Hello fellow WISHers! I'm hoping you can help me out of the "funk" that I've been in the past week or so.

I'm down about 20 pounds in the past 3.5 months but I still have about 50 to go to get to where I'd like to be. I was doing great but since the Easter week and my son's 3rd b-day I've lost steam. It seems as if I have the sweets back in my system and just an over all apathetic approach. Fortunately the good thing is that in the past when I hit this kind of bump I end up sabatoging myself and eating poorly on purpose but this time I'm not doing that......just instead eating more than I should and not making the best choices: picking cereal over those egg whites.

Any suggestions on how to break this?

Not sure, but I would love to advice as well. Even since my injury last weekend I have not been able to work out and this lack of ability is getting me down, so what do I do...eat. Not necessarily bad eat, although I did have fried shrimp for dinner last night and a piece of key lime pie the night before :headache: , but over eat in general. For example this morning I had oatmeal and toast and jelly and some watermelon. Just oatmeal or toast plus the fruit and a glass of milk would have been sufficient, but I "had" to have both. I have also been eating those 100 calorie packs a lot this week. I tend to avoid simple sugar regardless of the calories, and reserve those packs as an occasional indulgence. Not this week.
So alas, I am having the same issue. I have every intention of getting back to my exercising on Monday, so hopefully that snaps me out of it!

Ok - pretend that this weekend is a NEW beginning. You are going to wake up tomorrow with a renewed sense of excitement about moving on to the next level of your journey!

Find something that makes you get excited or feel the way you did when you first decided to lose the weight and get healthy. Think about the summer clothes you want to fit into, the new jeans you want to buy when you get to goal or something else along that line.

You can do this - Tomorrow is a new day - go out and Seize it!

Maybe try joining one of the challenge boards... perhaps if you have inspiration with that it could help. Also try varying workouts and changing up food options... Don't forget to let yourself have a splurge day every couple of weeks or so. Most of all just keep moving forward. Good Luck and come say hi on The In Search of my Body.... thread... Looking forward to seeing ya!

I agree with the PP. I was going through the same thing, had surgery in January, and stopped working out and wasn't paying attention as much to what I was eating. I joined the March Exercise Challenge (and a gym) and found that both gave me something to look forward to and to shoot for.

Best of luck :)

I very strongly agree with the previous posters. You're in a rut...get some help to overcome. Get a trainer, take a new class, join a program at the gym to get you enthusiastic again so you can approach the next phase with some renewed energy. As far as the food goes, you're probably feeing deprived... find a heathy new food/meal (a smoothie, protein bar, healthy, but satisfying, dinner recipe) to find enjoyment in. don't forget all you've accomplished and resolve to push through this new challenge!!

I totally agree with the majority here. The past is the past, you can't change it, but today is a new day!! You have lost 20 pounds so far, that is wonderful and you don't want that hard work to be for nothing. The warmer weather is coming so this is the perfect time to get back to what worked for you before. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

I am so proud of you for knowing you will change this behavior! You can do this. Just get yourself started and wonder how you did it later!

I'd recommend logging everthing you eat if you want to see something amazing. I've found this quite a motivator when I've recently wanted to monitor what it is I'm doing to get myself back on track.

Come play with one of the challenge threads or just post to encourage someone else.

You can do this. Make it happen!
