from just after they were in the water and she knocked him out. In the show, there's no girl in the room with him so I'm not sure what's up with this picture.

ETA: ok they're not shown in order, but still the only time they show Jack lying down in that room is after the water scene.

Why do some people think Jack was being a jerk last night? He wakes up locked in an aquaraium with no clue what is going on...I think I'd be pretty pi$$ed too! Maybe I missed something...?

Why exactly was his father calling Sarah? What was going on if he wasn't sleeping with her??

Okay, I can't get anywhere near the Fuselage site before it times out so it seems to be where everyone is talking about Lost. I have read through a lot of the other sites out there and the most interesting thing I have found is on the official ABC Lost site if you go to the pictures section for season three you will find a picture of Jack in the Hydra station. He is lying on his back and I think its after Julliete knocked him out. In the picture there is a nine or ten year old girl sitting in the room with him. My question is, is it the girl he rescued in the park? Or is it one of the children from the tail section. When Sayids girlfriend (can't remember her name, the blond that got shot) saw visions of Walt, he was wet. Could it be that he was also at the Hydra station and communicating telepathicly with her. So is Hydra the station where they experiment with telepathy? So many questions, so few answers, I both love and despise this show for what it puts me through.

I went back through the episode with my DVR and could not find that girl anywhere during any of Jack's sceens, so I haven't got a clue what that is all about. To me, it looks like the sceen is from the very beginning when he is first waking up, not after the water sceen. Jack is laying down on the table only twice in the show, at the beginning and after the water sceen. The rest of the time he is sitting or standing.

But in the process of re-checking the show, I saw something else I am curious about. During the book club sceen there is an Asian guy that looks a lot like the Asian police officer that releases Jack at the end of the show. Is this the same guy? Can anyone confirm yes or no?

I'm pretty sure no. Just two different Asian guys.

Can anyone give a partial list of all the things they knew about Jack? Were they all things that Kate could have known from talking to him? My memory isn't what it used to be.

You know, at first I thought, this is all stuff they could have found out by listening. But they knew his wife's name and about the divorce. I'm pretty sure Jack hasn't talked to anyone on the island about his wife. I know we've seen her, but does anyone remember him talking about it?

I think the most Jack has mentioned on the island is that he was married, but he never mentioned her name or what happened.

New theory alert: He got a shot in the arm, could be they used Sodium Pentothol. :thumbsup2

It was the way Juliet was talking to him that makes it seem like something was not quite right. Also a lot of other things about the Island and the hatches makes it seem like a land that someone forgot.

That's a great theory! That would make total sense if we are to believe they don't have access to the outside world. The only thing that bugs me, is that someone is dropping food to them, but who :confused3

Hopefully since we saw the "outside" world at the end of last season we will know more about that.

I think they do have contact with the outside world. Remember when the plane was crashing, Ben told Goodwin and Ethan to get him a list of names? That would have given them plenty of time to get background information from their sources outside and to develop the "list" of people they wanted Michael to bring back for one reason or another. Their contact with the outside world might be very limited though and whoever has them there on the island is not letting them have access to a lot of more modern things like recent music, books, etc.

A ramdom question here- how many seasons do you think LOST will last, or how long would you like to see it last? I have yet to form an opinion on my own question, I have to think about it first :p

I think the producers are looking at 5 years. That seems kind of sad, but I don't think my brain can handle much more than that anyway. :teeth:

They must have contact with the outisde world -- how else would Desmond have the fancy and modern looking washing machine/dryer?

This is kinda weird. I remember as a teenager(oh so long ago!) reading a book about these kids who were brought into this closed environment and had to perform various tricks in order to get food and water- like Sawyer in the cage. It was some kind of experiment and it's been so long ago that I can't really remember a lot, including the title, but this just struck me as really odd. Anyone else have a clue as to what I'm talking about?? :confused3

Hmmm, do I like the sound of that? Yeah, I think I do. I agree, after that it may just drag on and get to be too much, but then what will we do when it's over??? I at least like the fact that they are thinking of the end and won't just be milking it as long as they can.

I would think that they would want at least 5 years so that it can go into syndication.

Traditionally, they've only needed four years for syndication (and these days I think they can syndicate with fewer episodes than that). A five year run (specifically) would be for creative purposes before anything else.
