LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

Ack Attack: Funniest thing I 've ever read!!!:rotfl:If it wouldn't take forever, I'd go back and read them all!! HIGH-larious!!!:rotfl2:

Darn, he is still alive, was hoping the pill would take him out.:lmao:

Any thoughts from anyone? I'm back to clueless. :lmao:

I was thinking that Jack's boy was Jack as a child, but I really don't think so. I just have a hard time wrapping my brain around how you could bring a child into the equation, then expect the character would choose a life that doesn't bring the child into the life of the character once all is said and done. I don't want the timeline to wind up as having never happened at the end of the day. However, that's wishing a child was never conceived, and that's hard to wish too. :(

I think we're getting nothing more than more questions and absolutely no satisfying results whatsoever!!!!

Okay, so I have a theory. It's not a spoiler but I'm still going to post it in white. Highlight to read.

I think that Hurley's and Locke's alternate reality is so different because, with the island blowing up in the 70's, Jacob never touched them. Hurley is lucky now, Locke is happy, etc. and it's all because they haven't been chosen as candidates in that reality. Rose still has cancer because Jacob never touched her. It was going to be that way not matter what. The "candidates", however, are leading very different lives in this reality and I believe it is because they were never "chosen". As Flocke said (if he was telling the truth), Jacob has been pulling the strings of the "candidates" free will all along.

Just a theory. Thoughts?

I don't think there is any question that Jacob's has changed the lives of everyone on that island (even those he didn't touch to a lesser extent). I just really want to know how Locke got in that dang wheelchair!!!

I think there was a lot of "meat" to this episode. Lots to think over and look at more closely. Could anyone tell what 108 degrees said?? It looked like "Wall," but my DVR info was covering some of the letters so I am not sure exactly what it said. Jacob just wanted Jack to see the contraption up there and realize a little more of what had brought him to the island..and to get him and Hurley away from the temple....so now the only one left inside the temple is Sayid who has the "sickness" like Claire ( and Danielle...and all her shipmates).

My favorite part of the episode was when Hurley and Jack came upon the caves and Hurley made the comment about how maybe the corpses are themselves.....in the future...because they never made it off the island!! Loved it!

So, did anyone see who #108? Is it Kate? She was touched by Jacob but is she not worthy enough to be a candidate?
Now we know why Claire was crossed off the list. She is aligned with Smokey.
Miles is also in the temple.

Forgot to add my tidbit...in Locke's box of stuff he's carting around after being fired...there is a picture of him hunting with his dad...
Yes -- so, consider this: If Locke's dad in the Sideways timeline isn't the worst dad ever, as he was in the original timeline, and didn't push Locke out an eight-story window, then what does that mean for Sawyer? Remember that Locke's dad, in the original timeline, was the "real" Sawyer, who conned and seduced James Ford's mom -- setting into motion events wherein Sawyer's (Ford) dad killed his mom and then turned the gun on himself. But what if that never happened because Sideways Anthony Cooper is a better man?

I'm really interested in finding out more about Sideways Sawyer.

I found these on the web. Anyone think they mean something?

According to Lostpedia it seems that Austen is #51 and is not scratched out.

This is a cute bit of trivia taken from this same link:
"Lighthouse" is the 5th episode of Season 6 of Lost and the 108th produced hour of the series as a whole. It was first broadcast on February 23, 2010.

This is an awesome list as candidates and those that are crossed out. 108 = some Wallace that we don't know. That's a let down, but the list is awesome.

Before I get started, for those of you who don't read longer posts, don't miss my OMG minute down in the thread. I will make it bold so you don't miss it. I thank God I don't have to get up early tomorrow. :lmao:

I just watched, The Substitute, again on ABC and it came with commentary from Jon Lachonis.

I kept notes as I watched, and here is what I believed to be his highlights. Keep in mind, when he is speaking of Locke, his commentary is only based on Locke telling the truth (he acknowledges that he comes with credibility problems). I'm going to keep an eye out for his commentary in the future. I think he had some great insight.

Helen talking to wedding planner at the beginning of the episode. Could it have been Boone?

Every flash sideways has a mirror shot (the use of a mirror) and those moments all mark a decision or realization for that character.

The black stone slightly outweighed the light one one the scale. Is that the balance between good and evil at that point in time?

Sawyer standing on the side of dark, while Flocke is on the side of light, scene looks divided (I added this myself, there was no commentary about it. Here is a photo of it, but it's small, so I hope you can see it clearly enough).

Ladder in the back of the cave they entered (I kept rewinding and could not see the ladder myself).

Wow, this one really shocked me. He touched Jin and Sun together. Could that mean that it's both of them, or would it mean that it's Yi Jeon Kwon (their unborn son)?

When Flocke is telling us that Jacob manipulated the "candidates," he is saying that Jacob will do anything in his power to get what he wants and that Flocke is a prisoner rather than a adversary of Jacob's.

This would mean that everything on the island was never meant to be.

We see 3 Locke's. Sideways Locke, Flocke Locke, and dead lock. Does it equal the 3 trinities?

Biblically, the 3 trinities are God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. In numerology, it means past, present, and future.

Could #108 be Walt? I guess not, since it seems to show last names. Do we know his last name?

No, Hurley was saying what if they time-jumped to the past and died there, what if the corpses were them? LOL Still funny though and kind of freaky at the same time.

OK, I am so sick of cry-baby Jack. Really! What makes him so special? I am sick of him treating Hurley like some second class citizen when it comes to figuring out what to do to get out of a situation. What, he's the only one with idea's, and he won't go along with anyone else? Hurley has proved himself time and time again, yet Jack is still going to sit there and rudely tell Hurley he's not going anywhere.

Oh, and don't get me started on sideways Jack with the kid. He is raising his kid to be a cry-baby too, but who wouldn't be if you grew up watching your dad cry over a falling leaf every fall?

How come Jack's fathers body is missing in the parallel life and the coffin was empty in the Island too?

I know! He got on my nerves when he broke the mirrors? What's the point? Having temper tantrum like a baby, and poor Hugo he walked all the way up for nothing, instead of trying to figure out why are they names on that thing!

Nothing has changed on the island. The coffin has been empty since Jack chased Christian through the jungle and found it empty.

Yes, I know, I mean the coffin was empty then (when the crashed) and now in the parallel time life they can't find the coffin.

I think that what is being portrayed in the story line in general reminds me of the Trials of Job as told in the bible. You have the God like figure ( Jacob ) and the not necessarily evil figure just one with no faith in the human condition ( The False Locke ) having some kind of battle of philosophy that humans with the power to choose will tend to do the right thing whatever that is and not necessarily for their own good but for the good of others too. So I think Jacob picks "candidates" that he thinks have the best chance for success in this battle of philosophy with the False Locke.

They are brought to the Island to under go the Trails without the influence of the outside world and once everyone is there the battle begins between "good and evil".
The only help the humans have is Jacob's power of suggestion to help guide them(for the sake of doing the right thing) but he can't seem to interfere with the individuals power of choice. On the other side you have False Locke doing something similar but for False Locke's own purpose ( which I think the island is where Lucifer fell from heaven and is now in the image of Locke so he can deceive people more easily.) I kind of think that Jacob has False Locke imprisoned on the island so as not to interfere with the human world and the humans power of free choice. I think that maybe the false Locke is the fallen angle Lucifer and the battle determines whether or not he remains imprisoned on the island or is set loose apon the world destroying it.
