LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

My friends told me there was a scene in the Movie Raiders of the Lost Arch that was just like the scene with Kate & Henry (or Ben) when he made her put on the dress. I'm trying to remember but my brain is shot. Does anyone remmeber this?

I do. After the Nazis captured her in Cairo, Marion was taken to the dig site as Belloq's (Indy's archaeology rival) prisoner, and he had her put on a formal evening gown before they had dinner.

T And we don't know what has happened to Michael and Walt, they could have been given directions to something that would destroy them.

Have you seen the official LOST video podcast?
Two of the ?writers talk about the show and this is one thing they said with certainty....that Walt is fine. He'll come back into the story line in awhile.

That's interesting. I heard that Michael was not coming back for a long time, if ever. I wonder if they'll say their boat capsized and only Walt survived.

New theory alert: He got a shot in the arm, could be they used Sodium Pentothol. :thumbsup2

OR....(dh's guess--and he's a doc)....maybe it was something to cause "conscious sedation." That's what they'll do in the ER to reset your broken bones, or during things like scopes of your stomach. It makes you loopy and relaxed, but it does not "put you to sleep." You are still conscious, but sedated.....hence the name. :lmao:

I've had it. It's a weird feeling. And you say just about anythign without thinking. Maybe that's how they got the info about Jack. Gave him conscious sedation and then asked him questions.

???????????????

(like I said, this is dh's theory.....so if it's wrong.....:lmao: )

Update

They took down the picture of the little girl in Jack's room on ABC.com

http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?album=1164&pos=45

Also look at picture 49 for a close-up

I have one of two thoeries:

1. It was the little girl from the tail section of the plane

2. they cut out a scence were Jack saves a little girl from chocking in one of his flashbacks, and it is just the image of that girl

Yes, and I thought the same thing.

Can anyone give a partial list of all the things they knew about Jack? Were they all things that Kate could have known from talking to him? My memory isn't what it used to be.

They knew what kind of Dr. he was (spinal surgeon) where he went to school, (Columbia), where he worked, (Cedar Siania ? LA), that he had been married, that his father was dead (even though he told Juliette that, she said she had the autopsy) and that he had graduated a year early from medical school. The list of things they knew seemed to exceed things they could have heard on the island from listening to conversations so I do think they have contact with the outside world to aquire the information.

One other very far fetched idea I had was that based on the Petula Clark song Juliette was listening to and Carrie being the book they read in their book club that maybe somehow these younger looking people are actually some of the researchers from the original Dharma project that take the syrum to retain their youth. The song (from the late 60's) and the book (from 1974) actually date them to that period. Because of the anti aging effect of the drug, and the need to continue taking it and the fact the were not aging they could not interact with the outside world. Kinda of the good news bad news scenario like the one from Indiana Jones three with the Holy Grail. The good news is you can live forever, the bad news is you can never leave this place.

It probably doesn't mean anything (but on Lost who knows) but Petula Clark's Downtown song is what Desmond was listening to the first time we saw him in the hatch.

No Desmond was listening to "Make Your Own Kind of Music" by Cass Elliott. Same time frame but not the same song.

I think the music and books available are simply from the time the project started. Folks brought what they liked and there have been no updates.

Thats right, it wasn't Petula Clark but was dated from the same period. Interesting though that Desmonds song was on vinly but Juliettes was on CD.

St. Sebastian.

It was Petula Clark but a different song, not Downtown.
Are you talking about this season or last? This season was Downtown, last season's what LoriTammy said.

Why exactly was his father calling Sarah? What was going on if he wasn't sleeping with her??

Because they were both worried about Jack and how he was acting like a nutcase.

This is kinda weird. I remember as a teenager(oh so long ago!) reading a book about these kids who were brought into this closed environment and had to perform various tricks in order to get food and water- like Sawyer in the cage. It was some kind of experiment and it's been so long ago that I can't really remember a lot, including the title, but this just struck me as really odd. Anyone else have a clue as to what I'm talking about?? :confused3

I believe you are thinking of "House of Stairs" by William Sleator.

I dunno. He just became too animated and cheerful during that conversation. I'd think if it was concern for his nutty son, he'd be very serious, no matter whom he was talking to. But he was grinning like a school boy in love. Then before hanging up he looked at his cell and had a little spring in his step.

:confused3

Maybe Jack's dad was the initial reason Sarah left Jack, but THEN moved on to Mr. Brown Haired Guy by the car. :confused3

GoodFairies, what are the numbers in your siggy? Are those your hatch numbers? :lmao:

THat's MY theory too. Exactly what I said when I saw the bandaids on their arms. The 'thick file' was just a ploy to make Jack think the others 'knew' all about him......
