LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

I love the Mousetrap analogy. That's exactly how I felt for the whole episode. The mechanical sound, the hole Locke was dragged into, the trap that Charlie sprung, the hatch, even the Black Rock and the setup of the flame for the black smoke. So... how do we figure out what the objective of the game is?

Oh, so did anyone see the "Secret Scene" on GMA?

Maybe its some sort of pshycological test to see who will crack first or last and the plane crash was a set up and they were implanted with the dream of the crash.... and so like the last episode will be like dallas when she wakes up itll all be just a dream.... highly unlikely but you never know hehe :teeth:

Just got done re-watching the season finale (lots of it in slow-mo ;) ) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has some thoughts on a few things.
1.) Any ideas on the signficance of that big bird that flew away when they were returning with the dynamite? I only bring it up because it seemed that they made a point of showing the bird and we have never seen it before. Pretty big bird too.
2.) Anyone catch what game Walt was playing on the Gameboy? Again, seemed liked they made a point of showing a screen shot of the game, just before Michael goes off to use the phone.
3.) Funny thing I caught when re-watching the part when Locke is grabbed by the monster. The actor who plays Locke (can't thing of his name) had on knee pads when he was being dragged. In slow-mo, I caught it because for a split second his pant leg is pushed up and you can see a black knee pad. Can't say I blame him, especially being dragged like that. By the way I also thing the "monster" sounds very mechanical and I like the idea of a bunch of small mechanical things working together to make the black cloud and do all the damage.
4.) I am hoping and praying that Charlie only took the statue of the Virgin Mary because he is Catholic (since he was a devote Catholic before starting the band). Of course I doubt this is true because where is the conflict if Charlie doesn't ponder over using the herion. I just don't want Charlie to give in so easily.
5.) I also caught on re-watch the look on Kate's face when she sees the handcuff thingys on the Black Rock and they see all the skeletons. Like she was remembering what it felt like to be in the same thing on the plane.

Anyway, great episode. Can't wait until season 2. And Hurley rocks. I was laughing so hard during that whole flash back with him getting to the plane. :rotfl: :rotfl: So funny.

Hasn't even been a full day and, I'm so lost without Lost!

With all of the talk about the monster and the black mist, I thought I would post this picture. It's not mine and if the original owner gets upset that I posted it I'm going to take it off, but does anyone notice anything strange about the black mist?

Okay here is my latest theory;

The Others live underground and the Hatch is a way out. The wispers that they heard are coming from air vents in the jungle that are hidden by the vegetation. The Island could be a secret military or scientific lab that does work on special abilities like Walt seems to have and that is why they want him. He may have told them not to open the hatch because maybe there is something at the bottom of that shouldn't be let out.

The black smoke was set up by Danielle to lure the Others to the beach so she could give them the baby. As for the boat blowing up it did look like there was a pretty big piece of it left behind Michael. And the Others could be wearing heavy winter clothes because it would be cold underground and on the water. I don't think they may have been out there looking for the raft, they were headed away when the flair went off and I think they were just patrolling the water. I think when they turned the light on the raft they realized that Walt was there, because it seemed that the other boat hesitated before coming closer.

I like this theory.......

about the "monster", if it's a mechanical thing, how the heck did it see and grab the pilot and tear him apart ?? that just doesn't seem plausable to me ?? :confused3

.

It looked like something to do with snow skiing. I am not much of a gamer so can't cite specific title. You made me think: snow skiing....polar bear?! Hmmmm.

Those faces remind me of "The Preditor"... was that what it was called?? with the freaky looking thing that hung out in the jungle and could be invisible

Speaking of games, that makes me think of a scene between Locke and Jack.
When they were trying to wrap up the dynamite (after Arzt blew up) Locke started talking about that being like the game Operation. Jack says, "you like to play games, John?" Locke says, "Absolutely".
What games have we seen played, or have been mentioned?
Mousetrap
Operation
Backgammon
Video games
Also, Locke liked to play the war games/manuevers from his cubicle.

I wonder what all this game stuff means? Surely it's there for a reason.

Oh, that reminded me of my other favorite scene from last night - when Locke was taking out the dynamite & went "buzz!" and scared the crap out of Jack.

:rotfl:

Maybe they were put there as part of a survival game.

That's kind of what I was wondering. If this is all some sort of "game" or "operation." I agree with (I think it was Zip a D Doodah [lol, know I didn't spell that right]) who came up with the mousetrap idea for the security system. That's exactly what it looks like to me.
There are so many possiblities with this show. That's one of the things I love most about it.

The Mist Monster seems to be on both sides of the tree - which makes me think it is not a natural entity. I read Prey too & the nanites do seems plausible. Also, could it be some sort of hologram connected to a mechanical security system. If we go with the nanite theory, maybe the hatch was originally meant to CONTAIN the experiment that Rosseau's team was doing. The experiment went awry & "the monster" escaped somehow. The hatch is the remnants of whatever containment system the scientists were using.

I really only posted my theory so that SillyMe will respond & I can see Sawyer again!

Sorry...no Sawyer in my sig...just an adorable two year old. :goodvibes

The only problem with that theory is that when Danielle was shown the hatch, she told them that she had never seen it before and didn't know what it was. I suppose she could have been lying. I still can't put my finger on her..good, bad, crazy, just depressed...don't know! :scratchin
