Just about every trip I take to WDW, I find something left in the room by a previous guest.

This time it is a pretty and kind of funky bracelet. :woohoo: WDW always hangs on to the stuff for a while and then sends it to me. However, I'm aware that they don't look too hard for the owners of this stuff, so I always post it here.

If you lost it, tell me what it looked like and where you lost it and I'll send it to you.

Otherwise, as usual, I'm keeping it. :)

I did lose a a gold & diamond bracelet some where between the BW, Chef Mickeys, the Poly, the monorail, and back to the BW...but this was back on Dec 28. I highly doubt that is what you found. ;)

Ironically I had lost that same bracelet at the Poly years before and it was found. This time, not such good luck. :sad2:

1) THANK YOU!
2) Thought it was lost forever.
3) Go ahead and send it back to me.
4) Again, thank you so very much.

NOTE: Just so you know it is ours: It is a kinda silver or yellow gold based upon the lighting. It has large jewels which sometimes show up in brite light and don't show in darker light. It has a clasp. It is somewhere between eight and twenty-eight inches long (I'm not good on measurements). It is sort of a delicate-sturdy looking. We lost in Disney World right where you found it. Does this sound like the one your found?

Nope, sorry. Though I do still have a diamond ring I found at the Beach Club.

That's the one! I'm mailing it right out. Hold your breath. ;) :)

They really send you the lost items you find? Oh my I would think they would keep it on hand. I'm gonna have to start finding some things! :rotfl:

i lost a blackberry in disneyland once. went to lost & found where it wasn't and filed a claim. weeks later, i get a package in the mail from disneyland.. voila!

I think it's a law that the finder can have the item if it's not claimed after 30 or so days.

On the off chance that this was a real question, the its best to turn the object into the front desk so that it can be put into the lost & found department.

Of course it was a real question. Why on Earth would someone pretend to want to return a bracelet? Well, someone might but I wouldn't.

Anyway, housekeeping handles the Lost and Found for the rooms and it was turned in to them. :)

My take on the OP was that they had already done that, the time period had lapsed, and Disney forwarded the item on to them. They are now putting the word out as a last ditch effort to find the original owner.

Personally, I think that's great! I lost a 14K Mickey Mouse ID bracelet several years ago in the MK that was never turned in. Fortunately, I had a matching ring, so I went back to the store on property where I'd bought it and they were able to track down the original manufacturer. Twice they tried to get my bracelet replaced, but it didn't come back quite the same. On the third try, and after several months of work, they got it right. I don't wear it to the parks anymore.

actually, disney lets its employees purchase unclaimed lost & found items. or at least did if they still don't.

My DH handles this stuff, but doesn't the Resort have a credit card or address info for the guest? I think that the Resort should contact that person by mail or phone. The resort could give a general idea of what was lost and the "owner" would have to describe it in detail. That's just my opinion as to I would like it to work. :)

They'll send it back to you if you want them to. While I'd rather the owners get their stuff back, if it can't go back to the owner, I want it...'cause I found it and finders-keepers.

Jeez O Pete, people! I didn't mean for this to be a big fight. I just happen to know from previous experience that Disney doesn't always knock themselves out finding the rightful owners of stuff left behind. Yes, they could, but they don't. Not always, anyway.

I found the bracelet, I turned it in. If I get it back (as I expect I will), I'd like to return it to the owner. Or, if the owner saw the post, I'd like to assist them in recovering it by contacting housekeeping and telling them exactly who picked it up and when.

But, it doesn't appear that anyone is searching the boards for a Lost and Found post and I'll be wearing the thing myself.

No big fight here. I think it is very nice of you to post here with a lost item (I should have said that in my original post.) I'm just surprised that the Resort doesn't do more to give the item back to the owner. If they won't then I agree Finders Keepers. Like I said, you are very nice to try to find the owner.

Geesh, and I thought I was retentive. I am so glad this board has an ignore option.

I have left items several times, on purpose and I generally get a package in the mail from Disney 2-weeks later returning the item(s) to me. I even left a note on the stuff I put in the trash once (disposable, reusable camera and a bunch of ponchos I did not want to take home) with a note saying I did not want them and they still mailed them to me. :rotfl:

And what nateryan said.....Agreed!!!!:thumbsup2

I was referring to things that aren't claimed. i.e., they can't send it back to you if there's no report filed.

Well, now this all explains why when my son lost his gameboy at WDW, the lost and found claims that for the three month time that I checked daily at every resort we visited, that no gameboys were turned in. I find that hard to believe, given how popular gameboys were at the time, and how careless little boys are with their belongings. It is a sad commentary on human nature that somebody couldn't be bothered to turn a game in to lost and found that belonged to a young child (he was five at the time) when our name and phone number was written on the game.

I agree. But sadly some people think differently. Kudos to the OP that does turn in stuff she finds! :thumbsup2

I have been lucky once we lost Pal Mickey in Epcot and I thought for sure we would not see him again but 2 days later they sent him back to our hotel. And once on our last day I was rearranging bags in the Beach Club lobby while waiting for the bus. I ended up leaving the new Bionicel set that my son bought at the Lego store. I called and lost and found had it. They mailed it back to me. And what surprised me even more was Disney mailed it at their cost.

When we have lost things, they way I try to calm my son is tell him that maybe the child that found it Mom and Dad can't afford to buy them toys. And it's kind of like he donated to those less fortunate. It seems to help him.
