The narrator for tonight was Brian Cox, the actor. Interesting choice to use a prominent actor like that for narration. I wonder if he's going to be in the show later?

I tried to look his name up on imdb but there seem to be a few Brian Cox's. I'm assuming he's the guy who played Agamemnon in Troy? I didn't recognize the voice but I still think it sounded creepy. The show is a little creepy, though, so it fit right in.

I was paying close attention to the voice answering back to Boone in the small plane and I clearly heard: We are the survivors of flight 123 (can't remember the #). I enjoyed tonight's show - it was a good recap and now I'm really looking forward to next week. And that kiss between Kate and Sawyer was HOT!

Yes, I forgot to post about that, I was writing things down and wanted to get down here to post and didn't write that part down. I'm pretty sure the exact wording was "Hello, we are the survivors of flight 815" with emphasis on the we.

I also made note of how Locke told Charlie the island would give him what he wanted if he gave something to the island. I think the fact that they decided to include that clip in the recap says a lot. I was surprised there wasn't anything re Walt's powers in the recap.

Ya know, even though i've seen the episodes twice each, I still got chills at some points during the recap even though I knew what would happen. Guess that's a sign of a good show.

I thought the hatch thing for the preview was new, too. Can't wait for the next episode! Looks like Locke defintely gets shot, but by who??? I think Shannon.

I get chills too. I guess the significance of the recap for regular viewers was the clips they elected to show plus the order. Like Rousseau warning Sayid about watching the other people in the camp carefully then cutting to a clip of Ethan. I bet once everything goes down we'll look back and see clues and connections that we missed or didn't realize how they were relevant.

ETA: I don't think someone who hasn't seen the show before could understand enough from the recap to watch the remainder of the season and not be confused.

I like Locke. He helped Charlie get off the dope, he helped Sawyer with his 'bagage', he is a good friend to Walt, ... He is a good guy.

I'm almost never right, lol, but I think the fact that they keep trying to make us think Locke is evil means he's not.
I love him too (as much as Sawyer but in a different way) and I believe he is so much more than an evil guy. I also don't think they will kill him off. He's too interesting to the show. The only thing bothering me about this is he (Terry O'Quinn) will be back on Alias for the season finale. I hope he's not leaving lost to return to Alias instead. It'd be OK with me if he did both. I'd love seeing him some more. I think he's a terrific actor.

I'm another one who would hate to see Locke being evil. Like Delswife said, he has done so many good things. I know it seems like he sacraficed Boone, but when they showed him on the hatch again tonight, he did say something like "why did you let this happen?" I'm assuming he was talking about Boone dying. I really don't think he wanted Boone to die, but I think that may be wishful thinking on my part.

The consensus on the Lost message boards on abc.com when the episode originally aired was that the voice said, "there were no survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." I can't really tell myself.

Maybe in my head I'm hoping that's what was said. It was hard to tell. That part is so messy, for lack of a better descriptive word.

I still think that Locke is good, too. I just wonder what he thinks the deal is with the Hatch...and what he thinks he knows/does know that he isn't telling anyone. There's something there!

I totally agree that this recap would NOT help newbies understand what is going on. No way! So much was left out.

I don't think the shooting will be fatal to Locke. I just can't imagine them losing Locke...he's invovled with everyone on that island in some sort of way!!

What I am concerned about is that the island will get mad if Locke is injured. Does that make sense?

Now that's an interesting idea. Will the island take revenge on anyone who attacks Locke? Seems a reasonable concern.

Well you noticed in that one episode that Locke was starting to lose the use of his legs again (We still dont know do we how he lost the use of them).

It's about time you came back .
My take on that is that the island took his ability to walk so that Boone would be forced to get in the plane. Locke had to "give something back". He looks like he's walking just fine now that Boone is dead.

I think it's a good theory that the island might get PO'd over someone killing/shooting Locke.

I don't want Locke to be evil or dead either LOL. I really don't think he will be. They have made us think both ways of him, they make him so mysterious.

I loved the show last night, I LOL'd many times at some of the one liners, and I totally got freaked out by Ethan, again, even though I know he's dead!!!

I have no theories about what will happen, and I try not to LOL. I just want to sit back and enjoy the ride!

Like I figured, it was just a recap of everything we've already seen. I fast forwarded through most of it just looking for something new. The narrator didn't provide anything new either.

Locke is my favorite character. I don't care if he is good or evil as long as he remains interesting.

The transmission in the plane with Boone was different than what was originally aired. The first time, I heard "there were no..." and this time, I heard "we are the..."
