Lost banking option from cancelled reservation?

Banked 104 points and will be taking a trip that is 119 points in May. I just cancelled a trip in September that was 34 points.

I'm now showing that I have 101 bankable points and 34 must be used by the end of this use year.

I would have thought that all 104 banked points were used to book the 119pt trip this May??

I'm going to call MS tonight, but thought y'all could shed some light for me. I'm new to DVC so if like to understand my mistake (if it is my mistake) so I won't do it again! TIA!

What is your UY?
Did you borrow points for the Sept trip?

If it's showing 101 bankable points then those are not the points that were previously banked and are current UY points however it sounds like the 34 used for the September trip might have been banked or borrowed and so are unable to be banked again or need to stay in this UY.

It would be helpful to know what your UY is and what points were available when you made both the May and the Sept reservations.

Thanks for the reply! UY is April. Did not borrow points for Sept. trip.

The 34 points were April 2014-April 2015 points (hadn't been previously banked or borrowed).

I called MS and they said they just needed to reallocate the points. A minute later everything was as it should be. Lesson to me? Be vigilant!

Yes, everyone needs to watch their points closely. MS does make mistakes. I have had them put my points into holding when they shouldn't be more than once. I have even had waitlists come thru, and then saw that MS had totally reallocated the points used for the reservation - changing how all of my points were pulled from my various contracts, and even leaving some in holding

I have always gotten my points fixed, but it pays to watch them closely.

I like it that when booking on line you are asked which contract to use. This is a help to me in tracking points.

I had that with my December trip. I don't remember having that opportunity last time I booked online. I have 3 contracts with 2 UY's. I would rather use up my little (28pts) in it's own UY first.
